There were ideas that I liked and the animation was fantastic, but I feel like the series got bogged down too much by the over bearing technobabble. A little bit is fine, but when 90% of the dialogue is made up of it, it becomes extremely jumbled and hard to follow. Heck, there were times where I was wondering if the characters even knew what they were talking about. It felt like there was too much going on at once and the plot became too convoluted and confusing, it got to the point where I had a hard time trying to comprehend what was happening. The fact that they kept flip flopping between the origins of the monsters (ranging from them being prehistoric, them being from space, them being deep sea creatures, them being from another dimensions, to them evolving from the red dust) really annoyed me, seriously pick an origin and stick with it. It really made me appreciate the simplicity of the the other Godzilla stories. I also find in ironic that the series is made out of technobabble and exposition dumps, yet there's things that they flat out don't explain why did the blood of the Sarunga/Megalon/Kumonga creature come to life and become Hedorah-like creatures?, Why could Godzilla Terrestris's blood become tentacles that protected it from harm? What was the Shadow Rodan? How did Salunga get into that facility? None of this was explained and it just added to the confusion.

The new monster designs just felt uninspired to me, there were aspects of them I liked, but for the most part they felt really unoriginal. Looking at Salunga, Godzilla Amphibia, and Godzilla Aquatilis I couldn't help but think of how much I would rather be watching Gabara, Varan, and Titanosaurus and how it would have been cooler to see them return instead. Godzilla Ultima looked amazing though.

I mentioned Godzilla feeling like an afterthought. He doesn't fully appear until the end of episode 6 and then doesn't actually become Godzilla until the end of episode 10. Even when he's finally in the show they barely show him, there are long periods of time where they cut away from Godzilla and they barely mention him, there are times where it almost seems like they forget about him. I like a good build up (I love Godzilla 2014 for that reason), but when you spend 2/3 of the series waiting to see Godzilla in action, only for them to barely show or mention him, it's pretty annoying.

I didn't hate it, like I said there were things that I enjoyed (I sure as hell liked it a lot better than the Polygon Trilogy), but there was a lot that dragged it down for me. With all of the hype, I had big expectations for it, but in the end I just felt let down. I may watch it again in the future and my opinions may change, but as far as my initial reaction, I was just really disappointed.

I find it interesting that the most praise that I've seen being given to it (besides the animation) is that "different" and that it's not the MonsterVerse (or that it's not "American"). To me the reactions that I've seen feel more like a "Japanese Godzilla vs American Godzilla" situation with fans arguing over which ones "better", which I find kind of ridiculous.

I think it Certainly looks like it would MAKE a Interesting and FUN Video Game ;)

Its NICE to see them Explore some of the Engineers Worlds/Buildings/Ships etc as the Engineers play a LARGE ROLE in the Experiments/Pathogen that PAVED the WAY for the Xenomorph.  Its also INTERESTING to see some Alternative Monsters related to those Experiments/Pathogen

Here, here. Second time watching the show and I'm truly sucked in to the world, the procedure and the ideas. I'll likely watch it a third time, once again in Japanese again just to check out Netflix's subtitles. Though I'm surprised at how well the English dub sounds. Johnny Yong Bosch (the Black Ranger from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) is a perfect English speaking Yun.

Also, Dman on youtube did a tremendous cover of Sawada's, Alapu Upala, (another example of the mirror concept Mei brought up with "6=9"). Looks like we'll be getting a few different variations of this fantastic piece on the soundtrack, but until then...

THis is where I disagree with you. The main thing that really stands out about this show to me is how original it is. Rather that the same pattern that much of the godzilla media follows of Monster vs Monster, or Godzilla comes on land, stop it.

"Other ideas constantly contradicted themselves, at one point they state that monsters like Gabara-I mean Salunga could control the red mist and then in another scene they state that the monsters were created and controlled by the red mist" I honestly dont see your problem with this. Im pretty sure, that the second statement was never said.

"Godzilla himself kind of felt like an afterthought and it almost felt like they kept forgetting he was there, he seemed more like a special guest star as opposed to being one of the main focal points."

This isnt a problem. Godzilla wasnt even the main focus of the Original movie.

"I didn't really like that the "new" monsters and Godzilla's early forms just recycled design elements from older monsters." I thought they were fantastic! Salunga was an amazing deisign and the more I look at it I see Gabara and Baragon less and less. JUst because it has a horn and the sam skin color doesnt mean theyre the same kaiju. It came off more mmonkey like.

The show kept me entertained the entire time and everything seemed very intentional. And I say again, it isnt bogged down by the usual format of ultraman and monsterverse, and much other godzilla movies.

Unpopular Opinion:

I didn't really like it that much... The animation is amazing and there's some really cool moments. But the story was way too convoluted and confusing, most of the show is focused on a lot of overly complicated technobabble and it was extremely hard to follow (it felt like there was too much going on at once). The series kept flip flopping on it's plot points and it seemed like the writers couldn't decide on certain details, the fact that they kept changing the origins of the monsters and the origin point of the song became extremely annoying, it's like they were just throwing out ideas to see what stuck. Other ideas constantly contradicted themselves, at one point they state that monsters like Gabara-I mean Salunga could control the red mist and then in another scene they state that the monsters were created and controlled by the red mist (Which is it?). Most of the characters were okay, although I felt like the AIs were more annoying than cute, especially the whole Jet Jaguar talking like a baby bit. Godzilla himself kind of felt like an afterthought and it almost felt like they kept forgetting he was there, he seemed more like a special guest star as opposed to being one of the main focal points. I didn't really like that the "new" monsters and Godzilla's early forms just recycled design elements from older monsters. I didn't completely dislike it, I did enjoy it way more than the Polygon trilogy. Overall I had really high hopes and I just felt a bit letdown.

My current rating is 2.5/5 (Mixed Bag)

CHAPTER 11: THE FIGHT

Locale: Planet Nagaigo, catacombs.

The runners and shortly afterwards; warriors, slid into the tight crevices of the holes that were formerly covered by the small boulders. The cramped tunnels then opened to a massive chasm. The xenomorphs curle themselves into a ball as they plummeted into the dark waters below. As they sink, they unfurl themselves, they swim gracefully to the surface. Their dorsal tubes burst through the water like shark fins, followed by the top of their head and their long segmented tails.

The Nagaian braves were alerted by the splashes. “Halt, who goes there?” shouted the nagaian brave, as he approached the dark shores. A long segmented skeletal tail rises out of the water followed by an elongated ribbed and seemingly eyeless head. The Nagaian brave reaches for his spear as the rest of the beast arose from the water, two humanoid arms and legs attached to a vaguely skeletal biomechanical torso. Without hesitation the xenomorph warrior dashes out of the water, the nagaian brave barely had enough time to block the warrior’s initial attack.

The warrior grabbed the Brave’s spear, its biomechanical muscles bulged as it applied pressure on the bone spear. The warrior hisses as it shatters the bone spear into pieces. The Brave falls backwards as the xenomorph falls onto all fours, the warrior raises its head to face the brave. He barely caught a glimpse of something crawling on its back. The Brave charges towards the warrior, the warrior rises on its legs as stretches its hand out to grasp the nagaian by the face. The Brave’s eyes widen as he is thrown to the ground, the warrior pins the nagaian to the floor as a facehugger comes crawling down its arm. The Brave struggles but it is no use, the warrior turns the brave’s head to face the larval xenomorph. The facehugger wraps its finger-like legs around the nagaian’s head and its tail around his throat.

The warrior hisses to the other xenomorphs to attack the Nagaian Village. The braves assemble charged in with their spears, swords, and axes. With the strength of the Warriors and speed of the Runners, the xenomorphs overpowered the braves’ best efforts. The nagaians lucky enough to die quickly were cut down by the xenomorph’s claws, impaled by their stinger tails, and their skulls crushed by their inner jaws. The unlucky ones were gathered to be cocooned and later implanted. The xenomorphs chased after the few nagaians that managed to flee. As their prey headed for higher ground, the xenomorphs suddenly halted their pursuit. The warriors and runners returned to the raised village, they recycled the bodies of those slain into building material for their new hive.

Meanwhile, Valerie resigns to her bunker as the xenomorph peered in the window. Valerie could barely see the human skull buried within the xenomorph’s dark translucent face. The lights die out, the door slides open. The emergency lights kick in, red lights illuminate the room. The xenomorph slowly approaches Valerie, its mouth drooling profusely as it makes its way to her. Valerie was paralized with fear as the xenomorphs halted its movements, its head jittering as it peels back its lips. It opens its jaws, drool and spit comes leaking out as its inner jaws extend from the dark recess of its mouth. Valerie closes her eyes, fearing the worst is about to come. The xenomorph retracts its inner jaws, instead the xenomorph grabs a hold of Valerie’s head. The creature carefully examines Valerie, the transparency of its face becomes more clear when up closer. She could barely make out that its eye sockets weren’t so empty, she only saw it for a moment, solid black orbs caught the refractured lens of light.

The xenomorph lost interest in her from the neck down as it repeatedly kept examining her head time and time again. It was her brain, the only thing left of her that is human. The alien is confused whether to ignore her or take her in as a host or eat what little biomass she had. The smell of her synthetic body was keeping it from doing the latter, but yet it continues to hold her in place. Valerie barely caught a glimpse of a heat shimmering, was there a gas leak? She didn’t smell any gas. The xenomorph shrieks in her face, its clawed nails bury themselves deep into the scalp and the back of her ear. White fluid oozes from her wounds. Valerie was just mere inches away from a serrated blade sticking out of the xenomorph warrior’s sternum. However some of its blood is now eating away at her shoulder. The xenomorph thrashes its tail. Valerie saw the heat shimmers forming around the alien’s tail, the exoskeletal plating buckles in as if someone is squeezing it. A pair of metal blades seemingly manifest out of thin air , above the warrior’s tail. The blades come down slicing the creature’s tail off. The xenomorph howls as it crashes into the bunk, valerie was forced to lay next to the collapsed monster. Valerie saw a massive spear sticking out of the xenomorph’s back. Valerie then looked up at the heat shimmers, Valerie heard a series of clicking noises out of nowhere. Soon the heat shimmers gave way to a tall muscular alien creature wearing armor and fishnets.

He retracts his wrist blades as he retrieves his combi stick out of the dead xenomorph. Valerie watched as the new creature kneeled down on the dead one. With a quick slice with its glaive, it removes the xenomorph’s head. Valerie could feel the creature’s grasp on her head weakening. She sighs in relief, the combi stick is then stabbed into the floor between Valerie and the xenomorph. She is lifted up by the head once more, the yautja gives her a hard stare. “Error...error..damage critical” Valerie pretended to be one of the “stupid” synthetics. The yautja just gently tossed her to the floor before grabbing his combi stick on the out.

Nice to see something DIFFERENT some of these have ELEMENTS/DNA of some of the UNUSED Concepts for BOTH of the Prequels.

The Screens are Interesting what do we HAVE is this on a SHIP or a OUTPOST if its a OUTPOST is it somewhere on LV-223 that we have NOT yet Seen.  I HOPE that this PLACE is NOT on Planet 4 unless its the INSIDE of a SHIP thats Docked Underground on Planet 4

What i have NOTICED is that the Engineers Technology/Architecture is more Mechanical than Organic as we saw in ALIEN i can ONLY assume that THEY have Decided to STEER AWAY  from the Bio-Mechanical HR Giger Aesthetic for some Reason.

I say that as THESE SCENES look LESS of a HR Giger than in Prometheus/Alien Covenant (Juggernaught)

Well thats the THING you could SHOW a Engineer getting Chest Busted in a Cut Scene then the Player Turns up Days after and we have our BIG Deacons.

The Original Deacons (likely the MURAL) may be Different to the ONE in Prometheus, i say this because the Trilobite was Essentially a Human/Morph Hybrid (it had Hair) so the Deacon also have a Higher % Human DNA than say a Neomorph or Xenomorph may have.

But Certainly the Prometheus Plot does OPEN UP a whole HOST of Worlds and Various Horrors, it does-not have to come down to LV-223/LV-426 and Planet 4

David did-not just PULL those Eggs out of the AIR it was not a Case of Black Goo + Dr Shaws Egg Cells = Xenomorph.

There are Various Horrors he Created/Experimented with on the ROAD to his Eggs.

And so its LIKELY the Engineers had Concocted Various Horrors on their PATH to the MURAL Organism.

LAPTOP BACK! YAAAY!

dont question why i posted this at like 12:50

This chapter is based on an old fight that sadly never happened that I planned to write. So I decided to write it in this story.

jvcifcveicfkr9

I’m just happy to be finally writing again...my hand was just itching to.

(song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF8Ybi2V59g it makes sense as soon as you read the first line lol. And it picks up just at the right time, if you read at the same speed i do)

KRYSTALIZOVAT: CHAPTER THREE

THOU SHALT NOT KILL

Mothra had heard the Alpha call. ‘Eeehh...Godzilla? He’s awake? Wait, no. That’s not him. It’s not Ghidorah either.’ She crawled from under the opening of the temple and opened her wings and lifted. She flew. ‘Who is this mysterious Alpha? Did something happen to Godzilla? That can’t possibly be!’ Thought the moth as she flew all the way to the mountains.

Beeeeee….beeeeee...meeee beee…’

‘What in the world could that possibly be?’

It sounded like the cry of a helpless baby, not unlike a Mothra caterpillar. The Queen stopped in her tracks and instinctively looked down to see a grey larva. It was plump like a tick and its lower half tapered into one like not unlike a caterpillar’s. It had long red eyes. It looked helpless and badly hurt. The moth’s motherly instincts drove her to land and comfort the creature. ‘Oh, little one, what happened? You poor thing!’ She cried as she wrapped a wing around it. It sniffled. ‘Big white...crystal...throw me. Hurt!’ It timidly squeaked. ‘Awww, poor baby. Don’t worry, I’m here now. Where were you when the crystal person hurt you?’ She asked, hoping to get enough answers to give this kaiju a piece of her mind. The larva lifted its face out of her chest fur and looked to the mountains and pointed. She immediately narrowed her eyes. ‘Krystalak.

(song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAqOV9p3_2A couldn’t barely think of anything so have this! Its still relevant!)

Krystalak awoke from his sleep and stretched. Time for his first full day of kingly duties! He yawned and put in one more good streeeeetch! before he dashed into the cave and appeared from the hole that was dug (the “door”). He inhaled deeply and took in his surroundings. Krystal walked to a lake to drink. He saw a couple kaiju in the distance but they were far enough away from his territory for him to care. They did look remarkably similar to some kind of synapsid. As he drank leisurely, he saw something skimming in the lake. He assumed it was nothing and he didn’t bat an eye. Suddenly, it started rushing towards him!

AAAARRRRAAAAAH!’

‘OH SWEET JESUS!’

The crystal kaiju leaped back as the faintly red blur under the water screamed at him. He growled at it. The blur jumped from the water with a splash. GIANT CRAB THING!

‘THE HECK?! A GIANT FREAKING LOBSTER?’ Krystalak shrieked. He hated lobsters. He never trusted them, with their freakish weird eyeballs and giant claws. ‘SO YER THE NEW ALPHA!’ The lobster cried. ‘LET’S JUST SEE HOW TOUGH YA ‘RE!’ Was the giant lobster seriously challenging him? Time for cappon magro. Krystalak leaned on the floor on all fours. ‘I DID FIGHT AND DEFEAT GODZILLA SINGLE-HANDEDLY! I’LL WHIP YER ASS WITH YER OWN TAIL, OVERGROWN SHRIMP!’ He boomed. Before the red crustacean could prepare, the King cackled and zoomed towards him. He pushed the lobster into the lake and began to wrestle him. He grabbed hold and twisted off an antenna as the lobster yelped. The crustacean clobbered the synapsid with his pincers and dragged him farther from the surface. Damn, this was a deep ass lake. He could just see the surface, yet it was so far…

Damn Krystal, snap out of it! YOU’RE GOING TO DROWN!’

He screamed to himself.

He snapped his head down to his enemy and hit him upside the head with a surprise swing of the tail. The lobster refused to let go. Krystalak was almost gasping for air at this point, so he decided to get it over with. As the crystals glowed, the red kaiju attempted to drag him farther down.

Prism Surge!

Right to the face, the oversized shrimp gargled and let go. The crystal beast cried with joy and leaped from the water with an over exaggerated gasp. He turned behind him to see the disoriented lobster rise again. ‘WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT?! SOMETHIN GOT YER ANTENNAE IN A PINCH?!’ Krystalak yelled back. ‘I was testin’ yer strength,’ he tilted his head, ‘New Alpha.’ he chuckled. ‘YA ALMOST KILLED ME!’ The King shrieked. See, this is why he hated lobsters! You can never trust them! ‘HAPPY?!’ He jumped back again. ‘Who are you anyway??!’ The lobster raised his claw in a passive manner. ‘Ebirah.’ He pointed. ‘You are?’

‘Krystalak. Now scram before I boil you alive.’

‘You almost did that anyway.’

The therapsid growled. This dude just won’t leave him alone. ‘Ok. I get it. Now go! NOW!’ Krystalak was in a ‘mood’. Great way to start the day. ‘Ok! Ok! Gimme a sec, then I’ll be outta yer….crystals.’ He turned tail and began to retreat. Finally. This Ebirah guy will give him a break. He let out an exasperated sigh. He turned only to be hit in the face full-speed with raging moth fury.

‘OW! THE F-’

‘KRYSTALAK!!’

(song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ypvg1WC-m-Y)

Oh no.

He tumbled back with the sudden force. Mothra lifted herself higher into the air. ‘KRYSTALAK.’ She said in a stern voice. She may not have looked like it, but Mothra was damn scary when she wanted to. ‘WHAT? WHAT DID I DO?!’ He barked. ‘You know.’ She motioned to the area where the worm kaiju had been thrown the previous night. ‘WHAT? W-’ He started before he was interrupted. ‘The MUTO!’ The Queen yelled. ‘What the fu- is a MUTO...OOOH that worm thing? Yeah, that little brat was trespassing on my property!’ He argued. ‘You shouldn’t have thrown them! That poor thing was stuck in the cold all night, all beaten up! Why would you do that to a poor baby like them? You need to be more responsible!’ She argued back. ‘I am! By protecting my territory! Everyone does it!’

‘Just because ‘everyone is doing it’ doesn’t mean you need to chuck children miles away! Is this what you do for fun? Drop kick babies?’ Mothra snarked to him. ‘N-no! No I don’t! Not unless they break into my house! And don’t you have anything better to do?’ Krystalak snapped. Mothra surveyed the area with a mocking expression. ‘Well, do I?’ She said after viewing the pretty non-eventful area. ‘Uh, ignore what I said. But I’M SORRY, OK? I WON’T DO THAT AGAIN ALRIGHT? NOW GET OFF MY TAIL!’ He scrambled back. ‘Krystalak, do you know what being in your position entails?’ The moth suddenly replied. ‘What? What’s that have to do with kids?’

‘Responsibility.’

‘What?’

‘Don’t what me. You’re the king now, Krystalak. That is a huge responsibility. I know you’re new to this, but I’m pretty sure you would have some common knowledge! Krystalak, do you know what this responsibility entails?’

He was about to double down but was without an answer.

‘DO YOU? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS RESPONSIBILITY MEANS?’ She quickly snapped in a stern, angry tone. Krystalak looked away with a sheepish expression. ‘DO YOU KRYSTALAK?’

‘You’re a king now. Start acting like one.’

‘Y..yes m’am.’ He nodded.

Mothra sighed. ‘I know you will, Krystalak. I know you have it inside you. I expect you to make the right choices.’ Then she was gone.

Krystalak let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. ‘Goddamn…’

‘SHREEEEEEEIIIIIAAAAAAOOOOOOOONGGGGG!!’

What in the ever-loving crystal bed was that?

‘An Alpha call…’

Krystalak would now have to put Mothra’s speech to the test. From the sounds of it, this call was miles...MILES away. Better start going.

This was going to be a fun one.

Little did he know, this encounter would be one of the most important ones in his life.

I think another Advantage to having the Engineers is it ALLOWS them to be HOSTS to introduce like more ELITE kinds of Xenomorph etc with like 50% More Damage and are able to take 50% More Damage in Return.  Or you could have it that THEY are DOUBLE that Bonus.

So it allows us to have 10-12ft Tall Xenomorphs, Neomorphs etc.

As Far as ADULT (Engineer Born) Deacons i would Estimate the ADULT would be about 12ft

CHAPTER 17

Zilla Jr. glared at Shin, knowing that she was an ancient enemy of his species. Godzilla was confused. He did not know who this was, but by looking at Zilla Jr.’s and Shin’s reactions, he could infer that they were ancient enemies.

“It’s one of you again.” Shin growled.

Zilla Jr. growled back. Then, they both looked at Godzilla, just standing there.

“Who’s this dude?” Shin asked.

“I’m Godzilla, current alpha of the ti-”

“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Didn’t you just see them bowing to me?” Zilla Jr. interrupted. “I’m the new alpha!”

“No, I am!” Shin interjected.

“Shut up!” Godzilla and Zilla Jr. said in unison.

Shin was about to say something but she started writhing in pain; she was mutating again.

“What the hell?” Godzilla said.

When she was done, there was no noticeable difference. She was still jet black with a slight purple hue, but her eyes glowed bright purple for a second.

“Now, do you want to become alpha, Zilla Jr.?” Shin said slowly while her eyes flashed purple.

Zilla Jr. tilted his head and as his eyes flashed purple, he said “Y- ye y- yes.”

“Now, do you want Godzilla to live while you are alpha?” Shin growled slowly as her eyes flashed even brighter.

“N- n- no.” Zilla Jr. said as his eyes glowed purple and stayed.

“Then kill Godzilla, and we shall be alpha together!”

“What? NO!” Godzilla yelled.

Zilla Jr. turned toward Godzilla. His eyes glowed brighter as he lunged forward and clawed

him across the snout.

Zilla’s head snapped up, and so did Xilla’s.

“Something has happened to Zilla Jr.!” Xilla yelled.

“Yes, we need to go find him.” Zilla said.

Godzilla kicked Zilla Jr. off and sent him flying. He got back up at lightning speed and sprinted toward Godzilla. Zilla Jr. didn’t even make any noise. All he did was panting and breathing. He jumped up on one leg and slammed Godzilla to the ground with his other. He readied to fire his atomic breath when a cry rang out through the fog.

Zilla Jr. snapped his head up robotically and looked to where the sound came from. Zilla and  Xilla revealed themselves from the fog.

“Don’t do this! You are better than this!” Xilla yelled.

Zilla looked at his son’s eyes, and back at Shin’s eyes and whispered to Xilla about it.

“The only way to stop the mind control is to kill the source!”

“Okay, I’ll try and distract Zilla Jr. and you go kill her!”

Zilla agrees and approaches Shin.

Zilla Jr. steps off Godzilla and walks toward Xilla. His eyes flash a little bit. He is trying to break free. He takes another step and readies to jump toward Xilla, but Godzilla grabs him by his shoulders and throws him aside.

Since Shin can only control one titan at a time, including herself, she is defenseless and limp. Zilla found something inside of him he had never felt before. He was now powerful enough to use his atomic breath. He took a deep breath and exhaled as hard as he could, and a blue flame exited his mouth and slammed into Shin. She gets thrown back. Zilla jumps on top of her and starts clawing and biting.

Zilla Jr. jumps back up and hops on top of Godzilla’s back. He then exhales a green flame that engulfs them in an inferno. Xilla took a deep breath and fired her atomic breath at the inferno, and it made a reaction that produced a shockwave which knocked Zilla Jr. off Godzilla.

Zilla has almost made it through the hide to the rib cage but Shin’s eyes turned back to normal

as he fired her purple beam at Zilla. He jerked his head to the side and the beam grazed his right eye, blinding him. She then kicked him off her and sent him flying.

Zilla Jr. stood up and shook his head, only to see Godzilla running at him.

“Wait, wait, wait!” Xilla yelled. “He’s back to normal!”

“What just happened?” Zilla Jr. asked sleepily.

“I’ll tell you later!” Xilla said. “We need to go help your father because you coming back must mean that Shin is now normal.”

They ran toward Zilla, who had just gotten up.

“How can you defeat me, if you are too busy fighting yourselves?” Shin said intimidatingly. But before she could mind control someone, Zilla Jr. started charging up a dense beam of radiation. The rest of them start to do the same. All of their eyes glowed their prospective color. Then, they fired at a point halfway between Shin and them. Their beams met and combined into an absolute ray of doom. The ray engulfed Shin and immediately vaporized her.

The show was ranked #3 on Japan's Netflix over the last few weeks. It takes more than a hardcore fanbase to accomplish that.

The hardcore fanbase showed up and largely love King of the Monsters in theaters, but the general audience didn't seem to pick up on it.

That said, anime is already a niche style in the west these days. If we're speaking of the English-speaking or Western fandom alone, we have to consider that much of the audience is already nerfed by the anime genre wall.

Toho has been doing a great job experimenting and twisting the per-concieved notions of the franchise over the last few years. If it's not very inviting to some younger audiences, that's fine since there's plenty for them in it already. There's no, "wrong track" for a franchise this diverse and while I can understand having issues with the series from an execution standpoint, the idea of asserting the franchise is not diverse enough to include stories that only appeal to specific demographics feels myopic.

I want to see Engineers as an elite enemies/mini-bosses. Because in this case you will meet them more often.

KaijuBuildzGodzilla Video Games ForumWhat style of Godzilla game would you enjoy most?

I've voted for Arcade-Style Fighting Game solely for the fact that the format fits the Godzilla franchise so perfectly yet over the many years hasn't explored the full potential of it.

When you think about it, there are actually very few 3D FIGHTING games as most of the popular ones like Smash, Tekken, Street Fighter and Mortal Combat use what is called a 2.5D plane. The 3D not only opens up so much potential for fighting techniques and mechanisms but also for much bigger stages and larger scaled battles.

Quite some time ago I actually made a concept about my vision for a Godzilla fighting game called "Godzilla: Gods of Destruction" in which I try to expand on some of these ideas along with reusing and reworking elements from the Atari trilogy and the PS4 game (still a solid game BTW). If anyone's interested, click here to go to my Reddit post for the whole concept

I think the Elder Scene was of Importance but the Reasons behind it are something that maybe Changes as with Quite a bit of the Story over Time/Drafts.  As those working on the Prequels seem to Change their Minds a lot, and a lot of it is Ambiguous.

At the TIME that the Scene was SHOT then it had Highlighted that the Sacrificial Scene was a Highly Ritualistic Event.  We have YET to even see the FULL Scene as Daniel Twiss (who played the Sacrificial Engineer) had said he had to Learn a Few Lines of ALIEN Dialect.  On the Bonus Material we did get to see some Dialect from the ONE ELDER, and then some of the Shooting Script with a Translation.

"Let your body become the dirt. Your blood become the waters, and may your soul become their way back to us."

We should not really look into that too Literally though, as the Planet already had Dirt and Water, but what we know is the Engineer is Donating his Body to Create Life, and RS had said the Engineers Choose to do this and said it was like how some Ancient Cultures would Choose Sacrifices.  We had RS said the Engineers can Create Life in other ways but they Seed the Worlds in this way, it would appear they see this EVENT as Very Important and maybe a HONOR?

The Full Scene with Sub-Titles would have Revealed maybe too much, it seemed RS wanted to NOT reveal too much about WHY the Engineers do what they do in the First Movie.

But i would say YES there would seem to be RITUALS and WAYS of the Engineers that they ABIDE too, it would seem the Creation Tool (The Original Goo/Pathogen) was something they USE to Create/Evolve Life and there must have been RULES to Govern HOW and WHEN this is to be USED.

It is SAFE to assume the Engineers had USED this Pathogen/Goo to Create Life for Millions of Years....  it would seem its SOLE PURPOSE was NOT what we saw in Prometheus on LV-223.  So IF those Engineers are Consider the FALLEN this means maybe they had been USING the Creation Tool in a WAY that it was NOT meant to be USED.

Ridley Scott had said that LV-223 was for the Creation of Bio-Weapons to USE on Mankind (maybe others too) but he also said the ENGINEERS would go to Worlds they deem a Failure and WIPE the Slate Clean.... well if this is the CASE i would say DROPPING DOWN like Hundreds of Urns of the SACRIFICIAL GOO would be the IDEAL way to FACTORY RESET a World... looking HOW this had Affected the Sacrificial Engineer.

With LV-223 we do know that INDEED there are Consequences to using the Creation Tool, while Prometheus is Ambiguous i think that SPAIGHTS DRAFTS do give us more Clarity.  With the Scarabs we could see more Clearly that it appeared at some POINT some of the Engineers had been Playing with Fire (Creation Scarabs) by using them to OBTAIN and Exploit the DNA of some other Organism that is the Biological Genesis of the Xenomorph if you would.

So i think that to LOOK at WHY would have been Important as it seems the Engineers Priority was Creation but also Survival and Especially if we look at Spaights Pitch.  Back then the Engineers had been a Humanoid Race who over Millions of Years had made Advancements to Prolong their Lives, they abandoned Sexual Reproduction and eventually LOST the Ability to Procreate.

This would GIVE a Good Reason for the Sacrificial Scene if it was a ATTEMPT to Create/Evolve a Humanoid Species so that they can Procreate again?  However Spaights had indicate that they Created us so that we can INHERIT what they had Created when the TIME had come for the Engineers to TRANSCEND from the Physical World into Multidimensional Beings.

This seems to Indicate the Engineers had managed to EXTEND their Lives but they had NOT really become IMMORTAL and so they was LOOKING at WAYS so they can LIVE-ON and their SOULS to be Free of the Restraints of a Biological Body.

By the TIME we get to his last Few Drafts we have NO indication of this.... it seemed to touch more on the Development of Various Xenomorphs to be USED to SMITE those they saw as a Threat or WHO they had Fallen Out of Favor with.

WHEN i look at the LAST Movie of the Franchise which is Alien Resurrection i find it Fascinating that the Xenomorph DNA had LED to RIPLEY 8 having the Memories of Ripley... this seemed to INDICATE the Xenomorph can PASS ON some kind of Genetic Memory Transfer.

To me this is KIND OF a KEY to some kind of Reincarnation and After-Life.  If this is the CASE then THIS makes PERFECT sense for WHY those Engineers had began to Experiment with the Ancestor of the Xenomorph.... if it was to UNLOCK as to WHY maybe this Organism has Genetic Memory Transfer/Reincarnation.

This is NOT to say WHAT has been going on, i just think it would make PERFECT SENSE.   But its likely that THEY had FAILED to Obtain this.... and all they could Create was HORRORS and so the Original Parasite that they Experimented on may have had a INTENTION but all they ENDED UP with was a Consequence.

"When Ridley Scott had said that IN-PART that Prometheus was about the SOUL and IMMORTALITY i dont think he had PLANS to show us that when we DIE we DO go to HEAVEN!

I think it was to SHOW that the Faith of Dr Shaw had been Proven to be WRONG about WHO our Creator is.... and so its LIKELY that her Faith is WRONG about the After-Life and Soul."

Logan Marshall Green made the point that he represented the scientific view and Elizabeth the faith based view and that neither were right the out come was a train wreck.

What that implies is that whilst we would have been shown that creation is galvanised through science (The Genesis Cup) there are rules of engagement. This was not going to be nihilistic. The footnote the creature the unintended consequence is.

The eight noble savages in "the arrival of the engineers" had the power of creation in their hands but there was a code and part of that was a promise of a return of the soul.

How soul is defined and where it resides will never be answered by the films, even as they came to edit Prometheus they moved it closer to 'the routine' rather than the philosophical but those ideas cast a shadow over the film.

The Pebble Ship is not an accident and the consequences of their seeding was to produce an Engineered outcome. It follows that they gave thought to what happens when the outcomes cease. Their appearance by the waterfall had purpose. There was a plan.

In my work Elizabeth is more wrong about where they go than the moon. In Prometheus Weyland is nearly responsible for the end of mankind. In my extension Elizabeth is potentially responsible for the end of creation.

Mystery solved! It’s not Age of Ultron. Actually, as it turnes out, it’s not Marvel at all. It’s from the very long and very boring Justice League…

SasquaDashDinosaurs ForumSteve Brusatte VS Angry Paleo Elitists

We could nitpick every tiny detail in dinosaur movies to the point where it drives us crazy. But buy doing so we prevent ourselves from enjoying them. I've seen so many people in the paleo community that constantly complain and rage over the tiniest detail and, honestly, it seems like those people have extremely miserable lives. I kind of feel bad for some of them, they claim to love dinosaurs yet they are constantly getting angry over the subject to the point where they are unable to enjoy something they love.
