If David had given Elizabeth the black goo drink. I think that might have worked better...More of a Ash angle. But he gave it to a nondescript character ( Charlie ) .... and the audience ( including myself ) responded with a big *meh*.....Hope he turns into a monster was the thought! Could of saved some screen time by just impregnating Shaw and get on with it.
David observing her C-section ( remotely ) would have been cool.
David's ambiguity is unsettling ...Do we like him? Or... Is he antagonist or protagonist?
Bishop and Ash are how it's done.
To be honest the titan war isnt as interesting to me. Would have been better if it had been built up too in KSI, KOTM and had been alluded to more than one comment in GvK
You just voiced all my thoughts about the subject thank you.
Peter Weyland is all powerful and I see little reason to take Charlie or Elizabeth along......There must have been a reason. Why would he share the glory with anyone? David and Jackson were all he really needed. If you told me where to locate the gold of the Incas, I'm hiring Indiana Jones and heading out without you.
I'd make Elizabeth, Weylands daughter. Gives a very good reason why she and Charlie are aboard. Vickers could remain as CEO ( unrelated to Weyland )
Peter has given Elizabeth everything wealth, education, power ......and in return she has left him without a grandchild.
...But she has finally made good. Delivering to her father....LV-223.
*They NEVER EVER would Expect that their OWN would EVER do such a Thing!
.....
Yeah, Planet 4 is probably not a military target and doesn't offer much for pirates. Just a higher learning center. I live near a military base and don't expect any of the aircraft to dive bomb the runway.
I could see asteroid/comet protection for when they hibernate.
I also feel that fans often assume that general audiences will connect with the monsters on a deeper level just because they’ve connected with the apes from Planet of the Apes, a movie with almost no human characters. Therefore, they assume that they’d run to the theater and see a Kaiju movie that only focuses on the monsters and has no humans in it.
But what made the Planet of the Apes trilogy work is that the non-human characters that the audience was following could communicate their emotions verbally, were humanoid in appearance, and were very close to the size of humans to make them more intimate and relatable. Now compare those characters to Godzilla and Kong, who are much larger and take up a lot more space, making them less dynamic in a setting and limiting what they can bring to the screen.
Because of this, it would make it really hard for general audiences to relate to giant monsters that are over 200 feet tall. This means that if Legendary were to make a humanless MonsterVerse movie, the majority of moviegoers wouldn’t see it.
A humanless MonsterVerse film wouldn’t be cheap to make. A film that heavily relies on CGI would cost over $400 million to create, and from a business standpoint, it wouldn’t really make sense for Legendary to invest that amount of money into a film that, to be honest, wouldn’t be a guaranteed critical and financial hit.
Considering how every MonsterVerse film has made less than $570 million USD so far, how likely is it that a MonsterVerse film with minimal or no human involvement in the story would make as much or more money than that? I’d say it would be a film that would either make or break the MonsterVerse, even if Kong were the main character.
Peter Jackson’s King Kong only made $562.3 million USD, which is slightly less than Kong: Skull Island, which made $566.7 million USD, and look at what that movie had going for it: it was a remake of an iconic monster movie from 1933, featured stellar motion capture technology that gave the titular monster a tone of personality, was made by an acclaimed director who just got off of finishing his successful Lord of the Rings trilogy, featured a lot of great actors such as Jack Black, Naomi Watts, Collin Hanks, Kyle Chandler, Adrien Brody, and Andy Serkis, and you can argue it had a lot more going for it in terms of its story than Kong: Skull Island.
Even though it did really good, it didn’t do amazingly at the box office. It made about the same amount of money as the MonsterVerse films. So what are the chances of a MonsterVerse film with no human characters in it making as much or more money than that? It’s not a guarantee.
And just because we as Kaiju fans see the Titans as characters and connect with them on a deeper level doesn’t mean general audiences would do the same. Since Kaiju fans really connect with the monsters, they’d be more naturally inclined to see a movie where they are at the forefront and the humans take a back seat. But Kaiju fans only make up a minority of moviegoers, while the general audience is the majority, and because they are in the minority, they wouldn’t bring in enough money to make the film a financial success. The general audience is the audience who Legendary needs to make their films successful. But because general audience members have always had a stigma towards Kaiju movies and just see them as mindless entertainment, they probably wouldn’t be interested in seeing a Kaiju movie that only has monsters fighting and converging the planet. Therefore, the film wouldn’t be a financial success. I doubt it would be a critical success either since critics didn’t like KOTM due to the human drama. So if they didn’t like a film that featured Toho’s most iconic monsters and some great monster action, what are the chances of those same critics praising a film with only that and no human characters? Once again, it’s very unlikely.
If Legendary is interested in telling a story that features the monsters as the main characters, they should either make it into a graphic novel series or a straight-to-Netflix anime with a reduced budget. I think it’d be cooler if they made a Titan War anime since animation is a great art medium to tell a story that has minimal dialogue and is on such a large scale. Animation would also allow the Titans to be more expressive than they would be in a real-world feature film. And hey, we’re getting a Skull Island anime, so why not make one about the Titan War if it ends up being successful?
TLDR: Even though a humanless MonsterVerse movie would certainly be ambitious, it just wouldn’t be a guaranteed critical and financial success. Therefore, it’d be smarter for Legendary to make humanless content on a smaller scale.
Charlie is caught up in all the main themes of the story and underpins more storytelling points than in the movie.
1) In order that we understand the jeopardy of the Juggernaut reaching earth be shows the reader what would happen. The description of what is happening and what we experience is much more intimate and darker. There is also a scene where David, who rushes back from the Juggernaut too late, studies Charlies remains in the morgue and explains to the reader what was happening to Charlie. The irony of course is that he works out that Charlie was in the process of reconstruction, an upgrade something he has eight of so it is much like your graphic.
2) His decision to reject that pathway and remain who he is through sacrifice then bleeds back into the other main theme and one that film watchers have known from the beginning that willing sacrifice is at the very core of creation. His penitential gesture as he dies plays right into the end of the story the moment when Elizabeth finally receives her final revelation.
Elizabeth
As a barren woman who is enunciated by the Mutagen but has a corrupted birth with Charlie's child, she is beginning her journey as Lilith. Like Lilith, she is the embodiment of femininity, strength and rebellion and when she arrives at Eden (though it is never called that, though that is its function) she believes she encounters Lilith and in one sense she does and believes herself to be Eve and because of what has happened to her she does have the power to restart creation. How the Mutagen affects her journey is for the reader but the essential point is she is lost and she has no idea what is the right course because her Abrahamic God does not exist, so where does she turn what is she supposed to do.
How will she find her waterfall moment and if she arrives there what should she do, because, in the end, God is Beyond Our Understanding?
also just realized that the ゴジラ+ app also posted about this. Now they're including godzilla and kong from monsterverse in the game
Neither you or G. H. (Gman) are right and both make assumptions about the other that clearly isnt true.
If you have problems with each other you can talk to each other in private messages.
Dont ruin it for the rest of us. And please neither of you respond.
I'm sorry but this is unnecessary on both parts.
thanks for the wonderful input you have put into this website, and do further hope to see more
I have not Read you Work yet (i MUST though) but i am drawn to you going for what RS had said when he had said that Holloway was going to End Up like Fifield who in Turn would End Up like the Sacrificial Engineer.

Its a Case of in your Story is the Stage after Breakdown the same as the Sacrificial Engineer in the Waterfall? Or Reconstructs like in the Concept above?
Dr Shaw maybe believes as she is DYING either she knows this Process will lead to her Breaking Down etc, or she thinks she is DYING so if i USE the Gift/Tool i could maybe CREATE a New Eden of LIFE from my Death?
But in Reality she is NOT Permitted to USE the Gift and what becomes of her Sacrifice is a ABOMINATION?

In Reality though the Pilot Chair Props are about the Same Size, and so our Prometheus Space Jockey is SMALLER than the our Space Jockey from ALIEN.
But this still means the 1979 Space Jockey would FIT in the same Chair.
Ridley Scott said about how Humans come in all Different Races... then WHY cant the Engineers? Well i also say that IF we as Humans come in Different Sizes then WHY cant the Engineers?
So our 7ft-8ft Basket Ball Players in the Engineers Society could mean we can have 9-10ft Engineers, and so if they SHOW us a 9-10ft Engineer who has a SUIT that FITS them and maybe we Accept something Happened to Cause this 10ft Suited Space Jockey to SWELL UP then indeed THAT would make the Scale to the Space Jockey more Accepting.
And so i would like to think the Space Jockey is a 10ft Entity/Being who maybe has Grown out of the Chair a Little (for some Reason) or they could give us a 12ft Being instead. And if so then this BEING would be Best Shown to be ABOVE the Engineers in the Creation Layer Cake or another Sub-Creation of the Engineers.
I do Suspect that Ridley Scott would maybe thrown a Curve-ball it is David or a Sub-Creation of his though... but we MAY NEVER get to know or see that anymore.

Yes the Intention was for a 27ft Tall Space Jockey but this FAILS for the same Reasons that our Engineers in Prometheus are Plain to see they are NOT 10ft.
Ridley Scott like to use Actual Props/Sets and he does things to Create a Illusion of Scale that are UNDONE in other Shots... Example is

Using Camera Angles and having Ian Whyte (Engineer) Standing on a Platform thats at HIGHER LEVEL than Fassbender and Pearce are gives the Illusion that the Engineer is much more Taller. (seem like just under 9ft, when in Reality he was just over 7ft).
The Intended Height and Acceptance of the Space Jockey before the Prequels was 15ft (i actually think it was 13ft) and so when we STARTED on the Prequels our Engineers were INTENDED to be 12-15ft but Ridley Scott would NOT go and USE any kind of Effects to Create that Reality.
"it wouldn't make sense timeline wise and there were xenos found on other planets"
Well if we go by Video Games, and Comics then YEAH!
In Context to the Movies though, then it is Plausible and Intended to show us that before those Egg that David had Created on Planet 4 then there is NO other Xenomorphs in the Galaxy. This comes from the PROBLEM of making it that David had Created the Xenomorph.
Is the Derelict the ONLY place there are Eggs (apart from Planet 4 and in Future maybe Origae-6?) well i would say if we ONLY go by the Movies then it makes SENSE that LV-426 was the ONLY place were they are Left.... (Games and Comics and Novels can Contradict the Franchise).
Regarding to a Synthetic being the FINAL PIECE of the JIGSAW that makes the Bio-Mechanical Xenomorph, the PROBLEM we have then is HOW do you get to Thousands of Eggs?
They could maybe have it WHERE we see David (Space Jockey) would Chest Burst the FIRST of the Bio-Mechanical Xenomorphs who then gets down to the Cargo Hold (maybe the Acid Hole Origins) and then LAYS all of those Eggs.
But then you would have to ASK as to WHY and WHERE was David or the Space Jockey going with a SHIP that has NOTHING in the Cargo Hold!
The KICKER is to WHY is the Ship on LV-426? If the Engineers would leave Planet 4 to go to Earth then what are the Chances it Passes LV-426? If the Ship would First go to Origae-6 then thats even LESS likely to WHY it would NEED to be Near LV-426.
So the Logical Answer has to be that....
*The Ship was heading to LV-223 with the Eggs, before the Pilot was Infected and ONLY got as FAR as LV-426.
Which would mean the Xenomorph of Davids is Evolved to Bio-Mechanical prior.
*The Ship is leaving LV-223 with those Bio-Mechanical Eggs but ONLY gets as FAR as LV-426.
This seems the MOST Logical Explanation which would imply the Xenomorph becomes Evolved/Bio-Mechanical on LV-223 and is also MASS PRODUCED.
I don't constantly pick fights with you, however I called you out a couple of times for your condescending attitude towards others, because that type of behavior shouldn't be considered okay.
You accuse me of twisting and misconstruing your words, yet your doing that to my statements, constantly accusing me of trying to derail/ruin topics whenever I give an opinion that opposes yours and then you take my comments and twist them, claiming that I'm "targeting" you. I've seen others on the site call you out on your behavior in the past, so does that mean that they're somehow "conveniently targeting" you as well? the reason that I don't engage in arguments with others on the site is because they, for the most part, treat the opinions of others respectfully, and they don't have a superiority complex. This has nothing to do with "convenient targeting". You're acting as if I'm somehow out to get you because you dislike the MonsterVerse. I'm going to be clear, I truly don't give a s*** if you hate the MonsterVerse! My problem is that you constantly treat people like crap for disagreeing with you and you constantly look down at the people who do like the series. You deny that your "gatekeeping", yet you're using your place in the fandom and your seniority on this site as a way of acting "superior" to others. Which is the definition of gatekeeping!

You take any quote and try to deflect it to fit your own narrative, like this one:
"And since you consistently do this, especially after being invited to engage in private discussion to no avail, I find your claim that you wish to avoid picking fights suspect at best."
You're twisting my statements and trying to use them as a way to make me look bad, trying to make it seem that I'm some sort of hypocritical troll that's only here to pick fights with you. Which is pretty damn manipulative. You even try to take my refusal to engage you further in other arguments as me not having an argument. The real reason that I've stopped replying to other arguments and haven't tried to have a discussion in your PMs is because I know that it's pointless and that would only be wasting my time.
You come off as controlling, demanding that I (and some others on the site) act a certain way and to ignore certain condescending comments that you've made, trying to get us to think a certain way. I get that you have seniority on this site, but that doesn't give you the right to boss us around.
It's honestly attitudes like yours that give fandoms a bad name. The Godzilla fandom has constantly gotten s*** from the public in the past, and attitudes like yours and certain other members in the fandom are only doing more damage to the fandom. If you really want to turn this site into a dumpster fire of "toxic fandom", so be it, I for one am not going to be complicit in this.
Yeah i think in Context to the PLOT then it would seem that the Engineers are just a Sub-Creation of something or someone ELSE we have NOT yet Seen?
Or Regardless this could be WHERE the Engineers had Originated from... this does-not mean that they have NOT gone and SET-UP other Colonies on other Worlds.
Regarding as to HOW Easy it was for David to do the Damage.. well its a Plot Convenience. And the Writers seem to NOT give much Thought to Explain anything to make Sense.
The Covenant Crew had been Surprised that the Planet was NEVER picked up on any Surveys, this could IMPLY the Planet is HIDDEN by something, and so we are talking a Cloaking Tech more like STEALTH than say Klingon Birds of Prey ;)
There could be Technology on the Planet that is able to do this.... (Implied in the Earlier Drafts)
The Docking Scorpion Ship is Described as Border Control and so its likely that David was able to do something to gain Entry to Planet 4 (they seem to have NO kind of Intercept Technology but i can Explain this after). We see that the Juggernaught seemed to Head to the Hanger where it was MET with the Docking Ship which then seemed to be Attempting to Dock with the Juggernaught. You would think that the Docking Ship should be able to TAKE FULL CONTROL over the Juggernaught or Disable its Ability to Drop its Cargo.
The Engineers were SHOCKED to see the Ship had BEGAN to Bombard them... this Implies the Following.
*They NEVER EVER would Expect that their OWN would EVER do such a Thing!
*The Juggernauts either are NOT Permitted and NEVER go to Planet 4 with any Cargo or..... the JUGGERNAUT has a Different ROLE than as a Bomber.
*The Docking Ship should be able to Deactivate the Ships, but somehow our David found away around this.
*The Engineers are so NAIVE that they Control and keep Eye on their Creations and it NEVER EVER would occur to them that WITHOUT the Help/Knowledge Passed by the Engineers then all their Creations remain at a Technological Level that Earth was Thousands of Years ago... and THUS what a HUBRIS that was for them!
I think the Last Point is a Valid one and maybe WHY they dont have Many Protective Measures because they ASSUME that ONLY their own Kind has the Technology to Traverse the Stars and their STEALTH TECH that Hides their World from being DETECTED is GOOD ENOUGH to Protect them.
Another Interesting thing is the Bombardment seemed to be HITTING some kind of Invisible Shield... but this FAILED..... a Explanation for this could be that David had learned the Engineers Tech/Software and was able to make a Virus/Hack that then would DEACTIVATE the Protective Systems.
This becomes a Problem if we look at the Deleted Scene and see the Hanger has Juggernaughts and we have to ASK.... WHY has David NOT gone to take them?
The Answer has to be they have been Deactivated... and the Logical Solution would be that the Destruction/Damage to the Scorpion Docking Ship had Rendered it USELESS and this SHIP is what is NEEDED in order to Activate the Juggernauts on that Planet...
Of-course when we watch ONLY the Theatrical Cut, we cant Conclude there are other SHIPS on this World so we could ASSUME that David has NO options to Leave.
UPDATE 08/11/2021:
According to Cinema Today and Kogyotsushin, Godzilla vs. Kong has fallen out of the top 10 in its 6th week. Now that it has fallen out of the top 10 it will be more difficult to track. Early estimates via Piixin put the film at 1.81 Billion Yen ($16.3 Million). Actuals are still being translated.
SasquaDash,
As for the Singular Point thread you are misconstruing for evidence, you seem disappointed I didn't pick a fight with you. I never, "brushed off" your opinion. You simply stated it and didn't care. (Much like you should likely try.)
Not once, however, did ever use the words, "didn't get it" nor did I use the argument for cultrual bias. It was you that tried to claim I was using the series to "discredit the Monsterverse" and when I explained that wasn't the case, you made no rebuttal.
For those who like to see the thread themselves and the assumptions that have been twisted by SasquaDash, here's the thread, in which he derailed to pick a needless fight:
Singular Point Spoiler Discussion
"but I do find it frustrating that Gman constantly has this condescending attitude towards any one who has a different opinion than his and the fact that he takes any to bash the MonsterVerse and anyone who likes it or is involved with it as a way of boosting his own ego."
Then ignore it. You have an exhaustive history of convenient targeting whenever I utter my opinion, harsh or not. Note I care less whenever you cite your displeasure for the Anime trilogy or Singular Point, or whatever else we disagree with. Yet you make a thread derailing show out of targeting and incapably handling other people's opinions/criticisms. And since you consistently do this, especially after being invited to engage in private discussion to no avail, I find your claim that you wish to avoid picking fights suspect at best. I have not once picked a fight with you and all criticisms have been directed at the material and their creators. Everything else you seem to take either out of context or far too personally for some reason.
I'm sorry you have a difficult time handling this and have projected goal post moving definitions of words to fixate your frustrations for me, but I recommend letting it go. I find your targeting exhausting as is, I can't imagine doing it is much less tiring.
Yeah. Planet 4 is extremely underwhelming if it is their homeworld. Easily wiped out by a single juggernaut!?...No this was attempt to end the Engineers story line.
If they originated on planet 4, then I'm okay with the understated design.
> he Best Solution would be a Engineer and maybe we could have STILL ended up with this, its a Question of HOW TALL would he be? But they could go by Kanes Comment "it looks like its Grown out of the Chair" to have it that something had made the Space Jockey/Engineer go and Expand after Death.
According to the official wiki, they are rougly 25 feet (8 meters) tall, and around 2 meters wide. I could very well see them being a failed sub-creation of the engineers that might have been used by david to try and create a "drone" to infect other worlds.
I personally dislike the idea that a species was directly involved with creating the engineers as it would contradict the previous 2 movies
Also to add, the space jockey cannot be david as it wouldn't make sense timeline wise and there were xenos found on other planets, which means that david had to infect other planets with the xenos first, and the fact that the ship has xeno eggs makes that unlikely. And the obvious height difference, i mean
This image speaks for itself. However it could be an ai sent by david
I think the combination of both is going to happen, he uploads his AI into some server or the WY systems and then uses a facehugger to impregnate his former body. And thus we will get the classical xeno that we know. Or he uses parts of his andriod body to upgrade the xenos and task them with their goals, which is much more likely. Either way, i don't think he will truly "die"
I think the creatures on planet 4/paradise are a sub-creation of the engineers, similar to humans and (possibly) the space jockeys. The real home(s) of the engineers probably have millions if not billions of cities, and most likely high defense. I mean, david was allowed there with his ship 100% undisturbed. And they "engineers" looked like they were waiting for someone to come back. I think that david and shaw were trying to find the home planet of the engineers but found planet4/paradise instead. I talked about this in other threads if you want to go into more details on the "sub creation"
Indeed, we all enjoy Godzilla for various reasons. Disagreeing with someone's opinion is one thing but treating people like garbage for thinking differently is something that shouldn't be considered "normal fandom behavior". Gman has twisted my criticism of his attitude, claiming that I'm "targeting" him simply because he doesn't like the MonsterVerse, which isn't the case. I personally don't care whether or not he likes the series, that's his own opinion. What I have a problem with is the fact that he looks down on anyone who likes the MonsterVerse and will find any excuse to treat the series, filmmakers, and fans like crap. I remember back in 2019 when some fans were upset by the critical response of King of the Monsters, he posted tweets mocking them for being upset, even making derogatory comments about them. He seems to think that his opinions are superior to others. I find it ironic that he wants people to respect his opinions, but doesn't seem to respect the ones of others. Recently, when Singular Point was released I posted my thoughts on it in the spoilers forum, personally I wasn't really a fan of the show and mentioned why I didn't care for it in my post. Gman pretty much brushed off my opinion like it didn't matter and almost seemed annoyed by the fact that I wasn't praising the show like he was, responding with statements like how people "didn't get it" even accusing people who didn't like the show of having "Cultural Bias", and once again threw the MonsterVerse and its fans under the bus as a way of elevating his own opinions above others. And the times when I got annoyed by his attitude he would counter by saying that I was "misinterpreting" his words and even made a comment stating that I should "learn to read better", which is extremely insulting.
Elitist attitudes like that are some of the biggest problems with fandoms. To give another example outside of the Godzilla fandom, I've had a lifelong obsession with dinosaurs and prehistoric life, but despite that, I absolutely can't stand the paleontological fandom because they have an extremely arrogant and juvenile attitude towards everyone, acting as if they're "always right" and that others are beneath them. I really don't want this site or the fandom to devolve into something like that. We can have different opinions and discuss them maturely without acting like jerks. The last thing I want is to be constantly fighting.
In my revision, there is no trilobite but the embryo born of Elizabeth and Charlie's DNA the latter of which had been invaded by the Mutagen. What we do not know yet is the broader effect of the Mutagen on Elizabeth. Ridley indicated to Noomi in Sydney Elizabeth was dying of the mutagen acknowledging there were downstream consequences. If she 'lives' what might be the consequences?
"She continued to kick the silt with her boots. All the certainties of her life had been shattered. Her faith lay in ruins. The only certainty: her parents had died empty, meaningless, deaths. She lowered her head and looked across the river and its two tributaries. It was time for her, too, to make a choice, to choose a course.
Her thoughts were ambitious, expansive; some would have said full of pretentious self-righteousness. To her, this was a sad desolate place where the Ritual of Creation had been abandoned. Yet she knew she had it within her to renew and restart the great work. That was why she had been brought to this place, why she had been returned from death; to remake Paradise."
If you chose to hold to the notion that going forward Michael and Noomi were co-leads then you can fulfil Noomi's wish to see what would happen if Elizabeth fell. It not only fits the narrative but it places her right at the epicentre of what the story is about what do you do if you have the power of creation within your hands. What can go wrong why does it go wrong and why were two barren lost characters brought to this place to find out the truth of what had happened. It might be in the lap of the Gods?
Despite what others say, you’re correct in your assessment SasquaDash and it’s refreshing. The fandom should be a place of respect, and as you noted GMans elitist attitude and others like him can succeed in making the fandom a toxic place to participate in, and that’s been the case on this site for years.
If I had to guess, his response about Borestein stems from a personal dissatisfaction with their own failed filmmaking career, and their wishes to make what they think would be better, with no one else’s opinions mattering due to them being a “superior fan”. It’s unfortunate because he does write good Godzilla content, but the ego sours it.
Being rude and arrogant can be an enjoyable quality if the person doing it isn’t completely serious and can admit when they’re wrong. Just another high ranking member of a fandom with no power outside of the internet. Keep your head cool and don’t let others stomp on your enjoyment of Godzilla :)
I think what we see with Planet 4 is the Home to the Engineers, However this is maybe NOT the ONLY such Home, it is LIKELY the Engineers have been to MANY WORLDS and while they may have Seeded Humanoid Life on Many Worlds i do think the Engineers would also Populate other Worlds.
Could David had taken Dr Shaw to another WORLD? Maybe it Certainly is a Coincidence that Paradise is SO CLOSE to Earth. But this was just for Plot Convenience to get more Humans to Arrive (The Covenant Ship).
The Reason that David had made this Journey is that Dr Shaw wanted to go to where the Engineer had Informed our David where he came from... which David had said we would call Paradise. I think Fans seem to be Caught Up to think that Paradise is Heaven and so its where the IMMORTAL GODS would be.
But in Context to the Engineers Plot, even from Inception we are NOT dealing with a IMMORTAL RACE, a Race who wanted to Extend their Lives then YES... a Race who may want to become IMMORTAL then YES.
Something we to Consider is the Engineers (both LV-223 and Planet 4) are LIKELY to NOT be the TOP LAYER of the Creation Cake.
Planet 4 is maybe where the Engineers (or just those Planet 4 kind if they wish to Explore it Further) had Originated from.
Biblically then Paradise is the Location of the Garden of Eden, which is the Cradle of Civilization, it is a Walled City were Adam/Eve where Created and Watched Over by the Cherubim Angels.
And so in that Context then Paradise is NOT where GOD comes from or Resides. And so if WE come from the Engineers, then in the Mythos of Creation then its likely Planet 4 is where say Adam/Eve came from who could be the FIRST of the Engineers (Planet 4 kind). And so those who Created the Engineers would come from somewhere ELSE.
Planet 4 has a LOT in Common with the Garden of Eden we seem to have a Planet where the Inhabitants are Confined to just a SINGLE Location... this CITY. Just as Adam/Eve were Confined to the Garden of Eden.
The other Aspect of Paradise in Mythos/Religion is a Place that our Gods would Dwell and were the Worthy/Honorable would be able to LIVE FOREVER. In some Mythos/Religion this means they will be Joined Time to Time by their Gods, in other its just a Place there WORTHY SOULS will END UP.
But in Context to the Franchise we can-not get Drawn to ANY Specific Religion or Mythos and to NOT take it too Literal, and so NOW that Dr Shaw is Dead, she is NOT going to AWAKEN in Paradise and be Greeted by Christ. And so instead we have to look at COMMON THEMES and take them as HOW they have been Interpreted by Ancient Cultures.
And so in that Context the Engineers likely SEED various Worlds, they go to Interact and Visit their Creations and those that are DEEMED to be WORTHY may see some of them TAKEN AWAY and to Planet 4 to then Mix their Genetics into the Gene-pool on Planet 4.
This would FIT with how RS had Indicated that while there are Many Different Races of Human (Skin Colors and other Slight Differences from Continent to Continent) he said WHY cant the same be for the Engineers. He also said the Engineers are NOT a Race but a Civilization.
The Engineer Culture is one of Basic Needs, and so they LIVE just like Monks do and the Amish, in those Cultures they SURVIVE... they dont NEED to have the Internet, Smart Phones, TV's, Consoles or other Forms of Entertainment... their Culture seems to see NO NEED for these things.
But it would seem they would USE some Technology for where its NEEDED in Regards to their CULT/RELIGION and way of LIFE. And so they LIKELY have some Technology (seems Evidence of this) that can Generate Power that they would USE to Light/Heat up their Homes etc. Maybe Provide Clean Water? (But they maybe also USE some Primitive Methods too).
They likely Generate Power and Technology to Protect their World? Maybe to Effect their Climate? The Earlier Idea was they had Technology that had Acted to Protect and Shield the Planet and Act like some Cloaking Technology where their World can remain HIDDEN unless you arrive within its Location.
The Engineers could have MANY such Worlds... when i look at the Hall of Heads then it kind of Reminds me that THIS PLACE is a Meeting Place of the Various Elders, like where you would HOST like a G7 or G8 Summit on Earth. And so Each of those Elders/Heads could have came from their OWN Place in the Galaxy and they Arrive to Planet 4 from Time to Time to have Meetings.
PS: so to go back to Adam and Eve, i guess what i am saying is IF they had NEVER SINNED then they would have Bore Children and Grand Children and SO ON and SO ON!
Who would have been Allowed to Remain in the Garden of Eden/Walled City, and likely a Civilization would have Formed in the Garden that is Watched Over by Gods Protector Angels (Cherubim) and where GOD could Visit from Time to Time.
And so Adam and Eves Kingdom could ONE day had become like the CITY on Planet 4 and i think its to look at those Engineers on Planet 4 being like Adam and Eve if they had NOT gone and Sinned...
Or as their Replacements to Live in Paradise who have NOT gone and Sinned against their Creator.
I am kind of skeptical about them doing a "monster only" movie with Godzilla. Heck, given Toho's recent trend of wanting Godzilla to be non-expressive (a trend that I really don't like), I'm not sure if Legendary would be able to do it. However, I do think that they could easily do it with Kong, considering that he is very human-like and expressive, and I think that a movie focused on visual storytelling could be extremely interesting. One of my favorite things about GvK (besides the fights) were the scenes focused on Kong himself, showing him exploring the Hollow Earth and finding traces of his kind (like the temple and the axe) and revealing hints of a much larger story and the history of the Titan War. The fact that those scenes were done completely through visuals and had no dialogue made those moments interesting and it really helped to expand on Kong's characterization. I think a movie where they do more of that could be really interesting and entertaining.
I'm not trying to take my frustrations with Gman out on any of you. The thing is that I really don't want to pick fights with anyone here, but I do find it frustrating that Gman constantly has this condescending attitude towards any one who has a different opinion than his and the fact that he takes any to bash the MonsterVerse and anyone who likes it or is involved with it as a way of boosting his own ego. The fact that he threw juvenile insults at Max Borenstein for merely suggesting an idea that he though could be interesting and then used it as another opportunity to bash the series as a whole WAS uncalled for. And the fact that he responded to my criticisms with his snarky, immature "Bill me" comment and him accusing me of "conveniently targeting" him was even more so. Having different opinions is one thing, but it shouldn't give you the right to be an arrogant jerk who constantly treats others like crap. He acts as if his opinion is superior to ours and that he has the "final say" when it comes to this franchise (which is why I brought up "gatekeeping") and it's really getting to the point where it's unpleasant to even attempt a conversation with him. I know it's pointless to even bring it up, but at the same time behavior like this shouldn't be ignored and normalized. If it is, these forums will only become a cesspool of hatred an constant fighting, and that's the last thing I want. I came here because I wanted to discuss Godzilla and Kong with other fans, I don't want to be constantly fighting.
Also, sorry for not noticing the messages that you've sent, I've been busy with some other things and I haven't been remembering to check them.
I really like it
To me it comes down to:
What were Elizabeth and David trying to find? The Engineers homeworld or just some living Engineers?
Did the ship automatically take them to planet 4...or did David plot the course?
Planet 4 could be an outpost or a family home....Immortal beings should have enormous families. Planet 4 could be a summer home for all we know...their sparse 'cabin in the woods'.
If my family were immortal...I'd have billions of years to accumulate storage sheds, space ships, bunch of stuff....my junk would probably cover the planet! lol!

Here is a Larger Version of the Banner.

Here is some of the Concept Work and so those Pillars with the Statues on are between 80-110M in Height and so some of those Buildings (Not Inc the Cathedral) are like 200-400M in Height.
"I find it ironic that the Reiwa series gets praised for being "experimental", yet somehow the MonsterVerse gets criticized for wanting to do something unique."
this is only about having a movie without humans. MOnsterverse has had some great original concepts like a parasite to Godzilla and the hollow earth, and most criticism has been on a writing level.
Reiwa has been criticised, most notably the godzilla anime trilogy, FOR TRYING NEW THINGS.
Having a movie with godzilla and new humans is just a direction a lot of people really dont want to see.
I dont want to assume this but dont tke out your frustration with G. H. (Gman) on the rest of us.
Also ive been trying to message you. Are you getting them, the You button at the top should be green if so.
They never said that they would ditch the humans entirely.
Just because they bring up the idea to make a film directly focused on the monsters doesn't mean that the entire series will go in that direction. They can still make MonsterVerse movies that focus more on the human story in the future. One potentially experimental film won't dictate the entire series. Plus they never said that it would be completely human-less, only that it would have minimal humans.
Honestly, I think the idea of having a story set through the perspective of the monsters could be interesting if given the chance. People complain about the humans constantly spouting exposition, so imagine a story that's directly told through visuals and that expands on the characterizations of the Titans themselves. Imagine a movie focused on Kong exploring the Hollow Earth, finding traces of his species, allowing the visuals to piece together a much larger story that flesh out, not only the history of Kong's species, but the history of the other Titans and Hollow Earth. Think of something like Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal, and how it was able to tell it's stories without dialogue and relied on the visuals and expressiveness of the characters. I think the MonsterVerse could do something similar. Sure it might be different and a bit risky, but how can know if the idea can work or not if they don't try it.
I find it ironic that the Reiwa series gets praised for being "experimental", yet somehow the MonsterVerse gets criticized for wanting to do something unique. I've seen fans demanding that Legendary to something "more interesting" with the series, but now those same fans are bashing the mere thought of doing something different. It seems a bit hypocritical. If the Reiwa series gets a pass on doing whatever they want under the guise of being "experimental", then shouldn't the MonsterVerse have the chance to do something experimental as well?
Or does the ability to do something different only apply to the Toho films?
I think whether you enjoyed the Monsterverse films to far or not, many of us can agree, movies like this do NEED human characters. As GMan made point of above, Godzilla and Kong both mirror Human specific / societal issues. Beyond the spectacle of giant CGI monsters beating each other up, it's their deeper, more profound connections to the Human subplots that make them so notorious and sets them apart from other Monster movies. It's like saying make a Jurassic Park movie without Humans... the Dinosaurs are a direct reflection of man's rape of the natural world and arrogance to assume we can play creator. If you subtract the Human characters and only leave the Monsters, you're left with a documentary like Walking with Dinosaurs.
They need to write better arcs for the human characters, not ditch them entirely.
My main problem is how lazy this seems to me. KOTM tried having an interesting human story, which got way too dependent on the kanji story and suffered in execution, and GvK didn't even try and used fast pacing to keep the story from bogging down. Giving up after two tries seems weird to me.
Well that is a stupid idea. Just admit you don’t know how to write compelling human characters. Monsters are cool and you can never go wrong with focusing on them more, but without humans to drive the plot and add intriguing story elements, you might as well be a nature documentary.
Duratok, and HinikunaGoji don't have a history of being condescending towards anyone who has a different opinion from them.
Calling someone out on rude behavior is not "convenient targeting". The fact that you insulted a guy's entire career because he suggested an idea for a movie you didn't agree with was really juvenile and uncalled for and your sarcastic "Bill me" response was even more so. I find it ironic that you praise things like Singular Point for being "experimental" and "doing new things with the franchise", but when the American movies try to bring up an experimental idea you immediately bash it and use it as an excuse to insult the filmmakers. At this point, I personally don't care if you hate the MonsterVerse (that's your own opinion). My problem is that you take any opportunity to insult others who think differently than you and you use it as a way of trying to act superior. I'm not actively trying to start conflicts, but at the same time, I'm not going to sit around and pretend that "everything's fine" and that treating others poorly is okay. Having a different opinion doesn't give you the right to treat others like crap. You've claimed in the past that this is just "how online communities act", but it shouldn't be. We should be able to discuss our thoughts on something maturely, rather than acting like immature jerks who treat others like garbage for having different thoughts. This type of behavior shouldn't be normalized. Most fandoms get a bad reputation from people within them acting this way, and the last thing I want is for the Godzilla and Kaiju fandom (and it's public image) to be damaged by arrogant behavior from certain fans. If you really want to turn these forums into a toxic dumpster fire, fine, but all it's doing is harming the fandom's image.
Also, here's a definition of gatekeeping:
