Weekend 24 for Godzilla Minus One ended with it at #7. (FranSpeech) It increased its total to 7.39 Billion Yen ($49.95 Million). (EigaRanking, Kogyotsushin) It jumped from the #99 highest-grossing film in Japan to #96. (Kogyotsushin) Its attendance now sits at 4,893,231. Minus One will continue to be in Japanese theaters through early May alongside Godzilla x Kong. It's expected to see another boost during Golden Week (a series of Japanese Holidays taking place from April 27th-May 6th).

- 2nd highest-grossing/attended kaiju film in last 13 years.
- 4th highest-grossing domestic 2023 film in Japan.
- 4th live-action Japanese film to pass 6 Billion Yen in 10 years.
- 5th highest-grossing 2023 film in Japan.
- 8th most attended Godzilla movie in Japan.
- 96th highest-grossing movie in Japan.
Charts have been updated in the original post.
04/15/2024a:
Weekend 22 saw Godzilla Minus One finish #7 at the Box Office having broken the 7 Billion Yen barrier with 7.13 Billion Yen ($48.1 Million). It is now only one of four live-action Japanese movies to break the 7 Billion Yen barrier in the last 10 years. It continues to be the 8th most attended Godzilla film in the series with a massive attendance of 4.70 Million. It has now been in theaters for as long as Shin Godzilla and will continue to rack up the numbers. It will break 7.2 Billion Yen tomorrow.
04/15/2024b:
Weekend 23 of Godzilla Minus One and it's still in the top 10 at the box office. This weekend it finished at #8. It has hit 7.31 Billion Yen ($49.55 Million), making it Japan's 99th highest-grossing film of all time. (That includes foreign films released in Japan.) Its attendance has grown to a staggering 4.83 Million.
The question is whether or not it will be able to hit 5 Million before it gets released on Home Video in Japan, May 1st. What's more impressive is that the Yen's worth next to the dollar has plummeted to Heisei Godzilla era numbers and despite Japanese audiences being tight on money as a result, it has managed to be less the 1 Billion Yen away from Shin Godzilla's final gross.
how come after all these years being on this website that I never saw this article!!!!!
Yes, I love AVP Extinction, I wish it had a PC port
wow based on the description it looks like the Alien bursts out while the small ship is leaving/escaping.
I am guessing that moment possibly causes this disaster
Indeed it sounds horrifying and I can not wait! Can't help but feel the water scene is a homage to Alien: Resurrection's water chade scene. With every update I see for this film I only get more and more excited!
From the looks of it, it's definitely a man in a suit.
If the Xenomorph has digitigrade legs, but it's still a man in a practical suit, this is possible

Apparently it's a practical suit (well I guess in some instances/to some extent maybe) and judging by a few reactions, the overall vibe of the scenes were old-school Alien, so based on those factors I think it'll be plantigrade legs.
I would personally prefer digitigrade legs though as it adds a certain aesthetic of "animalistic aggressiveness" for the lack of better words.
Nice find Nebula! Front paging the Xeno banner!
Damn that's intense!! And the absolute horror of being chased by a large amount of unseen facehuggers in water at knee-level to slow you down...It doesn't get more nightmarish than that!!
Certainly! While I'm generally not a fan of directors taking influence from video games (despite the fact that I love games), Alien Isolation is a big exception because it's so close to the source 1979 material while delivering phenomenal POV scare tactics, coupled with the masterful, thick and razor sharp sound design. Additionally I think the characters are interesting and well-grounded without being exaggerated like in many other games. Amanda Ripley- albeit more or less a mirror of her 79' mother in action, isn't an invulnerable super soldier, but a terrified, vulnerable but also capable survivor. Hopefully the characters in Romulus are similar imo.
awww, bye bye Hawaiii
Thanks for the links Neomorph. It's so great hearing the positive feedback from the sneak peek review.
Knowing it has similarities to Alien Isolation gets me more exciting. It's pretty guarantee the visual is going to be great. Now I am hoping a good story, good acting and good music.
A few parts I picked up from a post- reaction video:
[Mild spoilers, and Alien Romulus part starts at 03:51]
https://youtu.be/v7ZG-HGP5jg?si=jMyeHkia9a8nev27
- The Alien appearance is closer to the older films, less fluid movements.
- The film has similarities to Alien Isolation.
- Look and feel of the original films.
Hype!! Here's a link with additional info from the comments section in the video link provided by Jonesy

I love the "Dark Design" one, the facehugger looks beautiful
Looking forward to season 2 of Monarch, but I really hope they make efforts to connect with the movies' writers before they start filming. Can't have another Stephen Randa situation happening again before it gets out of control.
Also, hopefully we get some more insight into Project Powerhouse in the spin-off shows. Lots of potential there.
Scrolling through X, everyone who got to see it at Cinema Con is very much pleased. My excitement just went through the roof.
Also, a better look at the Xenomorph from the IMDb ads.

Another fan poster by "Dark Design":

You're killing it in this thread!! Absolutely hilarious stuff!
Humans: Let's go explore that abandoned space station.
Xenomorphs inside:

Haha the green duck was totally a younger more pissed off me (hey it's better to be pissed off than pissed on amirite ;) on the keyboard after watching Prometheus.
I'm sure Fede will do a great job regardless of the connections to the other films.
Miscellaneous Notes:
1. Godzilla is a mutated member of an ancient superspecies of aquatic synapsid-like creatures that coexisted with humanity during ancient times. The average height of these creatures was around 150 feet tall. Godzilla is around 350 feet tall.
2. The Anunnaki play a background role in several movies leading up to Destroy All Monsters. APEX uses their metal to build Mechagodzilla or Alan Jonah is an android built by the aliens to use to free Ghidorah from Antarctica. The aliens also play a role in manipulating world governments into destroying Earth’s Titans.
3. The Annunaki (or the Ancient Aliens) are Sumerian-esc aliens from Planet X. They resemble Ancient Astronauts.
4. Ghidorah doesn't generate a storm around himself. Humbaba the Terrible does it instead, making him look like Alioth from Loki.
5. Three different options for the final boss are Ghidorah, Jörmungandr (the World Serpent) and Humbaba the Terrible.
6. A portal/rift to Planet X is situated in the Hollow Earth. Ghidorah came to Earth through this portal/rift.
7. Ichor’s kingdom is a massive, frozen region with fossilized Titans littering the landscape. His personal lair is located in the heart of a dormant volcano.
8. Unlike in the official MonsterVerse, Shimo is a polar bear/dragon hybrid.
9. Godzilla fights Jinshin Mushi in Axis Mundi in the finale of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
10. Buraq is a pegasus-like Titan who acts as a guardian of the Hollow Earth Iwi. She is my version of the unused monster Fosphera that was supposed to appear in TNE.
11. In GVK, there are four battles: Skull Island, Tasman Sea, and Hong Kong.
**CREDIT goes to artist Jared Modina for creating Buraq as one of his original MonsterVerse Titans.**
Fede Alvarez: I love all of those movies, I didn’t want to omit or ignore any of them when it comes to connections at a story level, character level, technology level, and creature level. There are always connections from Alien to Alien: Covenant.
Alien Quadrilogy and prequels enjoyers:

Folks who expected Romulus will ignore and retcon prequels:

Hahahaha damn good!! You even put an apron on the xeno XD XD
Thank you very much.
Damn, I think I made that in 2016, I feel old.
