How is that possible? Reptiles and Insects can't naturally hybridize. It has to be a unique clade of animals unseen in the fossil records that have evolved convergent reptile, mammalian, and insect traits but yet not related to either of these groups.
I think MUTOs are both reptilian and insect.

I just wanted to talk about the ALIEN RPG's supplemental lore on the black goo.
The RPG modules: Core Rule Book, Chariot of the Gods and Heart of Darkness adds additional lore bits such as giving a semi-official name to the Planet 4 Xenomorph, called a Preatomorph, in-place of the fan named Protomorph.
The deacon and trilobite are now collectively classified as Protomorphs. Those exposed to the black goo are divided into main categories. Anathemics are based-on Halloway's and Fifield's condition and the other who's name I can't recall at the moment are based on early concept of Fifield's Condition.
Orga - Huge potential with his DNA stealing ability, could be a good final villain.
Hedorah - Banno got us this universe, his creation should get the spotlight he always wanted again.
Destoroyah- "set up". Would be cool to witness again and really hurt Godzilla if not kill him.
Anguirus, Gigan, Destoroyah. though if youd said 5 id add in Kumonga and maybe Varan though Baragon would tie for that slot

I think the xenomorph killed Lambert and Parker in a rushed manner.
Maybe it was going to capture Lambert but Parker interrupted it.
In its agitated state it killed Parker for attacking it.
Now why it killed Lambert shortly afterwards could be a number of factors.
But I think. It heard Ripley was approaching, so it accidentally killed Lambert off why trying to flee with her inside a cramped crevice. The novelization has both Lambert and Parker being stuffed inside of a cramped pipe. So I think the xenomorph just aborted its attempt to eggmorph them.

Looking at the Time-Frame then the ONLY thing that makes sense that does-not go and Conflict the Franchise is...if the Movie was set after Alien Covenant and its a Response to Davids Advent Message... so WY send a Ship to Planet 4 and they take the Eggs and leave but something Happens and another Human Ship then comes into Contact with this WY Ship.
OPPS.....SCRUB THAT..
My Brain drifted off then.... so we are AFTER ALIEN...
Which means if we ONLY go and Consider the Movies (God knows how the TV Series will Connect). Then we have EGGS on LV-426 and so you would THINK the Company goes to LV-426 after ALIEN to get Eggs....
The Derelict in ALIENS looked Damaged from a Explosion from Inside... this could be a ATTEMPT to Destroy the Ship.... and so the Movie could TIE into another Visit to the Derelict where the WY Company obtain Eggs and get them onto a Ship before things go to POT....
Then our Gang from this Movie go and Dock with this W-Y SHIP.
But then these Eggs could come from PLANET 4... what becomes of the Remaining Eggs there?
What becomes of David and those Face Huggers? and so LV-426 does-not have to be the ONLY place where the Xenomorph Eggs are Located.
The TV Series will THROW a SPANNER into the Works... being set like 25 Years before ALIEN.... because as of even 2020... we have Ridley Scott indicate that the Xenomorph did-not Exist prior to Davids Shenanigans on Planet 4.
Back to the Original Topic.... we have to look at the FRAMING for a Direct Sequel. Ridley Scott had said that we will be going where David is going and it will be about WHAT KIND of a WORLD would David Create... he also indicated the Movie would NOT be about the Xenomorph... and that we are (Alien Covenant) 2-3 Movies from ALIEN.
RS then said that there would be a Incoming 3-4 Parties, which ONE will be the Engineers who will arrive at Planet 4 and Discover what has Happened and would be OUT after whoever had Caused this.
Party (1) Engineers, and Party (2) Walter maybe? and (3-4) Incoming Human Ships maybe ONE goes to Planet 4, the other to Origae-6 or maybe one is another Colony Type to Origae-6 while the other is a Military/Scientific.
RS seems to indicate the Engineers arrive (i assume to Origae-6) in the Third Act, but this could be Planet 4 and we see them SET OFF at the END in search of David which SETS UP for the 4th Prequel.
We then have to Consider each Parties Agenda...
a) W-Y: The Company eventually will receive the Advent Message from David (if we assume its Canon). And so they would likely be Interested in what he has done and would SEND a SHIP to Planet 4 (maybe LV-223 too) but i think thats too much so i would assume they go to Planet 4 with a Scientific/Military Ship.... as they kind of KNOW what lies in STORE for them.
It would take them about 11 Months to get to Planet 4 after they have received Davids Message and made a Decision. Meaning (unless the Message is Transited Quicker than the Covenant can Travel and the WY Ships are Faster) a WY Ship would arrive at Planet 4 like about 2 Years after David had left.
The Company may also send a Ship to Origae-6.... which again when we add that David is already say about 10-11 Months closer to Origae-6 then David should have nearly 3 Years on Origae-6 before any WY Ship arrives.
b) Other Humans.... we cant rule out that other Humans would want to Follow in the Footsteps of the Covenant to get away from Earth....
Another Human Ship could had left at any time, and not necessarily after the Company gets the Advent Message off David, or even the Message of David pretending to be Walter. Another Human Ship could have left Earth, 6 Months, 12 Months, 18 Months after the Covenant left Earth.
Thus another Human Ship could arrive on Origae-6 say 1-2 Years after David had arrived and 1-2 Years before any Military Ship with knowledge of David and what he had BEEN DOING arrives.
c) The Engineers.... RS had said the Engineers come and go to Planet 4 every few Hundred Years.... and some will RETURN to see this World Destroyed....they would want REVENGE.
We have NO IDEA of when they arrive, it could be a Year, Two, Five! what we have to Consider is their Ships surely can Travel Faster than the Covenant and if they arrive while the Covenant is still within say a Year away from Planet 4 then the Engineers could Detect the Ship and GO OUT after it and WELL then David would NOT be getting to Origae-6 and any Human Ships close to Planet 4 when the Engineers Return could also be taken OUT!
We have to Consider what the Engineers would be thinking.... they would notice the Likeness of Human Bodies (but we do not know how many Worlds the Engineers had Seeded Humans on)..... They would maybe have some kind of CCTV from their City or they would see the Wreckage of the Lander... but how would they know WHERE these came from?
They would maybe know there are Humans, and would maybe Find Walter who has a Human likeness and so they would be left to go and VISIT say Worlds where there are HUMANS and to Eradicate us... but its Which WORLD is the Culprit, if the Earth is the ONLY place where they are aware Humans are thats Easy...
But Humans are Alive and well by the TIME we get to ALIEN/ALIENS and so its UNLIKELY the Engineers arrive at Earth..... The ONLY WAY this does-not Happen is.
I) They Discover that David is the Culprit and HEAD to where he is going, but its HOW do they know where he is going.... the ONLY likely answer is WALTER.
II) They suffer Death at the Hands of the Horrors on Planet 4.
III) Some take the Eggs to LV-223 to Experiment on, or take them to Earth/Origae-6 but END UP on LV-426.
The PLOT seemed to suggest our Engineers will FIND DAVID and so WALTER is likely the KEY to HOW they know where David will be.
d) DAVID..... this Part is Ambiguous... IF we see that David wishes to Create more Xenos he would NEED more GOO..... (unless he has some stashed.. he would likely go to LV-223 First)....
IF his Xenomorphs can Procreate as shown in ALIEN/ALIENS then TWO Face Huggers and SHIP full of Humans in Stasis is Easy for him as LONG as he can Protect himself from the Xenos or Control them....
Ridley Scott however suggests on one hand the Movie would NOT be about Xenos but WHAT KIND of a WORLD would David Create.... its indicated he would GET to Origae-6.
The Advent he referred to his Xenomorph as his Wolf, he makes Reference over the Human Embryos as his Lambs. He makes note that the Engineers knew you had to give LIFE to the Lamb and the Wolf... but what the Lamb/Wolf are to the Engineers is OPEN for Debate....
We have to look DEEPER into David and the Plots... its about Creation is what Ridley Scott says...... and David had Created his Wolf a Monster he calls Perfect in which he has SHOWN he can Create something BETTER than the Engineers.
I dont think that David will go all the way to Origae-6 to just Create like Thousands of Xenomorphs and nothing ELSE.... he could just go to LV-223 and be there and ON another Engineer Ship and off to Earth to BOMB us before the WY company even get the Advent Message.
He saw the Potential with the Engineers, but also Flaws, he despised Mankind and In-superior and how they Treated him and how we think we are so Important. And yet he did seem a bit Fond of Dr Shaw, he also wanted to Evolve her and Create a New Eden on Planet 4.
And so when looking at RS saying its NOT going to be about Xenos but WHAT WORLD that David would Create.... i think the Human Embryos are KEY and that he maybe is looking to CREATE a Hybrid to EVOLVE those Human Embryos...
I dont think David is Content to go to Origae-6 and Pretend to be Walter a Servant and to HELP the Humans build their Colony.... and Daniels knows who he is and would TELL everyone so he has to Deal with her... if he KILLS her, then HOW does he explain that to Tennessee who may be Suspicious.
David is a Megalomanic, he sees himself as a Creator a GOD.... and so its likely he wants to make his own EDEN where he can Declare himself as Creator and God and be Worshiped....
I suspect he may USE some of the Colonists... to begin to Build the Colony on Origae-6 where he may pretend to be Walter and have some Excuse for the Death of all the Main Crew...... then once he has the Habitat set up.. and Infrastructure i would NOT be surprised if he KILLS the Humans he had awoken...
Then he can Raise those Human Embryos... declare himself as Creator... but i suspect he would EVOLVE them somewhat.......
The Prequels were about Creation and Knowledge, had Humanity behaved and followed the RULES then the Engineers would likely had been Content with us.... just as GOD was before it came to the Point he had to SMITE US...
A Child/Baby are Innocent, they can be Raised and Influenced into any kind of Believe, Religion or set of Rules/History which could be Fabricated by David. And they may be Evolved a little.... and THESE will be Davids Flock of Lambs.. this would be the KIND OF WORLD that he would Create.
This is HOW i saw the Sequel would go... however if your Creation goes WAYWARD then you Need a Punishment or Deterrent... this is WHERE we will see Davids.... WOLF come into Play.
I made such Theory and Ideas after Alien Covenant in 2017...
How would these Human Children or Hybrids view seeing other Humans especially if Davids Children are Evolved and look different... if these Children see other beings in the LIKENESS of their Creator or even in their Likeness (if they look Very Human) and these Humans make Claims that David is NOT a Creator then this would CAUSE some Conflict....
And what if Walter Returns... or a Incoming Ship has another Walter, and these Children of David then see another being in his Likeness who then INFORM them that THEY (Walter Model) are a Creation of Humans and David is the same then this would PROVE that David is a SHAM!
They could TURN on him and REJECT him..... in which case David would have to UNDO his Work with his WOLVES.
This is NOT to say this is HOW the Movie would have been... there are MANY ELEMENTS and HOW you could USE them, and when we look at them ALL as i have Detailed then you CANT FIT this into a Movie you NEED like 2-3 Movies.
But i dont think Fans would want such a LONG WINDED way to get to ALIEN it could be... "GET US TO LV-426 ALREADY"
And so THAT... plus how Disappointing that Alien Covenant was... has meant CURTAINS to any kind of Conclusion.
What does this do to those Human Embryos now Children (or OLDER if David can accelerate their Growth/Age)....
Well it depends on HOW you look at its Origins...
As a Engineered Creation (by whoever) then you have THREE OPTIONS.
1) That Various Versions of the Xenomorph are Created which USE like Different ways to Procreate.....
RS had indicated the Derelict had Numerous Cargo Holds and each had something a bit Different... (going on to say it had 8 Variants). If we consider this then the Jordens from ALIENS may have got infected by a Face Hugger from a Different Cargo Hold than what Kane had.
2) The Xenomorph would eventually Evolve into a Queen or a way to Create a Queen.
3) There is just ONE kind of Xenomorph on the Derelict and it USES the Egg Morph to Create a Queen.
If you go for the Xenomorph as a Native Species that is NOT Created then OPTION 3 would be the way to Explain it (if your going to Accept the Ovamorph Scenes).
OPTION 3 makes Perfect Sense..... you see in ALIEN the Xenomorph had Captured just TWO CREW... and so ONE would be Egg Morphed the other would become the HOST for the Face Hugger and then you have....
TWO XENOMORPHS....... but then why not go and use Lambert and Parker to then get you.... THREE XENOMORPHS?
If the Egg Morph Process makes a Queen which can LAY EGGS, then you only need TWO HOST which is ONE for the EGG and the other to Gestate the Queen. This has always for a LONG TIME since late 80's been the way i look at how we have the Egg Morph and the Queen.
Regarding the Black Goo it was something that was Quite Simple to begin with, which then got a little Muddled with the Comics and with Alien Covenant it became some what of a MCGUFFIN....
The Early Conception with say Alien Engineers/Alien Genesis was that we came from the Engineers via their DNA was Imprinted onto us in the Past.
It is Implied this was from the Sacrificial Scene... which in those Drafts was as Follows.
1) Elder Engineers give the Younger Engineer a Black Box, in which there is a Cake of Dark Sticky Material.... from this comes Tiny Scarabs.
2) The Engineer brings this Cake Substance to his Mouth and the Scarabs Swarm him and they Bite the Engineer, they begin to Devour Him (we Zoom into Microscopic Level and see Cells Rapture, Protein and DNA Unravel) The Scarabs fill themselves with the Genetic Material.
3) The Engineer is seen bring Devoured and he takes a Cruciform Pose (like Christ on the Cross) while the Scarabs are eating him from Head down until what remains of his Body just Falls down while it is still being consumed. and then his Body (essentially these what must be Hundreds of Thousands of Tiny Scarabs Eat the Engineer until NOTHING much remains).
4) We then arrive at a Scene of a Primitive Woman... and a Black Scarab arrives and lands on her Neck and Bites her.... INJECTING a Cargo of DNA (when then go to Microscopic Level again and see her Cells are being Changed by the DNA the Scarab has Injected) We then see a External Shot of her with Pupils Dilated with shock, she looks at her Hand and the Scarab then just disintegrates to DUST.
This SCENE implies that these Scarabs can Consume a Organism Molecule by Molecule, and they then STORE this Organisms DNA. These Scarabs will then go off and Find other Life and INJECT the DNA of the Organism they Consumed into a New Host which will INFUSE the DNA and Create a Hybrid.
The Next Time we see Scarabs is in the Engineer Complex, stored in URNS/JARS...
a) Fifield runs off after Milburn is attacked by a Centipede like Creature, as he runs he then runs into a Resinous Jar and it Breaks, it releases a cloud of Motes that are Tiny Scarabs, and they Swarm him, and he Swats them and Kills some and they Produce a ACID which then allows the Scarabs break into his Helmet Visor and then ONE BITES him.
b) We enter a Microscopic Level again and see ALIEN DNA that Invades his own DNA, similar to what happened to the Primitive Woman.
c) However Fifield is Mutated into a Beast with Elongated Skull, Longer Limbs a Horrific Hybrid, which when its KILLED has ACID BLOOD.
This shows the Scarabs stored within the URNS pass on a ALIEN LIKE DNA there was a Number of Concepts drawn but this Fifield is FAR more ALIEN than we saw in Prometheus.... this SCENE seems to imply these Scarabs had Consumed this ALIEN DNA from something....... which would indicate the Engineers had USED these Scarabs which are essentially a TOOL to Capture DNA from one Organism and PASS this onto another to Create a Hybrid.
So this means the Engineers used this Hybridization Tool on some ALIEN ORGANISM which is likely the Octopus looking Face Huger that infects Holloway in these Drafts. The Result is they take the Scarabs after they consume a Organism and STORE the Scarabs in URNS which are USED to Drop onto WORLDS to then INFUSE the DNA the Scarabs have Stored onto Life on this World a much more Efficient Method than the Engineer Sacrifice.
BARE THIS IN MIND...... as it helps to make sense of PLANET 4 and WHY the Engineers welcomed the Juggernaught... but this is for after.
NOW.... when we get to Prometheus we have the Sacrificial Scene which could imply this is HOW the Engineers DNA got to become US, but RS had mentioned the Engineers do this on Many Worlds and they Return over and over to Continue with such Evolution.
Here the BOX is replaced with a CUP/BOWL and the Black Sticky Cake is replaced by a TAR like Substance that begins to Dissolve into a Liquid.
The Urns we see in the Ampoules is a Black like Substance that looks like as if you had some Ground Coffee in Water or other Tiny Particles..... which when Activated will Mix with the Water/Liquid to Ooze into a Black Slick Oil like Substance.
Prometheus gets a bit Confusing based on its Various Infections...
I) Hammerpede comes from the GOO infecting in Large Dose those Worms the Crew had brought in to the Complex from outside.
II) Fifield becomes a Mutant, his Exposure vs his Size is NOT as High Dose, its keen to mention other Concepts again we see Fifield is LESS HUMAN than we end up with.
III) Dr Shaw is infected by some of the GOO either Evolving some of Holloways Sperm Cells or the GOO itself infects one of her Eggs. As the Egg Cell is a Base for Life (most Stage 1 Embryos of Life on Earth all look the same/similar) then it has LESS DNA to Re-Write and so the RESULT would be something that has MORE DNA of what the BLACK GOO contained.
IV) Holloway is a Enigma, he only has a Small Dose, which he passes on to Dr Shaw in smaller Dose (or Mutated Sperm) Holloway seems to get unwell and then his Skin Turns Grey..... he is Killed before we see the Full Effect, but RS had said he was suffering the same Effect as Fifield and the Engineers who died just more SLOWLY.
V) EYEWORM... The Eye-worm we saw with Holloway is Interesting and a Puzzle but some of the UNUSED PROPS/EFFECTS we see when Holloway begins to turn GREY we see small Worm like things growing out of his Skin. These could be his EVOLVED SPERM CELLS..
Or it could mean that the Tiny Scarabs from earlier Drafts had become Tiny Worm like things....
something to NOTE is that Human Sperm Cells may look like Tadpoles under the Microscope but the Collection of Millions of these without just appear as a STICKY GOO.... thats some Food for Thought.... i conclude its likely the Scarabs where replaced by Tiny Worm like Parasites... but the FUNCTION is the SAME.
IF we assume this is CORRECT then the GOO is actually Easy to Understand just as the Scarabs were in the Early Drafts....
So if we took the BASE (Scarabs/Worms) and released them on a WOLF.. then we collected the Scarabs/Worms/Goo after the WOLF has been Consumed and then release these Scarabs/Worms/Goo on a Human you would get a WEREWOLF.
Do the same with a CAT and you get THUNDERCATS... with a Turtle you get TMNT etc.....
Take one of these Werewolves and infect them with the BASE and then collect the Result and release this on the Thundercats and we could Speculate you would have a 25% Wolf, 25% Cat and 50% Human Hybrid.
If we consider such a Theory as Accurate... this basically is WHAT we saw that David was doing on Planet 4, using the GOO in many ways to Take Traits from Various Organisms inc the Neomorphs to make various HYBRIDS.......
This Process seems to be indicated in the earlier Drafts of Prometheus (Alien Engineers/Genesis)...... so you SEE the GOO if we look at it in this WAY is Pretty Easy to Explain and FITS with everything we are shown....
Apart from the Planet 4 Bombardment.... but i have a few Theories on that.
