The 16th weekend for Godzilla Minus One was also the first weekend it was not in the top 10 at the Japanese Box Office. However, it still has a fairly strong hold for a movie that's been in theaters for four months. It is currently at 5.91 Billion Yen ($40.46 Million). It will hopefully cross 6 Billion Yen next week. It will likely pass GINO in attendance before that though. It's current attendance is at 3.85 Million. GINO finished its run at 3.90 Million. (Toho, Eiga Ranking)

Very interesting
the last one is actually Tiamat
Good, this movie is going to be good
I'm excited to see Mothra's return, however
BRING BACK THE FARIES!
My dad took me to see Godzilla 1985 in a theater. It blew me away. After the film he took me to an ice cream shop down the street where the owner had a huge display of Kaiju toys and figures on display. My dad bought me my first Godzilla figure there. I've been an otaku ever since!
Return of Godzilla (1984) is still one of my favorites in the franchise! It is also my favorite soundtrack in the series, aside from Ifukube, whose in a class by himself!
Well I hope Romulus is a good movie, hopefully they don't interject real world politics into the setting because well... Disney
A closer look at Shimo:

I'm okay with any PR stunt....Need to get some interviewers asking question to these actors. Generate 'some' content! We've had nothing.
If they overplay it: The majority are probably going to be disappointed....Reviewers have field days on overhyped movies. "The trailer Showed too MUCH!!","The trailer was better than the movie!!"
If they underplay it: Many won't put it on their summer watch list...or forget about it entirely.
Luckily, August look pretty tame for big releases. Romulus stands a good chance.
I really love her and want her back!
Awesome! I love Mothra, in all of incarnations.
I hope this is going to be a fun movie

Last weekend, Godzilla Minus One stayed in the top 10 for its 15th straight weekend. (And likely the last weekend it will be in the Top 10.) Monday was a holiday and most outlets are treating it as part of the weekend final. As a result, I will too. (Eiga)
By Monday it hit 5.85 Billion Yen ($40.05 Million) & 3.81 Million in attendance. It surpassed Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II's attendance. GINO's next. It is currently Japan's 12th most-attended Godzilla film in the franchise. (Kogyotsushin, FranSpeech Report)
- 1st highest-grossing live-action domestic film of the Reiwa Political Era.
- 1st highest-grossing domestic live-action 2023 film in Japan.
- 2nd highest grossing/attended kaiju film in last 13 years.
- 4th highest-grossing domestic 2023 film in Japan.
- 5th highest-grossing 2023 film in Japan.
- 12th most attended Godzilla movie in Japan.

This sounds like a PR stunt
bet $500 = NO WAIT $10,000
i want my angy wangy to be in the monsterverse!
Would like to see Zilla again
Megalon, especially since his subterranean origin story would work well with the new hollow earth concept. Plus I'm just a huge Megalon fan lol
I sure hope Bob Iger used the wrong word because I see no reason to start a whole new continuity.
I wished ALIEN and PREDATOR were owned by Universal or Paramount
I hope this movie will be better than the in-name only TV series
Good, I hope Hawley's "alien" is a separate continuity from the ALIEN films and that its a one season series.
Well hopefully they find a good director
Good. It's nice that Iger knows something about it. ( unless he's completely wrong )
And It's separate...so there's no timeline destruction.
( They should be a hundred years apart anyway!! )
Considering it hits theaters this summer I suspect a trailer and official website are on the horizon! I miss the days when Prometheus was announced and we had like 2 years of chatter, marketing material and slow-feed details. It built hype so much for that film, now it seems films get announced with barely a year before release and the marketing only ramps up 3 months prior to release. I get attention spans are shorter for online presence, but this franchise is a treasure trove of debatable ideas and theories which can propel the hype train much further than conventional marketing tactics, imo.
Either way, it's exciting to see some movement on Romulus! Eager to see more.
guess we will have a teaser trailer very soon. =)
Looks good. Hopefully a website soon?
I wonder if Iger has watched it, or does only Marvel, Star Wars and Disney stuff gets his attention.
I'm still astonished that nothing has leaked....doesn't anyone care about ALIEN?
I'm good with whatever they do...except if they ruin the soundtrack.
Indeed it is supposed to take place between Alien and Aliens - Perhaps Bob Iger used the wrong word? Or Romulus is a reboot and the year in which it takes place happens to fall between the events of Alien and Aliens - but with no significant ties to either film besides the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. That's my guess.
I love the JP3 Raptors, they were the one good thing to come out of Jurassic Park III
Wait, wait, wait, I thought Alien Romulus is supposed to take place between ALIEN and ALIENS, how will that be possible if its a reboot?
A reboot? I find that difficult to believe. Probably a misquote.
Romulus: Ship name? Base name? Plot description?
I'm very very not interested in making more fights, I don't know if I'll come back.

For the 14th weekend Godzilla Minus One remained in the top! Finishing at #9, the film has now gross 5.73 Billion Yen ($39.2 Million). Attendance is now at 3.72 million and it looks like it will surpass Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II! (Toho, FranSpeech Report, Eiga Ranking)
It has broken another massive box office record, grossing more than 2019’s Kingdom and making it the highest-grossing live action Japanese film of the Reiwa Era. (This means it is Japan’s highest grossing live action film of the last five years.)(Eiga Ranking, WorldofKJ)
It’s on pace to be in the top 10 for the 15th weekend, but will be losing a lot of 4D theaters this weekend as well.
- 1st highest-grossing live action domestic film of the Reiwa Political Era.
- 1st highest-grossing domestic live-action 2023 film in Japan.
- 2nd highest grossing/attended kaiju film in last 13 years.
- 4th highest-grossing domestic 2023 film in Japan.
- 5th highest-grossing 2023 film in Japan.
- 13th most attended Godzilla movie in Japan.

hopefully just Jurassic World, because no remake will ever compare to the original Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World unless they base it completely off the books, but please no woke stuff like race, gender, or sexuality lifting please stick to the source material!
paulpettit
It means "Alien/Strange Form", its the official name for the aliens in the ALIEN series
What an absolutely incredible movie. I was able to see it twice in color and twice minus color. Looking forward to when I own it.
