Honestly, It would. I should make a fake cover for Godzilla Vs John Cena.

KaijuFan_6754Godzilla ForumThe MonsterVerse wasted it's most promising human character, but they can still fix this certain character.

This isn't really about Millie Bobby Brown, but I feel like Godzilla VS. Kong didn't show enough Godzilla. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every scene Godzilla appeared in, but I feel like they could have at least shown more of Godzilla's side of the story. Same with the Warbats and Skullcrawlers. I would kill to see them more often on screen. But again, these are just my thoughts. Still a good movie though!

I propose that the female MUTO is the best looking female character in the Godzilla series. She even managed to attract a male and reproduced in San Francisco.

G. H. (Gman)Godzilla ForumShin Godzilla vs Godzilla (Legendary)

Kattozilla,
Precisely. He was used in the same way he was in earlier movies: Atomic-phobia in Godzilla '54 and Godzilla Raids Again, an arbiter for the evils of capitalism in Mothra vs. Godzilla, even in Invasion of Astro-Monster he's treated as a Cold War weapon schematic up for trade. Not to mention the embodiment of Cold War fears in Return of Godzilla. In a lot of these cases Godzilla transcends characterization and takes foothold in something almost terrifyingly otherworldly--god-like even.

Yeah, he was more like a metaphor or stand-in for any disaster and how slow Japan is to do something about it.

Kattozilla,
Agreed. The Godzilla in Shin Godzilla was perfect for the story and maintain a solemn sort of terror behind his mysteriously blank persona. I prefer Godzilla to stand in as a walking metaphor or some kind of god-like entity we don't completely understand. The less relatable I find Godzilla, the more interesting he is--Like something that stands above us for unknown reasons.

Alright, maybe a bit of an out-there idea but here me out. Megalon!

Imagine what if in ancient prehistory some civilizations remained in the Hollow Earth and evolved into their own subspecies of humans. Maybe these civilizations used to warship the Kong species, but after they went extinct they found a new god-like figure in another Hollow Earth creature like Megalon.

Based on Megalon's previous Role and Origin and seeing as we're likely going to explore more of the Hollow Earth in the next Kong movie, I think it could make for a pretty cool story! I know Megalon isn't really related to Kong in any way, but with a connected universe as the MonsterVerse, I think it could be cool to see characters from different franchises crossover (Similarly to how Kong was originally supposed to be in Ebirah: Horror of the Deep instead of Godzilla).

But more on topic, I do hope Kong goes back to the more brutal R-rated action of Skull Island. I think it really fits the character and makes his movies distinct from the other Monsterverse movies!

@Chris, yeah. That’s why I doubt they will do son of Kong. Just really doesn’t make sense for the most part after making it such a big deal that he is the last of his kind. Rather have it be more just Kong and team exploring and finding out the origins and evolution of the titans along with Kong’s people history. A real deep dive into who is King Kong and how he came to be. Maybe an explication that will properly explain his role in the monsterverse is as it seems Godzilla and the other titans have clear roles in restoring nature and Kong is just there.

Maybe the Dr. Houston , but everyone else is not with Monarch. I would like for the Dr to come back and connect with Kong. Show Kong’s intelligence by having him remember a friendly face even though it was years ago. Not to mention he was the one that really pushed the hollow earth theory and proved it back in K:SI. I’m sure he would love to be down there and see what all his years of research has lead to.

@sonictiger, yeah. GvK just had him lose the whole movie and need help. I want this movie to fix that. Kong was said to be this apex predator, and alpha titan, and this Kong movie needs to show that where GvK failed. But it’s not all about the fights though they shouldn’t skimp on them at all. I want to dive deeper into Kong’s history. Jia is definitely a major character as she is who Kong cares about the most.

Well, they'll have to explain a lot about how Kong ends up having a son. Are we to assume Hollow Earth houses other Kong species? If so that opens up a lot more doors. So I guess my expectations is an elaborate exploration of Hollow Earth above all else.

Hopefully it isn't just Kong getting his butt kicked.  I want his friendship with Jia to be expanded upon, and I also want Kong to fight either Gorosaurus but if not Goro, than Rhedosaurus (AKA The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms).

YeOldFossilGodzilla (Toho) NewsLegendary in talks with Godzilla vs. Kong's Adam Wingard to direct the next Monsterverse movie!

Harassing GvK? It’s honest criticism. GvK had so much potential and it was all wasted. The fights are the only thing keeping it afloat.I see so many people going GvK was the best monsterverse movie and demanding Adam come back for Kong. No. I don’t want him to direct a Kong movie where he will have Kong get his ass whooped every fight and need people to save him so he can have a chance to win and cut all the important story scenes and character moments. That not the Quality a Kong movie should be held too.

SasquaDashGodzilla ForumShin Godzilla vs Godzilla (Legendary)

Zo-zla-halawa

I was only comparing the Shin and Legendary. As much as I enjoy Shin Godzilla, my biggest issue with that film (and some of Toho's current Godzilla products) is that Godzilla lacks a personality. I prefer it when monsters have personality because it makes them feel more alive, a creature that thinks, breaths and has motivation. As cool as Shin is, it never felt like a living creature or a character. It pretty much felt like a glorified, occasionally moving set piece that was pretty much just there to look scary. There was no motivation, all it did was walk forward and occasionally fire its atomic beams. The only time that it felt alive was when they dropped a bomb on it and it reacted like it was in pain. The problem with that characterization is that it just reinforces the stereotype that Godzilla is nothing more than a big dumb brute that smashes things. I get that they want him to feel like an unstoppable force of nature, but by taking away his personality, I feel that it takes away some of his appeal. My favorite version of the character was in the Heisei films, mainly because he had personality and was able to show emotion such as anger and sadness. The Heisei Godzilla wasn't just a city smashing brute, he was an intelligent creature with a soul, which added a lot of layers to the character and made him more interesting. The thing that I really like about the Legendary films is that they are able to portray the monsters as characters and that they have a hierarchy and an order between them, so they're not just destroying things and fighting each other for the heck of it. That's why I personally like the Legendary version more than Shin.
