BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumThe Engineers (Sub Creation)

I think YES it was RIGHT to make the Engineers appear more Human as THIS does FIT with the Ancient Astronaut kind of PLOT where Many Accounts of Ancient Gods/Religions have our Gods as being VERY HUMAN looking.

If we introduced a RACE who are ABOVE the Engineers and their Creators, do we then make them LESS HUMAN?  I think maybe but maybe you DONT make them too FAR APART and ALIEN looking?

"Last thing we need is to venture into Star Trek / Star Wars universe"

Who knows what the PLANS would have been for RS had the Prequels been a GREAT SUCCESS!  I think he would have SHOWN us Various Worlds with Various Races and i do think some would be Humanoid but Different and so i would NOT say that he would have STEERED AWAY from being a bit of a Star Trek/Star Wars.

It would be Interesting to see what Arcturian Poontang looks like as in the Arcturians as a Species.. are they a Creation by the Engineers? could they be a Creation by David?

"She is like the drug dealer"

Indeed MonsterZero thats a Interesting take on it by Michelle.

Mortality is something that is of GREAT FEAR for Many.  With Peter Weyland he was a MAN of Science and you can BET that he UNLIKELY had any FAITH in a Magical God who lives in the Clouds and HAVING a Immortal Soul that would LIVE ON after Death for THOSE who have Faith and Loyalty and Worship to the LORD.

You can be SURE that he had made MANY kind of Medical Advances that could Cure many Ailments and Illnesses but we are still STUCK to that BIOLOGICAL CLOCK that will ONE DAY... just STOP TICKING.

Our Peter Weyland being 100 Years Old and knowing he is Coming Close to Death, must have came to the Conclusion that there was NO-WAY he could Achieve any kind of Longevity or Immortality he was soon to be at DEATHS DOOR, and so for HIM when he Received the Quiet Eye message from Dr Shaw, he saw this as a LAST DITCH Effort to FIND a CURE for his Mortality.... in the HOPE that Dr Shaw and Holloway are Correct and they will FIND our MAKERS.

Then our MAKERS could surely grant Weyland more LIFE.

And so YES its via the HOPE that Dr Shaw and Holloway are Correct that Weyland has that CHANCE that he could be Saved/Extend his Mortality.

But i do think that PRIOR to this LAST DITCH... with NOTHING TO LOSE. I think that Weyland would have had some Obsession in TRYING to FIND a way to Extend his Mortality through SCIENCE.

In the Idea i had for Prometheus 2 in 2013 i had touched on WEYLAND as FAR as WHAT he was doing to CHEAT DEATH and it would have GAVE more of a Reason to WHY he was so INVESTED in A.I and David......... for maybe this was PART of his PLAN to CHEAT DEATH.

When Ridley Scott had said that IN-PART that Prometheus was about the SOUL and IMMORTALITY i dont think he had PLANS to show us that when we DIE we DO go to HEAVEN!

I think it was to SHOW that the Faith of Dr Shaw had been Proven to be WRONG about WHO our Creator is.... and so its LIKELY that her Faith is WRONG about the After-Life and Soul.

We see Weyland kind of MOCK his Creation.... saying he is Immortal but has NO SOUL.... when IRONICALLY it is David who is Actually the ONE with a IMMORTAL SOUL and a AFTER-LIFE.

Even our Creators the Engineers could NOT go and Achieve this... they are MORTAL AFTER ALL...... but they had Managed to Prolong the Degradation of their Bodies... beyond the Limits of the Human Body, but for the Millions of more Years they have been around you would ASSUME they had TRIED to Achieve their OWN kind of IMMORTALITY.

The Pitch for the Prequels by John Spaights seemed to Indicate this.

Even the original '54 film was aimed at adults, but had elements to keep kids in the seats.

I disagree heaviy with this statement. I can say for sure, that if I had seen that film as a child, I would not be interested in godzilla. I dont get how a child could sit through long courtroom discussions, or stand watching nother child scream because thier mother died from radiation sickness.

Singular Point was entertaining through the characters to me. And exposition spouting isnt the best description for them. What they say is believable its more of them learning. Take a look that the scenes when Yun realizes anguirus can see into the future.

Tono is creating a lot of Godzilla themed content for children right now. Godziban and chibiGodzilla are examples. And Godzilla in shinkalion movie as well. I dont feel that Toho is avoiding children, but what we’re being exposed to are the more adult themed films. Godzilla is branching out, and not just to adults.

I think what we see here is that the show is a hit with hardcore G-fans. That's to be expected. But I doubt it did much to extend Toho's reach to anyone else. Now, many G-Fans are purists and want to keep their fandom to themselves, and think that's fine. So maybe that's okay.

Like I said elsewhere in my house we have kids ranging from toddler to teen. NONE of them enjoyed this show (barring the Anguiras fight episode). This show is aimed at adult otaku, and adult G-fans in particular.

I'm never thrilled when adults take over a fandom and make it exclusive to themselves. (Tarantino Star Trek? Ugh.) Even the original '54 film was aimed at adults, but had elements to keep kids in the seats. Good writers know how to craft stories to satisfy their full audience.

At least there's enough other (older) Godzilla material to satisfy others. We've got a huge library to choose from. But Toho's on the wrong track in the current era.

After finally finishing the show, I can honestly say its one of my favorite animes. The story-telling was there, the character building was solidified, and the monsters were satisfying to watch on-screen. Godzilla was portrayed really well here, and I love that they played with the cinematography to really ground him as a God in his own right. I can't wait to see this again.

I think Godzilla has always worked as a fighting game and it can be improved upon with the software and tech we have today. Destructible environments can be upgraded now and the map sizes for the arenas can be increased. I'd rather have a Godzilla game that focuses on bringing out some of the monsters' true combat potential and destructive capabilities while also just being a badass fighting game. Its completely possible, and it has cinematic potential.

CHAPTER 10: THE ESCAPE

Locale: Planet Nagaigo, Scott Town

The investigators raid the Videl, they extract the information from her computers before taking their shuttles to the snuggem’s last recorded location.

Locale: Cerberus Station, Planet Julianos.

A massive anchorpoint station orbits above the green gas giant Julianos, the weyland-yutani logo plastered on almost every wall. There in the main labs, the yautja youngblood was strapped to a medical bed. Sarachande slowly awakened to a bright medical lamp, oomans hovered over him as they checked the computers to read his vitals. He looked at the table on the farside of the room, there a facehugger laid dead in a dishpan. Near the ooman doctors were scalpels covered in thick light green luminescent blood. He then looked down and saw a stitched incision on his chest, glances at one of the oomans carrying a cylindrical container no doubt containing the predalien chestburster. The ooman doctors quickly glance at sarachande, they begin to panic as they try to pacify the young yautja. Sarachande remained eerily calm as they sedated him.

Locale: Planet Nagaigo, Snuggems Crash Site.

Zerachande leads his clan across the rocky landscape, their wrist computers sending a signal into their biomasks. Zerachande moves ahead of his clan onto a large boulder, he switches vision modes to electrovision. The snuggems were crawling with the kainde amedha, their exoskeletons illuminated green on the electrovision. Zerachande signaled his clan to quiet down less they draw the attention of the hard meats. Frustrated, the xenomorphs began hissing aggressively at each other. The biggest of the drones, fired its inner jaws into one of the more submissive ones. The smaller drone fell to the ground bleeding profusely; shrieking in pain. The bigger drone seized the smaller drone’s left back tube and tail, lifting the injured one above its head. The smaller drone shrieks as it struggles to free itself but its screams are cut short when its body is thrown into the snuggem’s hull. Chitin, soft organs, and acid blood crash and splash against the ship’s hull. The blood eats its way through the ship, creating a whole the size of a chair. The big drone shrieks to rally the others. One by one, the xenomorphs squeeze themselves into the hole.

Zerachande watched in the distance as the kainde amedha butched one of their own to gain access to the ship’s interior. The elite yautja signals his people to advance away from the crash site, not wishing to endanger his clan when the odds are not in their favor. A pack of runners hiss from a nearby crevice, Zerachande growled as he deploys his naginata. The runners charge into the yautja full of zeal. Zerachande impales one, he shoves his naginata in further with all of his might. The runner shrieks as acid blood drips from its wounds. The runner raises its claws in the air before bringing them down on the yautja elite. The claws scrap against his biomask and pauldron. Zerachande head butted the xenomorph, dislodging some of its teeth. The runner falls backwards, its body twitches in its final moments. Swayande was fending off a runner with his combi-stick, while Rouyeyine deploys both of his wrist blades to take on the kainde amedha himself. Tass-dhou-di fires his burner into one of the kainde amedha, its copper-exoskeleton explodes into a shower of acid. The xenomorphs at the snuggems turn their attention onwards towards the rocky landscape. A second large drone led the remaining xenomorphs outside of the ship towards the boulders. A human shuttle zooms overhead catching the lead drone’s attention.

The shuttle pilot looks down from his cockpit, “Oh that’s not good” he stares at the xenomorphs gathering on the ground. “Base, this is eagle-1. The Snuggem’s cargo is compromised. Specimens are loose and about, I repeat, Specimens are loose and about; over” the shuttle retreats across the horizon. The second big drone leads the rest of the xenomorphs in the opposite direction of the yautja; they now travel west in the direction of the shuttle. When the shuttle arrives at Scott Town, it flies over the massive electrical fences that surround the colony perimeter. Large bulldozers return from the south passage, its tires covered in arrows fired by the natives. The shuttle lands in the starport, its pilots come running out in a panic. The pilot, Jacob Malory bursts into the department of transportation’s office. “Mr. Housse, sir! Mr. Housse, sir!” The pilot was out of breath.

“What is it Mr. Malory?”

“Sir about my report..” Before the pilot would rereport his findings, he is interrupted by a voice over the computer.

“Mr. Housse they are back again” said the gate guards, “Damn natives” Mr. Housse curses.

There stood two teenage nagaians, the girl was dressed in a fur bikini and the boy was dressed in a mixture of furs and bone armor. “Akae and Takashin” Mr. Housse spoke over the computer, “What do you kids want this time?” Mr. Housse asked.

“Our elder has fallen ill, we beg of you can you spare us your medicine? ” Akae asked politely. Akae was typical of Nagaians in general build, if somewhat shorter than average and her companion Takashi is typical of male nagaians in build, muscular and tall.

“Look I know you people are struggling and all but this isn’t a Red Cross, we are running low on our own supplies” Mr. Housse barked through the computer, “Look I’ll cut you kids a deal, we just lost a shipment, maybe if you go look for our missing shipment; I’ll let you have some of our stock, sound like a deal?”

The two young nagaians exchanged glances at each other. Before the nagaians could reply, Malory started shouting, “Sir, I found the shipment!”

Mr. Housse turns around in his chair, “Geeze Malroy, I was in the middle of something? Shut up! Wait what did you say about the shipment? You found it?” Mr. Housse was intrigued, “Sorry Kids, better luck next…”

“Wait sir, this is important, it affects them as much as us!” Malory interrupts again.

“Heh, sure it does” Mr. Housse disconnects the feed to colony gates.

“Sir, the specimens are loose. If left unchecked they could be here within a day” Malory continued, Mr. House glared at Malory before reconnecting the feed to the nagaians outside.

“Well kids, it's your lucky day. Come inside, my assistant will take you to the pharmacy” Mr. Housse spoke through the computer. He then turns to Malory, “What? I’m a hardass, not an asshole” he spins back around in his chair.

The colony blast doors slide up into the gate frame, Grahnnnn, the door locks in place. Akae and Takashin crossed into the threshold. They see another blast door on the other side of the tunnel-esque gatehouse. Grahnnn, the blast door behind them shuts closed. Grahnnn, The blast door in front of them then opens up. The two nagaians wander into the colony, Mr. Housse’s assistance walked up to the teenage natives, she gestured to Akae and Takashin to follow her.

“We built schools for these aliens...I mean natives and what do we get? Moochers and thieves” a man whispered to his colleague while glaring at the two nagaians passing by.
“Hey at least Nagaian poontang is better than arcturian poontang, am I right guys?” commented his friend. The others burst out in fits of laughter, while the glaring man exchanged a serious stare to his colleagues.

Later that evening, on the outskirts of Scott’s Town the xenomorphs gather behind the boulders. The lead warrior hisses to the runners to scout out the perimeter. The runners slowly climbed down into the valley, the dirt reeked of gasoline and the scent of prey. The quadrupedal xenomorphs carefully snuck behind any large rock big enough to conceal their forms, waiting for nightfall. The runners have picked up two large sources of prey scent, the colony beyond the rocks and the scattered small boulders between them. The runners splitted into smaller packs as they head off to both prey sources. The leading runner pack dash out from the cover of the large rocks, they quickly overrun the few guards guarding the colony entrance. A few runners try to climb over the gate house only to be zapped to death by the electric perimeter fence.

The second runner pack swarms over to the seemingly random rock placements. The runners can smell the scent of prey all over the rocks. A curious xenomorph runner pushes the small boulder with its head. Once the small boulder was dislodged from its original placement, the scent intensified. The runner hisses joyfully at its accomplishment, the other runners glance at their sister. The accomplished runner squeezes herself into the small crevice, her tail thrashes around before slipping deeper into the small hole.

“WARNING! INTRUDERS AT SOUTH GATE!” the colony computer blared over the intercoms. The colonial security force awake to the alarms, they quickly leap out of their beds as they dress themselves. They then rush to the armor to don their weapons and body armor before heading to the gatehouse and the security control room. The guards in the control room viewed on multiple monitors, the south gate entrance was swarming with copper colored banana head creatures. The runners were dragging the outside security personnel away from the gates. The security force opens the gatehouse as they rush into the tunnel, the gate closes behind them as they double time to the next gate door. The blast door opens to the outside, the security force begins to fire on the xenomorph runners. The ones they manage to hit schriek as they fall over dead. The other runners quickly drop their prey as they bolt towards the security guards. The guards fire open the creatures but the eyeless bastards when directly confronted were too fast to hit. They tackle the guards, head biting into their skulls before moving on to their next target. One of the remaining guards drops his M41A Pulse as he rushes over to the security panel, seeing his friends being butched or dragged off into the night; he didn’t want to suffer the same fate. He pulled down the emergency switch, and the blast doors began to shut close. The guards turned in terror as the blast door began close behind them. One of the runners bolts towards the closing blast door, its slender form manages to squeeze beyond the closing doors into the gatehouse tunnel.

The runner spots the security guard attempting to release the city door, fast like lightning the runner closes the distance between predator and prey. The interior door began to open, the runner was startled by the opening of the blast door for a moment. The coward guard attempts to run past the copper xenomorph, the runner quickly refocuses her gaze back to the guard. She charges into the fleeing human, sending him flying across the pavement. She launches her inner jaws into his spine, crippling the coward before bolting off into the colony interior. The security force in the control room scramble to close the interior gate but it was already too late, one of them had already entered the colony.

The remaining security force scrambled to hunt down the runner but alone a xenomorph is extremely crafty. The runner instinctually took to the air ducts to hide from the humans. She observed from the grates as the security teams began their sweep. Her senses picked up an electrical source, she navigated through the ducts to the powerstation. She removes the grate separating her from the powerstation interior. Her slender biomechanical form spills out of the air duct, she raises her head as she rises on her hand legs. She lunges at the power box, clawing it before firing her inner jaws into electrical components. The electricity surges through her biomechanical body, knocking the little xenomorphs backwards. The runner falls on her face, dead.

The powered doors suddenly all open, with the exception of the blast doors. Sensing the fences no longer were producing an electrical current the runners screech out to the warriors. The lead warrior growls to her packmates as they press the attack, the bipedal xenomorphs charge straight towards the colony gates. They quickly overran the colony walls as they entered the colony, the remaining security force began opening fire into the warriors but they were quickly overpowered by the black xenomorphs. The colonists hid inside their rooms as the sounds of gunfire and xenomorph screeching echoed in the halls. Valerie awakened from her cell, she peeked through her cell door’s window. She saw security running past the window port, and they began opening fire at something.

Valerie began banging on the door, “Hey what's going on?” she asked. “It's none of your concern, citizen. Remain where you are and hide” the security officer demanded.

A man screamed not too far away, “Shit!” the security officer bolted past the door. Valerie continued to look through the small window. She could see the silhouettes of the guards' shadows passing by a wall before disappearing into the adjacent hallway. Gunfire, followed by the howling screams of the officers. Then a dead silence.

Valerie continued to peer through the window. Finally a shadow graced the back lit wall, it wasn’t human. Banana-shaped head, two dorsal tubes on its back with a single dorsal spike in the center of its spine, and a long scorpion-esque tail. Valerie’s eyes widened in terror as memories of her cocoonment came surfacing in her mind. Valerie dashes to hide her under her bunk as the xenomorph turns its gaze towards the cells. It lets out a sharp hisses as it approaches the door.

Love this.

I'd love to read a Peter Weyland adventure. He must have searched for the answer at some time in his life......not in a trillion dollar spaceship like the end of his life......But maybe testing an experimental light speed vessel or something.

I have a hard time thinking he sat around a office all day....During the great space expansion....Maybe sat around a office aboard a starship all day.

They needed it to survive extended amounts of time. A fish doesnt immediately die when taken out of water.

I dont feel that the show lost track of itself. It was very focused and my irk was that we didnt see Ultima enough the payoff was enough for myself and others I know.

”Clearly the appearances of some of these kaiju was fanservice. The Hedorah goo? The Mothras that had no impact on the story at all, and simply disappeared the episode after they appeared? Kumongas that look like Kumonga one minute, then Kamakaris the next?”

I dont see your problem in this. Much of the kaiju were original, like the Kanegas, not kumacras or kumongas. The hedorah just showed how weird kaiju get, which resoldifies this idea in the audiences mind. At least the “fan service” comes with good writing. For example I thought the mothras helped the Apocalytic themes in episode 11.

I honestly dont see why you take so much issue with the characters. Like shin godzilla there is no time. Theyre all rushing and especially when Mei learns of the catastrophe. Its not traditional character work, and In my opinion doesnt detract from the story.

One thing I love about the show is it isnt the normal format. Its Godzilla Comes and they stop him. They know hes coming and have to try to prevent him, and dont stop the catastrophe, they avoid it. (avoid is always used not stop)

KingKaijuGojira

Its very evident not all kaiju need the archetype dust as you said. I do not think Goji needs it, bu using it to turn earth into the demension where Goji came from.

Can the Rodans evolve to not need it?

Maybe. I mean anything is possible.

Does that imply that MechaGodzilla is finished, it may go berserk like Kiryu did?

No I do not think so, we saw that in GvK recently. The bones were emitting the song which attracted the rodans, but I think SHIVA was the source not the bones. So I think theyre just bones.

CHAPTER 16

They stood in their battle stance, staring at each other. Zilla Jr. was getting distracted by a deep rumbling in the ground that grew louder by the second. Godzilla was getting curious too. Then, a  dense beam of atomic destruction shot up from the ground in between Zilla Jr. and Godzilla.

This was an ancient species that was on Earth when Titanus Han-Kami was on Earth. Long ago. Titanus Han-Kami’s home planet was laid waste due to meteor strikes. Long before the rogue planet destroyed it. The planet was a huge uneven piece of rock floating in space. There were still Titanus Han-Kami on the piece, but since there was minimal atmosphere, they went into a type of stasis. Those chunks that had been knocked off had thousands of Titanus Han-Kamis. They were frozen in stasis. Most of them traveled through a wormhole into the Solar System with Earth in it. Some chunks got swallowed up in the gas giants. Others crashed into moons, dwarf planets, other planets, but the only one where they survived was on Earth. They landed on this new rock, and they found an enemy. The Extinction Gojira, an ancestor of Titanus Gojira. Their backs were straight, they had huge tails and a big mouth. The Titanus Han-Kami wanted to live in peace, but no. Every few hundred thousand, an Extinction Goji would be born disabled and weak, but would have the power to mutate into something stronger. One of them mutated 3 times but needed to get older before she mutated again. But only after 3 mutations, she was already one of the most powerful animals in the world, being behind older, more mutated individuals. But when the Titanus Han-Kami came with their mutated type, it rivaled the Extinction Gojira in power. The more mutated individuals were too old and weak to fight so they were the first ones to go. The younger, less mutated ones were the ones that gave the Titanus Han-Kami a challenge. Over time, she and her allies slowly overcame the Titanus Han-Kami force, and drove them extinct, thus earning the name Extinction Gojira. It was during this war that the Titanus Han-Kami had built the chamber in which Zilla discovered and killed Jira.

After the Titanus Han-Kami’s planet had attracted more and more rock, it began to become a planet again. After millions of years, the planet started thriving and the Titanus Han-Kami in stasis unfroze and began living again. But, just as they were settling down, a rogue planet comes and destroys it. This time, only two Titanus Han-Kami land on Earth; Jira and Xilla. And one Titanus Ghidora landed on Earth; King Ghidora.

But soon, the Extinction Gojira also went extinct, with the most powerful individual being buried under miles of rock. But she woke up when she sensed a large Titanus Han-Kami. This Extinction Gojira’s name was Shin.

Overall, It Was Awesome!!! Interestingly they altered Rexy's design a bit, she looks somewhat bulkier (probably don't want to know what she's been eating) and she looks more like how she did in Jurassic Park, they even fixed her wrists to give them a more scientifically accurate position! Absolutely Michelle, the ROLE of Weyland was Changed more to FIT with his NEED to gain IMMORTALITY and i think it was GREAT Change. There are a Number of Hints to WHAT is Immortality in Context to the Franchise.

Weyland is a Pioneering Scientist... i am sure he had TRIED HARD to Attain a Longevity before he could NOT really become IMMORTAL and so he Turned to Dr Shaw and her Gods as a Desperate and Last Ditch Effort to LIVE.

There are a Number of Interesting Underlying Themes that could have been Explored more, the Potential was there for THIS to be more than a Creature Feature.   I am sure that Peter Weyland was NOT the First Creator who THOUGHT he should NEVER DIE.... i think our Engineers had attempted this too.  But in the END they were also MORTAL after all.

"The story has been hijacked by this David-focus"

It seems that THIS was the Main Force behind the Prequels, looking back before Alien Covenant (inc the Drafts) there seems to had been 3 other sets of Concepts,(where it was about David)  and IF the Source i had was Correct then even prior to THEM what we had again was a Story that was Central to David.... and WHAT he would Create.

Some Fans are ok with this, to Degree and others SIMPLY do-not want any Story about Androids....

And so when i mention ALPHA-RACE i mainly think that you could go and EXPLORE another Race who are ABOVE the Engineers, they could be LESS-HUMAN or even Totally NOT Humanoid.

I only Mention such a Race in Context to David in regards to WHAT i think was going to come NEXT and so in that Case it would NOT have been a ALPHA RACE but more a OMEGA RACE.

I suspect that David would Create a more Perfect Human Species from those Human Embryos and he would Charade to them that he is their GOD and Creator...  UNTIL other Humans Turn up and his Creations then DISCOVER their TRUE ORIGINS and Davids... and well thats when Creating those beings becomes a DOWNFALL for David.

And so i SUSPECT that the Space Jockey would have been either David (in a Newer Synthetic Body), one of Davids Creations (Humans MK2) or maybe another Synthetic who is TRYING to STOP what David intends.

It may have ENDED UP being a Engineer but i SUSPECT that RS would have Thrown some Curve-balls that LIKELY would have Ruffled more Feathers.

I just dont think MANY Fans would be Happy at such though....

I do THINK that the Franchise could Explore other Races that Created the Engineers or that the Engineers had Created and by doing so either in SETTING a STORY that is FAR FAR AWAY or a VERY LONG TIME AGO... or Both

BigDaveAlien: Romulus 2 NewsRidley Scott considers Prometheus a mistake.

Well that is the Problem... because if you look at ALIEN R, AVP and AVPR and looking at ALIEN V then it shows that the Writing Staff just DONT have anything Good to Provide us, they all seem Revolve around Xenomorphs.

The WAR OF THE WORLDS is a Interesting Comment, who knows what he Meant?  There is the Potential for that in the Franchise, but you RUN the Risk of Conflicting with the ALIEN Franchise.

If we have the Future after AC and so 2105-2122 where you have David and his Creations, VS the Engineers, VS Mankind then THIS would Conflict with ALIEN and more so ALIENS.

Unless this ELEMENT comes to PLAY after the events of ALIENS/ALIEN 3 or if the Prequels would CLOSE that Time-Line to ALIEN in that we END the Conclusion with the Derelict Landing down on LV-426 like 2-5 Years before ALIEN.

Then AFTER we have ALIEN we have more of Davids Horrors, we have more of the Engineers we get a WAR OF THE WORLDS.... But this would Conflict ALIEN!

NOT if RS would remove ALIENS from Canon....

Ridley Scott said you could BRING BACK our Ripley... you could DE-AGE her and so we have to WONDER as to WHAT he meant?

Replace Alien 3 and Alien R?  Or could he mean to do a ALTERNATIVE set of Sequels to ALIEN that would FIT with his War of the Worlds Vision?

But you could ALSO just Explore a FAR FAR away Place in the Galaxy that Humans from Earth have NOT even Visited, so you have Engineers,  other Worlds, Creations!

But WHAT about Human Characters?

Well can we just ASSUME that the Earth is the ONLY place that had Humans in our Galaxy/Universe like for Thousands of Years?

BUT how would we Understand them?  Easy Sub-Tittles for a BIT and then they Speak English for our Convenience!

No BODY has a Issue with STAR WARS we have Humans in a Galaxy Far Far Far Away..... you really think Humans in a Galaxy Far Away would SPEAK ENGLISH?

And so its for our Continence (to a Degree) and so YES you can Explore other Areas of the Galaxy, with other Humans and then DO the War of the Worlds with that.

THEY could show us that Humans had came from FAR AWAY and Hundreds of  Thousand of Years ago and THEN after some WAR OF THE WORLDS the Engineers had taken some HUMAN Survivors to Earth to BEGIN again... and THIS is where our History begins.

P R O M E T H E U S was made very very quickly. The change of the mission purpose and placing Weyland on board, with a character that became his daughter was as late into the movie as much as the sets were build for a creature break out rather than something more existential.

The fact that the prologue of AC predates Prometheus rather like the extras (The Ted Talk and Quiet Eye) shows the film maker trying to give more context to Weyland and his relationship with his creation but that patently does not help the casual film goer.

The literary driver that Damon introduced of Prometheus was powerful but the connection with Mary Shelley's book could equally have acted to steer the story through the territory with greater subtlety and nuance.

Weyland was a decrepit old man trying to bend the rules with two children neither of whom loved him whether organic or otherwise.

When I was asked to back into my work and retell the films story I went someway to addressing these issues by making the narrative knowing and having a much more detailed conversation go on between Weyland and David. Equally Meredith has a proper arc and her eventual demise underwrites one of the key ideas of this story as well providing Janek with the chance to tell the audience what had actually happened on the Moon.

However last year a friend who is a professional proof reader edited the story for me and he observed as a non involved reader that Weyland appeared to come out of nowhere. My response was to think about adding a flash back which finds Weyland speculating on his growing sense of mortality on the Mars Orbital of early Spaiht's scripts and his musings being interrupted by the quiet eye interventions of Elizabeth. She is like the drug dealer with the solution to his need and he ignores the implicit dangers of her offer. In my original story Elizabeth repeats the error with an even more dangerous invitation so one would be a prelude to the other and remind us the road to hell is paved with good intensions.

I think this expansion into a much more sophisticated environment could have worked but the creature (a foot note) should have been seen off and through looking at Weyland, David and Meredith in more detail the first film could have set up and hinted at what would be found.

The second film could have given power to the first film by making it clear all the answers really were in the first one by analogy and echoing.

I think the PROBLEM we had to look at is that Different Fans would have Expected Different things.

The BASIC Premise would have been to GO where David and Dr Shaw were going, which we would ASSUME was where the Engineer had said he was from.

Dr Shaw would have been WANTING to know as to WHY the Engineers Created us, and WHY they would come to Visit us and LEAVE some CLUES to the Location of LV-223. She would WANT too know as to WHY show us WHERE this Weapons Facility is Located, and WHY they Intended to Destroy us, WHAT had Happened to Cause our Creators to WANT to do this.

SHE would also be Wondering as to WHO had Created them (Engineers).

These are SOME of the Questions that some Fans had Wanted to know.... it seemed THAT these were LIKELY to be Answered to a Degree.

But some FANS would have been MORE Interested in finding out WHAT that Place was (LV-223) when and from WHAT did those Experiments come from, and the Black Goo.  While ALSO wanting to see more of the Engineers Technology and Horrors.

WHILE you had some FANS who had Wanted to know.. HOW THE HELL does LV-223 connect to LV-426 and the Xenomorph?  Maybe also HOW those Eggs got on the Derelict and maybe they would wanted to KNOW as to HOW the Xenomorph had Originated..... (It Seems that THIS is WHAT the Studio Felt that Fans would WANT to know more about).

You would HAVE to look at the Engineers Agenda and Purpose... it would SEEM that going around and Creating Horrific Weapons to UNLEASH on their Creations is ONLY a SMALL Part of what they do.... you could ASSUME that they ONLY do this IF they deem their Creations a Failure, Rebellious or a Potential Threat (or if their Creations Deeply Offend their Creators).

So THIS would be Important as to HOW would the Engineers react when Dr Shaw had arrived and STARTED to DEMAND some Answers.

The Creation, Sub-Creation, Rebellion and Hubris in Creating something Sentient and Intelligent seemed to be the LARGER Under Layer Theme!  As well as the Hubris of trying to EVOLVE yourself/Creations and PLAY GOD.

But  a LOT of People had Overlooked the Role of David in all of this, he is that HUBRIS, he has his OWN desire and Agenda.  He is NOW FREE, he would NOT want to go back to then BECOME a Servant to a Species he sees and In-superior, he is NOT impressed with Humans.

He is also NOT IMPRESSED with our Creators, they are NO GODS! they are mere MORTALS and its ONLY their Knowledge, Tools (Goo) and Technology that IMPRESSED our David. He may think these would be GODS are NOT worthy of being Creators and having all their Technology.

And so you could Expect that David would see POTENTIAL that was WASTED in what the Engineers had been doing.

The other VERY IMPORTANT thing to Consider with David is that he wants to SURVIVE!

And so DAVID would be the Driving Force of any Sequel, for the Reasons i had put above, and it SEEMS that THIS is what the Main Plot would have been about in the PLOT despite Changes from 2013-2015 they all have in Common that it would be ABOUT what David is going to WANT/DO Next.

The Change to AC still FITS with the Plans for David, only such a Plot Change had meant we would KNOW LITTLE of what Dr Shaw had wanted to ASK the Engineers and we saw Little of Her and the Engineers.

“However i think HAD we seen RS get to Continue with the Prequels then such a ALPHA Race would actually be Created by David on Origae-6 and maybe become the Space Jockey on LV-426.”

No thanks, it's too much about David already. I'm not sure if you support such a thing but I think that they shouldn't have anything to do with David. Hopefully Disney would give him a big no in case that would be his idea. To me that would be to destroy the prequels but Scott is too much into the android-thing and I don't find it interesting.

In case they would introduce another life-form then they shouldn't have anything to do with David at all. Hopefully this would take away some of the focus from the android-thing. The story has been hijacked by this David-focus. Maybe they could kill him off early in the movie and carry on with things that are more interesting. They could have the AC-Engineers in it but have more about other kind of Engineers that could be more interesting. I think that the prequels need writers that are good at what they are doing and an director that knows his or her limits and that doesn't interfere with the story.

The alpha-race that you suggest would be created by David seems to be so and so. Why should everything be about an android? The existence of something above the Engineers seems like an interesting idea so I'm not totally bashing your suggestion. What I am against is David creating them. If they have tried something in two movies and the result has been a mixed bag then it seems foolish to me to continue with it. Hopefully they will reduce the role of him heavily, I'm tired of it. Some other life-form from somewhere else could be interesting so in that way it could expand the franchise. The focus on the android has made the franchise smaller, because it could be so much more interesting.

Thoughts_DreamsAlien: Romulus 2 NewsRidley Scott considers Prometheus a mistake.

In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo30bZc10D0  Scott says that the alien-franchise should be as The War of the Worlds, the problem is that he doesn't explain how. If you don't explain what you mean by a comment like that, then it can get confusing.

You might be right that's what he means but he isn't clear about what his vision is. Contrary to that he made Alien Covenant about a mad android, that isn't to expand the alien-universe, that's to make it smaller. Not to say it's what Scott wanted but that's what happened.

Scott has ideas but he isn't a writer, let him throw out ideas and then people can say yes or no to them but leave the writing to those that know how to do that. Understanding your limits isn't wrong.

The question is: who are the writers that have the ideas and that can write interesting stories? It worked with Alien 1, 2, and 3. Who are the writers that can do that job while at the same time being able to stand up to studio-pressure?

Exploring more about the Engineers is a good thing since they added something new into the franchise. It would be a shame to never hear about them again in what ever way it might be (games, comics, whatever). Please expand the universe, don't go back.

How about an Engineer as a final boss so to speak?

Seems like it would be FUN.

I Wonder if some DLC will come down the Line that would introduce the Engineers it would be Interesting to see what Engineer Weapons would be like and maybe they can THINK OUTSIDE the Box a bit and NOT  just give us Plasma Blasts and Lasers.

Seeing a Bio-Mechanical Exo-suit for the Engineers could be COOL and NO i dont mean the Queen-Suit that Ripley as in the ALIEN V Concepts.

Something where the Bottom/Leg Area is like a Bio-Mechanical Crab/Spider/Scorpion would be COOL.

Well, seeing as Godzilla Unleashed was my favorite game growing and seeing as Godzilla Kaijuu Daikessen is currently my favorite tournament fighter, I would say the MonsterVerse or any other continuity could do well with a fighting game.

Yeah, I still don't understand it. If the Rodans needed red dust to survive, how did they appear in the beginning without out? The dust came later. The song called them, but then the song wasn't responsible after all for their appearance?

I'll chalk some of this up to bad subtitles, but it was so confusing, I think the producers lost track fo what they were doing.

Clearly the appearances of some of these kaiju was fanservice. The Hedorah goo? The Mothras that had no impact on the story at all, and simply disappeared the episode after they appeared? Kumongas that look like Kumonga one minute, then Kamakaris the next?

Then there was an entire appearance by Anguiras which was supposed presented as a plot point to give JJ the "battle weapon" he'd need to defeat Godzilla (because the horn could predict attacks before they happen), then he doesn't even use it in the final fight. What??

It's too bad, too. The idea of creatures that could evolve in real-time was interesting. The idea of them being the 3D result of some 6+D dimension was interesting. The idea of monsters that were hard to beat because they had precognition was terrifying.

But too many ideas dropped so they could introduce new ones just as fast.

Still miles better than Planet Godzilla ("hey, let's make a show where Godzilla takes a whole episode to move four inches"), but I'm concerned with the direction that the Reiwa era is shifting Godzilla. In each outing, Toho gets a mere few minutes of footage that are memorable (Shin G's breath attack is astonishing, and instantly iconic), surrounded by HOURS of exposition and flat characters.

At least the Showa and Heisei human characters were interesting, even when annoying. These new scripts are pumping out characters that appear written by an AI bot.

Same, It looks really cool. I'm wondering what difference there will be between the prehistoric Giga and the Modern Giga (since the prehistoric rex and ankylosaurus look slightly different from their modern versions).
