I remember seeing one of the Robocop movies (I think is was #3) and they used a cable to upload data to his memory. Being a plumber I knew it was a flex hose for a toilet, I thought it was pretty funny.

@cinefan : agree. Ridley's style is more psychological than action. Expecting that Prometheus will be more detailed on the DNA stand rather than too much action.

I just finished rewatching "The Thing from Another Planet," and feel that it had a few direct influences on Alien. In TTfAP, the thing starts killing people on a military base and the soldiers radio for orders. The orders come back not to harm the alien under any circumstances. These orders are then followed up and clarified later that the thing must not be harmed. Also, TTfAP made the thing radioactive. The soldiers used a geiger counter to track it's proximity to them. I think this became the motion detector.

sucks doesnt it craig, most people cant handle someone else being "different". @Bio LOL. i usually use black polish but i went with red this time, but obviously its almost all flaked off. i do have tattoos elsewhere and i have some piercings as well,the skull is on my arm instead of my nails :)

Alien didn't have a lot of high octane action, it was more of an intilligent thriller. For Prometheus I'm expecting a thought provoking film with some action. I'm not expecting Aliens type action, it's not Ridley's style. More along the line of the film Sunshine as far as pace goes.

We should remember the rule established by the Star Wars prequels which is that technology is always better in the prequels. Besides, I wouldn't have noticed the "ice cube tray" on that thing if no one had pointed that out ;)

Nice collection belladonna! You should be proud of it. I used to have some of the Kennedy toys growing up but have no idea where they are now. I do have some of the McFarland AVP figures. They are pritty cool in my opinion. Say what you will about the movies but the figurines are nice. I do wish I could buy some of the Alien busts and figures from sideshow collectables but they are a little to expensive. Really nice quality though.

I know what you mean belladonna...TRUST ME....my childhood wasn't exactly the most civil either....

lol craig. more then one story ^_^ i was bullied a lot. i was taught never to start a fight but not to tolerate anyone putting their hands on me. there may be 3-4 people with an alien head imprint on their face to this day, lol i wish. im sure the imprints went away after a few days though, hehehe. at least they learned just because someone is half your size and tries to avoid confrontation doesnt mean they wont tear into you like a bob cat when you push em too far.

@Bio, i bought it for myself but it would make a cool Claddagh/engagement/wedding ring ha! i know it hurts when you hit someone with it, so thats useful ^_^ @ripley which queen? the crappy kenner one or the big display queen? i got the kenner one as a kid and i got the big one at an antique store for 20 bucks. i got the "wild boar" alien at an antique store too, that sure made me feel old.
