Who says the aliens put them there? Maybe that dot pattern is something buried in the collective subconscious of mankind and it came out in the work of these artists.

I'm not entirely sure but I have heard that the aliens in this movie are supposed to be more sexual in nature, the Xenomorph was supposed to be as well.

hahaha GEM ... Yes, but weirdo Giger's visions are sort of really apparent. People have been discussing the phallic nature of everything depicted in the Alien films for years. And there really is no denying that if you look at the Xeno's head in profile... Its a big penis.. seriously. Another curious thing on this discussion line is that it never occured to me until recently, but the SJ control/chamber/chair is DIRECTLY behind the "giney" slits. Somehow, I had I been confused in that one of the "arm booms" has an obvious canopy structure, but I see now that the the control room and its canopy are directly at the center mass of the vessel, right behind the "giney" slits.

Man, I'd hate to be that fish. I always thought, well, always suspected, that the trunk coming from the jockey's helmet worked as a breathing mechanism. Just another part of his space suit.

Also, in seeing how the SJ is totally locked in to the chair, obviously it is to keep the SJ from moving around, but either for the rough movement during space flight, or for when that thing bursts from its chest, I don't know. But if that's the case, the SJ knew it was "infected" and locked itself into the chair because of the inevitable. Then, that's when the giant penis comes into play....I don't know, I can't figure it out. Just thinking out loud, so to speak.

Now that fish tongue thing IS very interesting isnt it? I still cant get away from the fact that the trunk is still too short in relation to the original. In Alien the trunk was part of the rib cage and quite long. Perhaps Ridley hoped we wouldnt notice lol........remember he hates it when we look too deep lol.

Yes, I thought that penis/telescope thing wasn't necessarily a telescope but acted in the same way a penis did, if you get my drift. But how and for what purpose, I can't be sure.

When I first heard the rumblings of Ridley calling the SJ fossil a suit, it made me think of flight suits for fighter pilots and their breathing apparatus. It would make sense, especially if the SJ is meant to carry out terraforming on various worlds. The telescope is still what puzzles me though.

I did go this route with the Alien being a parasite sort of thing a while back ... so why can't their be TWO species working together as ONE? ... Well i can tell you...........keep your eyes on a certain auction website in a couple of weeks. Not sure what i can say on here so im not going to lol. Plus before i started building this project i asked Giger what my options were and his agent emailed me saying that FOX actually owns the copyright of the alien design now and they a not really bothered with garage builds as long as they are not mass produced. Giger on the other hand doesnt mind either, as long as the product (ill call it) isnt sold with his name attached to it. So yes....i probably will be selling them. Although at the moment it doesnt have a neck. Was thinking of making a latex sleeve that glues to the plastic head......but also has the sinues around the jaw that stretches as the jaw opens. So at the moment im not sure if ill sell them without the neck.......or youll all have to wait until ive come up with something to hide your own head. As it stands there will be no eye holes because you can see through its mouth unlike all the other heads on the market......clever me lol. So no eye holes in the neck itself. And youll be happy to know they will not cost hundreds like the current ones out there. I started this project to build an entire suit that DIDNT cost thousands to buy because it upsets me when you see them for like £4000-10,000. Because to me, once you have the moulds, from then on its only plastic and silicone/latex........which to make a suit doesnt actually cost that much, so they profit too much and people like you and me will never own the suit because i myself cant afford £10,000, id rather buy a car lol.

The simple point is, its 2012 and audience's expect WOW factor. If they were to have scrounged some 40 column green monochrome monitors off Ebay and have a giant computer cpu bay with 10,000 light bulbs, YOUNG people with NO connection to Alien whatsoever would simply laugh this production off.

I don't think Yutani and Weyland are two superpowers. They are definitely two companies with similar goals. Remember they must end up merging somewhere in the timeline for the Alien movies. I dont think he wrecked it. It pretty massive to say he did, since the best part of the Alien Franchise and extended universe is based off that movie and not the original. you can tie both films into each other very well if you think about it enough. There's nothing to say that Aliens wasn't the logical evolution of the first film, with the influx of human DNA to the Xeno gene pool, as i have stated else where on the forums. The first Alien movie just the first stage in what came out to be amazing set of stories (apart from resurrection - step to far in my eyes) and who is to say what happens to a Xeno when its mixed with different DNA. look at the AvP games and the comics, Colonial Marines comic (and the the new game which is freaking AWESOME btw) and the novels from the universe If anything, Prometheus has the potential to completely destroy everything that has been written, which you could take as a reboot to SRS original vision of the movies. so before you go planning on-line petitions etc against Cameron, let this movie play out, and see where it takes us, because no one know for sure that this is going to be about the Alien we all know and hide under our covers at night from.

Surely a mentat is able to compute the reasons for such a discrepancy. If the tech was the same as Alien, anyone who does not have serious affection for that movie would be turned off. The upgraded tech makes sense and is one of the smaller artistic licenses they can take to help ensure the movies success. Off Topic note: Who here still wants to see Ridley's take on Dune? I saw an interview where he says he was set to make the film but his brother passed away suddenly and he needed to take time off to sort things out. Maybe that is Shai Hulud coming out of Shaw's belly ; )

Yes... I had mentioned that just from the ergonomic standpoint, that "helmet" would not jive with the not-quite right in height, "Blue Meanie". AND, I had always thought the the little Alien mouth was an extroplation of the SJ "trunk", but who knows.

If the movie is a success, merchandize will follow. Oscars. Books will follow. Games will follow. And perhaps, a prequel/sequel/whatever will follow. Could be the start of a new franchise. Reasons enough for this site to continue.

Well I didnt really have the heart to break it to you all, but the May 30th release is going to be the toned down version so as not to offend your delicate sensibilities..... and the June 8th release is going to be the Extra-"Grauslich" version. :P
