BC tomatometer dumb af
Tried to edit my post, but couldn't. I also want to add, it is amazingly emotional.
Saw this last night. Get out and see this in a theater!! It was amazing. I can't gush enough about this movie. I've never made it a secret that my favorites are G '54 and Mothra Vs. Godzilla '64. For me, this is right up there with them, after one viewing. It blows everything else out of the water. It has a great human drama with characters that I liked, cared about and didn't want to see hurt. Godzilla is what he what he should be in this (at least for me). He is in four impactful sequences. I've read reviews where they said he's not in it a lot. Let me tell you when he is in it, he is front and center. There's no cutting away, no teases. He is BAD! He's not an anti-hero, he doesn't dance, fly, talk. He is angry and he wants to take out his wrath on anyone and everyone. He's one of the more expressive and reactive Godzillas we've seen in quite some time. GO SEE IT!
Climate change? Really! Didn't Peter Weyland nipped that in the bud during the mid-21st century with his terraforming plants?
The thing is Synths were only threat due to having loyalty to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation as we see with Ash and to an extent with David. Although David was a unique case, although he was an early model but he was hand-picked by Peter Weyland so maybe this particular David was a modified David 8.
Bishop was loyal to the Marines and Call was a highly advanced Synthetic (Too be honest I think the whole A.I. is a threat started with Alien Resurrection, because in Joss Weadon works he always makes the Synthetic the bad guy or a threatening force)
This meta-human plot doesn't make any sense. Especially this early in the ALIEN timeline! Synthetics maybe. To plot so far sounds like a rehash of Caprica. Also I'm against having xenomorphs (I don't count David's praetomorph as a true xenomorph) on Earth prior to their discovery on LV-426.
Looks like a Monsterverse take on the Millennium Godzilla
Update: The number of reviews have increased to 72, with 65 fresh and 7 rotten, which should put the percentage at 90%, yet no changes to the Tomatometer...

I will agree I was hesitant at first with the Meta-Human angle, but after watching Raised by Wolves I no longer have such doubts, I think if done right, the implementation of the concept can be successful without detracting too much from the Alien plot. The biggest hurdle for modern shows now is to avoid excessive woke nonsense. But Alien has always touched on existential threats to Humanity and I definitely think meta-humanism is one which we will see in our lifetime. Synths and Aliens go hand in hand.
I think mine ran out
If they are serious about this meta-human plot, it will be the death of the series. Damn it, this is going to be the Halo TV series all over again!
I watched episode 1 and literally everyone in it is a complete asshole but i liked it anyways
Heat Man is approaching dangerous levels, he needs to be neutralized by Goji himself
Apple TV Plus, but like I think they have a 30 days free thing going on.
HinikunaGojii
So is it exclusively on Apple TV or can I watch it elsewhere?
Also SasquaDash, was randomly on yt and saw you commented under smth. Don’t remember what just was gonna talk bout it.
LOVE IT
though I do have a question. So like I didn’t know if Godzilla awakening was considered canon before, bc like it definitely isn’t now. Like how does that work out?
It's hard to judge the show at this point, since only the first 3 episodes have been released, but so far I think it's pretty good (though it does have a few flaws). The biggest criticism I've seen are people complaining about the fact that the monsters (specifically Godzilla) don't have a lot of screen time, with the series taking an approach similar to Jaws and Alien, and I've seen some criticism over the time jumps that happen throughout the series (though I don't mind it personally). The human characters are pretty solid for the most part with Lee Shaw (Kurt & Wyatt Russell) being a highlight. The new monsters are also pretty cool.
Huh, I haven't watched Monarch yet. Is it good?
Looks like I have more CCR material to work with
Too bad THE PREDATOR was one of the worse Predator movies to date besides AVP 04
jason the return..i like thus killers who wear a mask..
i like this man. good movie we will see..
i like thus planet of the apes movies sequels .they are a movies success.there is something on this apes something scary and funny at the same time..they overthrow the humans and takeover the planet ..in our imagination..
the question is in the real life are the apes a real threat for the humans.............??.

Possibly, the Monarch might start using biotechnology to create its own titans. They might try crossbreeding Godzilla's DNA with something exotic, like a titan with regenerative abilities, to create a kind of invincible supertitan. Or they could experiment with other genes that enable the development of the ability to evolve in response to various threats, allowing it to adapt to different types of attacks. I recently came across https://edubirdie.com/examples/biotechnology/ and there could be numerous possibilities for development if you delve deep into genetics. It's a pity that modifying humans is still considered unethical. I would happily modify myself.

Weekend actuals for Godzilla Minus One were updated and the numbers are even higher than originally estimated. The actual total after last weekend now sits at 2.112 Billion Yen ($14.1 Million). The attendance number sits at 1,352,125. As of last weekend Godzilla Minus One only trails Shin Godzilla's second weekend by 38 Million Yen. (Kogyotsushin, SciFi Japan)
Minus One's 2nd weekend trails Shin Kamen Rider's final gross by 220,000 Yen and its attendance by less than 240,000 tickets.
(As of Wednesday, 11/16/2023, Minus One has already passed Shin Kamen Rider's gross and its attendance sits at 1.51 million--which will most assuredly pass Shin Kamen Rider's attendance this weekend. However, the updated charts will only reflect this past weekend.) (Eiga Ranking)
Minus One will likely surpass 2 million in attendance sometime next week. Charts have been updated to reflect the second weekend actuals.
They could recall time travel or, for instance, show that Godzilla somehow participated in a big bang. And add some reasonable semi-star plasmoids.
Godzilla vs. Elon Musk. (I don't rule out that he's an alien)
When I was little, I saw the 2014 movie Godzilla in the theater with my parents and was amazed by its power and grandeur. Back then, I didn't know it was a reboot of the 1998 film, I just enjoyed it. I was fascinated by how Godzilla fought the MUTO and protected humanity. After that, I started watching all the Godzilla movies I could find. Godzilla is the king of monsters!
