Wow, I don't even know that new film is coming!

I think regarding Special Order 937 then the Big Sub-Plot of the Franchise was that the Company wanted to GET and FAIL to Obtain a Specimen. But the Closest they (USM) came was in Alien Resurrection but then THAT went to POT!

It was always Interesting to Ponder to WHAT the Company had Planned should they had been Successful and were able to Contain the Xenomorph!  And it does seem that this was to be Explored with Blomkamps Alien V and the Red Harvest Project.  There was some Interesting ways to MOVE FORWARDS... but i dont think you Needed to BRING BACK say Ripley etc and therefore you MESS with the Canon of other Movies.

Hill and Giler (R.I.P) gave us the Special Order 937 Plot.... and the Secret Android, and so the Company being Interested for their Bio-Weapons Division.  Why the Earlier Idea by them was that the Xenomorph was a Created Bio-Weapon by the Company and that the Nostromo was sent out to become a TEST SUBJECTS for their Weapon.  And while that had Never became Canon (Company Creates the Xenomomorph) the Aspect of that PLOT is something that still is VALID as in the Company sending Expendable Humans into Unknown Situation for them.. while the Company Fully knows what will FACE the Crew of said SHIP they send out.

This seems to be something that is a Basis for the New TV Series.

But back to the OT..... be it a TV Series or Movie i do Suspect that DISNEY will go and Reboot the Franchise to give us a Alternative Story and Re-Introduce to us the Xenomorph for a New Generation.

I think they will also put the Emphasis on the Xenomorph... hence i made that POSTER for the Topic  (THE ALIEN) as this became what the Franchise was about after ALIEN because we NEVER went back to the Space Jockey which was also ALIEN.  There are Sub-Plots and Characters that i think you will have... and maybe we WONT see Ripley at all..... but it will be about the Xenomorph.

Maybe a Reboot will NOT go and Hurt if we see it as a Alternative Reality and Story like say many of the Video Games are..... that could maybe be BETTER than to just RETCON some of the Franchise with something ELSE as then it Interferes with the Canon that was Established.

Certainly i think with a TV Series you can Flesh Out the Story Line more and NOT have to Suffer the FATE of Alien Covenant where they had too much to CRAM into the Run-Time so the Movie Pace seemed Rushed (after say the Oram/Egg Incident).  We have the Announced Alien TV Series which is supposed to begin Production and Shooting like Next Year, and i think the TV Series is Relevant to the TOPIC.

In that the Plot will Deal with a Future Threat (A.I) and a Ancient Threat (i assume the Xenomorph) and by being SET in a Time-Line that seems to be Considerably before the Prequels..... then this TV Series looks like it could RETCON the Origins of the Xenomorph and so Conflict and maybe Re-Write the Prequels from the HISTORY BOOKS.

I think maybe this could WORK if this Happens at some Later Point in the Time-Line say 2200-2250 but you would have to come up with WHERE do they Obtain the Xenomorph from?  The Discovery of a Crashed/Sunk Engineer Ship on Earth could work..... but this would CONTRADICT the Prequels (but i think that THIS is what the TV Series will do).  But to have a Discovery on Earth that say Happens before the events of ALIEN etc i think would be a EPIC MISTAKE.

I also think the Interesting thing about the Prequels regarding the Black Goo and LV-223 is that it SHOWS that you DONT have to go back to having Vanilla-Morphs

If you Discover a Engineer Ship at the Bottom of the Sea and you EXPLORE it then you will Cause a Breach and Water gets on  the Ship and then WHAT IF the Black Goo leaks and Infects some Sea Life?

These are some Unused Concepts from a Prometheus Sequel (TOP) and from Prometheus, but also below are some Concepts that seem more Aquatic (but these dont seem too Awe Inspiring).

With the Prequels it is likely that Special Order 937 came about after the Advent Message that was sent by David.   Before we had the Prequels then it seems to make more Sense that Special Order 937 shows us the Company know Roughly what they was looking for, and so had some Prior Knowledge.

The Weyland-Yutani Corporation would have more sense then make the crew expendable because of a small Bug! Ash was constantly informing MUTHUR, which in turn was informing the company of the xenomorph onboard the ship. It was a hostile alien lifeform there for the corporation wanted it.

Also the alien didn't slip past the people of Hadley's Hope; the xenomorph killed them all and claimed the colony. 

It goes back to why I hate AVP so much, with any trace of the xenomorph being on earth completely ruins Ripley's mission but also not only that a xenomorph presence on Earth would be disastrous to all living things on Earth 

SCP in general is considered creepypasta, but i suppose it can be considered sci-fi too

The foundation tried putting 682 inside SCP-536; a chamber where they can use dials to control the physical contents within. They increased the speed of light and nuclear force within the chamber (whatever that means pls help me I’m smol brain), which caused 682 to disintegrate until all that was left was a piece of matter  1% of its original size. However, the creature then reformed an killed the researchers. Later tests had showed that its body had become an unknown form of matter, held together by quantum effects impossible to unravel with our current understanding of science. Does this account for anything?

Special order 937 makes sense if they had prior knowledge. The order must have been given to the thousands of starships roaming the galaxy. 

Walter should have killed the crew of the Covenant....Did he disobey? Planet 4 had plenty of good stuff....Talk about order 937!! Jackpot!

I absolutely HATE the idea of XENOMORPHS being on EARTH. I mean back in the original ALIEN, the corporation didn't exactly know what xenomorphs were they just wanted an alien lifeform to study. Ash must have been reporting to his superiors and they gave the orders for the crew to be expendable.

It runs into the same problem as AVP movies, if they already had xenomorphs on Earth why the hell would they need the Nostromo crew and Ripley years later? I got the impression that Ripley was their only connection to the xenomorphs otherwise they wouldn't need her if they already knew or have access to xenomorphs decades prior. In Aliens the corporation didn't believe her and even Burke was skeptical until they he saw them with his own eyes. It wasn't until Alien 3 when they started getting desperate to acquire a xenomorph embryo leading to their successors to clone both Ripley and the Queen in Alien Resurrection

I have no problem with the xeno on Earth prior to ALIEN. Makes sense that Weyland corp is aware of the organism and would alert all the synths in the fleet. Dead soldiers tell no tales, so there probably won't any reports on CNN. Evil corp will tie up the loose ends. I think they have a bit of leeway to not break canon?

I don't know about big screen anymore. The story is just so convoluted. It begs for a tv series.  

But back to the Question about WHY those Horrors?

Maybe ONE thing we overlook could be FEAR!

If the Engineers have Creations who become Rebellious or do-not Behave or they have Races they wish to CONTROL then FEAR is a Method of Control.

If on Earth you wanted to Control a Population by Forcing them to your View or Religion and those who DO-NOT go and Follow will be KILLED... then it depends on HOW you Kill them that can Effect the likely-hood of HOW they would GET IN LINE.

A Slow Death a Horrific Death, a Death in Front of the Public a more Barbaric Ways would cause more FEAR.

So maybe those Horrors are Created as a way to Strike FEAR into those you wish to Control.... you show them on SMALL SCALE of WHAT can Happen... you then PUT the FEAR OF GOD into them.... Job Done..

But you NEED to TEST this Horror... this Weapon of Fear!

If we are talking a Advanced Race that have been what more Advanced than maybe we will be by the Year 3000 but these have been at least as Advanced as maybe we could get then, but for Hundreds of Millions of Years then we REALLY dont know the LIMITS of the Technology as FAR as the Ability to Destroy.

And as Genetic Gardeners you would think they have ways to have a KILL-SWITCH.  And the Juggernauts and Especially if they USE the Sacrificial Goo are Perfect for RESET SWITCH of a World.

But do they have Technology to Protect Ships/Worlds some kind of ATTACK as IF the Juggernaught had such Weapons it could have Destroyed the Prometheus and then gone to Earth.  IF we saw Planet 4 have these maybe they could have Destroy the Juggernaught... but it seemed by the TIME they Realized what was Happening it was TOO LATE.  You really want to be Destroying a Ship like that before it gets into the Atmosphere.

If they have such Weapons then maybe they have NUKES or similar that they can USE on Worlds, maybe they can EVEN go and Destroy Worlds (HR Giger Death Star anyone) but YEAH if they had such Weapons and Wanted to Destroy Mankind then WHY NOT go and USE them?

Makes No Sense to Create a Weapon to Drop like the Black Goo to Mutate them into Horrors unless this is WHAT they want to Turn us into.... as to SIMPLY go and KILL US then maybe there are Better Ways and to RESET the WORLD then the Sacrificial Goo via Bombardment is PERFECT.

I think as FAR as Exploring a Ancient Alien Race as a Race who ONLY have the Juggernauts to go around and DROP DRUMS of Pathogen on Folk... i think thats Very Limiting.

Could this have Happened to LV-426?  Could the Star Map had been showing us to LV-426 and it was a Different Place like Many Thousands of Years ago?  Who knows... they could Explore that... or NOT.

Something like this could be the Ultimate Plot Device to Explain the Pursuit of the Xenomorph in the Franchise, instead of going to LV-223...  If there is a KILL SWITCH on LV-223 or the Engineers have a Technology they can Unleash from Space that would DESTROY the Moon... or Render It so that it has NOTHING to be Gained from it.

I now think it was a mistake keeping the Engineers alive.  I think the real threat was Weyland industries obtaining the mutagen and bringing it back to Earth ( and the highest bidder ). Humans are very capable of 'weeding' themselves without the help of a juggernaut loaded with the stuff.

The timescale for this gardening is unfathomable, how long would this stuff take? Seems more like a hobby than a defense ( or offense ) strategy.

We then came to the News that there would be a TV Series based on ALIEN instead.  And unlike the Alien V Ideas this TV Series would NOT be about Ripley.

The Latest News seemed to Indicate we would see the Xenomorph again, but this TV Show would be SET on Earth and in the NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE... this Surely means some YEARS before the Prequels and ALIEN, and so could it be 25 Years prior to ALIEN or 50 or 75? Who knows.... it Certainly would not be like too Close to ALIEN so i would Assume a 50-70 Years before ALIEN and so THIS would Surely go and Conflict the Prequels...

Or is it intended to RETCON the Prequels?

If they were to encounter a plucky race – or a belligerent faction of their own – willing to put up a fight, then certainly they ought to have technology to deal with that threat. The juggernaut on LV-223 wasn’t any good at dealing with the Prometheus, for example. So there has to be something better for that purpose tucked in the garage.

I could easily imagine Engineer battle fleets using technology we haven’t seen yet, which would be fun to see.

Another possibility might be that if you’ve been gardening the Galaxy for a very long time, you kind of know what you’re doing, and opposition might be extremely rare. In a worst case scenario, you might have – let’s say – a green crystal on a stone plinth that, when pressed, can detonate a star dozens of light years away.

A contemporary parallel to this might be the Tory Party in the UK. They are very good at clinging on to power, and crush all opposition, despite being fundamentally self-serving and morally corrupt ;-)

Well Realizing you Error of Ways and Apologizing is a Big/Good Move, people can get Passionate about their Fandom they Follow and so Disagreements can Occur.

There are a LOT of similar Things/Themes in Various Mythos etc.... so its like in Context to the Franchise (and Ancient Astronaut Theory) that these are maybe DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS of the same EVENT.

And so with the Plot then these SIMILAR EVENTS could also had taken Place on other WORLDS.... and THIS is something we can Explore, where you can go more in DEPTH to SHOW us WHAT has Actually Happened and NOT how its been Interpreted and Passed On by Generation to Generation and Spawned Various Mythos.

For Example... we see Angels are Depicted with Wings but the Sumerian Mythos also has their Gods having Wings (in some Depictions) if your a Ancient Culture who have NO Technology, then seeing your Creators etc, Ascend from the Heavens by Various Means.... maybe they are Beamed/Float down.... but a Ancient Person maybe Cant Fathom that... and so the ONLY WAY these Gods/Creators could do this... is they MUST have WINGS... etc.

Burning Chariots, and Riding on Clouds of Fire..... that could be HOW some Ancient Humans would Describe a Space Ship etc.

They can have more Technology than Earth 2000 Years ago but still LIVE in a Ancient Way like Planet 4....   And we see the Interaction... they will Speak in a Ancient Language.... for a BIT with Subtitles then they Speak English for our Benefit.. (Viewer).

Then there is a RUMBLE.... in the Distance we see 3 Juggernaught Ships.... the Humanoids seem to be Excited and Rush Out.... the Engineers well a Few look Concerned its like "well NO ONE had Called me to say they coming to Visit"

The Ships then Land on a Docking Platform... and a Draw Bridge Opens on the Ships....

But we do-not see any Engineers.... we see a Synthetic a David maybe (looks like him) and then Human W-Y Military come out of the SHIP.  The W-Y Company has Gained some Engineer Tech... they have Located some Engineer Worlds (worlds they Seeded etc) and the Company is Interested in the Planet and its Resources....

We see our Engineers are NOT really Malevolent... only WHEN they have to be... we see HOW the Engineers will Nurture and Watch Over their Creations who are LOYAL and Behave....

We get to see HOW GREEDY and WICKED that Humans can be... and it will SHOW US to WHY the Engineers saw we NEEDED to be Destroyed...

The Humans from Earth will bring the Horror..... they may then INFORM the Humanoids on this WORLD the Engineers are NOT their GODS... etc... and that KILLING the Engineers will give these Humanoids Freedom and they can Join the Weyland-Yutani Company well Humanity as like in the Star Trek Federation... but in Reality they just want the Planet and its Resources.

But a Engineer Escapes... maybe Protected by the Sacrifice of some of their Humanoid Creations....

IF we see this Engineer Manages to get a Transmission to other Engineers about WHAT has just Happened...... then HOW are the Engineers going to React?

Humans with Engineer Technology and maybe they also Reverse Engineer some of it could be a THREAT to the Engineers.... this FIGHT will NOT be ONE the Engineers could WIN as Easy as 2000 Years ago!

This could be WAR... a WAR OF THE WORLDS...

So YEAH you could go for something like this.... and SET IT like WAY after ALIENS.. like even 2300 or so..... maybe the State of Earth in Alien Resurrection is a Result of the Engineers coming back?

They are Defeated... but MORE could come again.... maybe the Earth needs a Weapon to Deal with them?  And so maybe thats WHY they Start to Clone Ripley DNA to Obtain the Xenomorph to USE against the Engineers?

Do the Engineers do the SAME with other Worlds as on Earth? If so then there is a Chance that these Worlds have some similar Infrastructure and Architecture as Ancient Earth..... maybe in TIME some of these Worlds would be ALLOWED more Technology... if say their Inhabitants are BEHAVING and Pleasing the Engineers.

I am going to ASSUME the Engineers would NOT go allow Many Worlds to Evolve Technologically to Travel the Stars unless these Worlds are Governed by and have a Heavy Engineer Presence on them.....

You can then also go with the OTHER SIDE of the Coin and to Engineer Worlds and Outposts that maybe have MORE of that HR Giger Aesthetic to them.

The PLOT is Quite Limitless......

*We know the Engineers can Traverse to other Galaxies otherwise WHY would they have the STAR MAPS on their Ships?

And so they can Surely Travel our Galaxy with Greater Ease than Mankind in the Years 2100-2200 and also their Cryo-sleep Tech had kept the Engineer Alive for Thousands of Years.

Faster Ships.... and Cryo-sleep that can Sustain for Thousands of Years would mean that Traverse to Deep Space is NOT a Problem.

And IF the Engineers have had these KIND of Technology for Many Millions of Years then its UNLIKELY they are all Bunched Up within Years Space Travel for Weyland-Yutani between 2100-2125 etc.

This Usually means you NEED some Humans to Connect too..... which is ONE REASON that Planet 4 was likely on the Door Step to Earth (within a Year).

Put yourself in their SHOES............... Destroy that Creation and Restart and LOOSE like Thousands of Years of Effort or MORE?

YES.... if the Engineers had NO MORE NEED for us or our Genes etc...

YES... if the Engineers had Created other Life that is Very Similar to Humans.

Otherwise you would THINK they would SEND DOWN some Engineers to go and TAKE some Humans (or Infants or ways to Obtain Infants) and TAKE them to other Worlds (if they had NOT already done so)....  then DESTROY what Remains.. (Have to think a bit like NOAH and the Flood here).

so lets go back to 2000 Years ago... 1000, 500.......... can we just ASSUME that the ONLY Place where we have Humans is on Earth?

So YEAH... there was NO NEED to have Planet 4 being so CLOSE to Earth the MAIN REASON was they Needed to have more Humans come into the FRAY before the EVENTS of ALIEN and so Planet 4 needed to be Closer.

Just as there was NO NEED to have David go and Create the Xenomorph he could have Created something thats more SIMILAR but Different but in seeing HOW he had Created his BEAST we could then think..... AH! so maybe the Xenomorph was Created in a Similar Way by the Engineers some Thousands of Years ago (you leave it OPEN and a Mystery).

Just because its SET say 25'000., 50'000 Light Years Away or 5000, 50'000 Years ago does NOT mean we cant have any Technology or Humans, as well as other Races etc.  WHY it could be SET in another GALAXY and it could be SET in Thousands of Years Time etc...

I think we could NOT spend too LONG on the City or Architecture both External and Internal and a LOT has to do with the Running Time and Plot Points.... Alien Covenant seemed to be Pretty Rushed from the Moment that Rosenthal had been KILLED.

It would have been NICE to see more about their Architecture and Technological Level they USE..... they Certainly are FAR from being just Stone Huts ;)

I have heard the Excuse that the City was NOT as HR Giger because of BUDGET... Unless by Budget that they had PAY the HR Giger Estate a LOT of Money.  The Earlier Drafts seemed that the City was more Gothic meets HR Giger.

But with Planet 4 it seemed some of the Buildings had that Ancient Look about them with some Technology applied... It seems that during the Process of working on a STORY and HOW they wanted the World to Appear they went through Various Ideas on WHAT it should look like.... and Ultimately they Dropped the HR Giger Aesthetic.

However the PLOT is these Engineers are our Creators and they Visited us, and Taught us Stuff and that WITHOUT the Engineers we maybe would be Living in Caves and Mud Huts... and so as WE was MADE in their Image then maybe they Helped us to BUILD our Architecture in some Places in the Image of their OWN.

I think a lot of Fans are Bummed Out that our Engineers are NOT all Walking Around in Space Jockey Suits, in More Organic Looking Ships and Living in Buildings that look like something that HR Giger had Designed...  just as SOME of the Fanbase thought we see Engineers who just go AROUND to Spread the Xenomorph across the Galaxy!

The Ancient Astronaut Idea is WHAT is the Backbone of the Engineers Plot, and so its NO WONDER the City had some Aesthetic of Ancient Buildings on Earth as the Engineers had likely Taught us to Build or we have ATTEMPTED to Replicate what our Creators had Lived in.

Otherwise if the Engineers were all about the HR Giger Aesthetic and came to Visit us and Teach us Various Stuff then its maybe a Question of WHY does Ancient Mankind not have anything or ATTEMPT to Build anything that would LOOK like our Bio-Mechanical HR Giger Gods!

If we LOOK at say LV-223 and Ignore the Shots taken ON and OF the Juggernaught then the Outpost does-not have a LOT of HR Giger Aesthetic to them, YES some have used HR Giger Works for Inspiration but then they are Given a NONE... HR Giger kind of Lick of Paint if you would.

Regarding the Clothing it seems for the Main Part the Engineers live a Ritual/Cultist like LIFE where only whats Essential is Required... The Clothing of Ancient Mankind say 1000 Years or more ago... is Practical even as of TODAY. (if you LIVE in a Climate like the Middle East/Greece etc).

If we look at Star Trek the Vulcans and Bajorans all Wear only Practical Garments and they do-not match the Variation of Modern Fashion. But they are Adequate for the Same Function.

The Klingons, the Romulans and Cardassians however they Wear the Exact same Clothing (well i mean Klingons Mainly Dress all the same, and Romulans etc) but thats because we see them in a MORE of a MILITARY like ROLE.

And so the LV-223 Engineers seem to DRESS Differently as they could be Military (RS seemed to Suggest so).  And so for Every Day Life for a Engineer then there is NO NEED for the suits we  saw in Prometheus.

The Elders Scene and Sacrificial Engineer had Dressed in Pretty much the same WAY as those Planet 4 Engineers.  But i think MOST of the Fans prefer to see the Engineers as they are in Prometheus (well the LV-223 Guys) i think IF we get to EXPLORE the Engineers again, then WHY NOT see BOTH types?

You could get that Impression with the Derelict, and HR Giger even said he thought the Ships would be Grown!

The Juggernauts however seem WAY MORE like Mechanical/Synthetic, there seems to NOT be a lot of Organic Aesthetic to them.  But while the Derelict looks Truly Bio-Mechanical and we have YET to see HOW the Derelict got to LV-426 then YES it could be OPEN to Explore the Derelict as being Different and that the Engineers had Reverse Engineered, or Based their Designs from SOMETHING ELSE..... that is maybe Created/Grown by some OTHER Race?

It was of Wayne Haags Opinion (and it could be just that) that he FELT the Engineers Technology was STOLEN from someone else.  This could be Explored.

Exactly i think that was the Main Objective of the Engineers, and its likely they have been Gardening in a LOT of Places.

It depends on what you mean by a War Machine, it Certainly can be USED to bring about DEATH.  Just Dawns to me that if this went up against say the Galactic Empires Destroyers then it would NOT stand a Chance... i would even say W-Y Military Ships of the 23rd Century would Dispatch a Juggernaught.

And so this seems Counter Productive to the TOPIC..... in Part as FAR as Conflict and HOW they Deal with it. By that i mean.....

*It seems the Juggernauts have NO MEANS to Take Out other Ships, not from what we have seen.

*It seems Planet 4 had NO MEANS to Take Out the Juggernaught (unless it was Too Late by the Time they Realized what was going to Happen).

These MAKE Sense IF the Engineers know or FEEL there are NO THREATS as FAR as Worlds that have Advanced Technology because they KEEP EYE on their Creations and other Threats and Eradicate them before they can become Technologically Advanced to POSE any Threat or be able to DEFEND against a Juggernaught and its Cargo.

Then the Juggernauts are FIT for the Purpose to Destroy...... i think the Sacrificial Goo is GOOD ENOUGH as a means to Destroy as in Destroying it will Create and it SHOULD go and Create like the Sacrificial Scene so that MAKES more Sense as a CLEAN THE SLATE kind of Option.

I see the Juggernaught as a Seeding/Evolving Tool.... go and Capture some Tigers and Lions and Subject them to the Sacrificial Goo and Collect the Result (after the Felines have Broken Down) and Store this in the URNS and then RAIN this Down onto a City of Humanoids.... and well we can Assume they would MUTATE into Thundercats or Eventually something Similar will Evolve.

But we Never Saw something like this in Alien Covenant, those Engineers appeared to Suffer from a Poisoning (Pathogen) of Sorts and the Goo Started to Replicate inside and Swarm to other Engineers..... but  in the END what we had was like Statues, they became like Mummified!

The Result of the Black Goo and a WAY the Bio-Weapon was Activated or Programed?

Or maybe the Engineers had some Device that would RELEASE a Energy Blast or something that would KILL ALL LIFE within a Radius, by Turning the Molecules of Life into like Stone (well cause the Engineers to Dry Out).

I am NOT sure those  Working on the Movie had a Explanation or thought that ONE was Needed. (As Far as WHY the Engineers remained like Stone/Mummified).

So YES the Juggernaught can Bring Death, but also Life, i would NOT go and RULE out it as having Multiple Uses.....

But WHEN/IF the Engineers are Faced at Conflict with another Faction who are on Equal Technological Level or against other Races who are Technologically Advanced even as FAR as say Mankind in the Year 2100-2000, then YES the Engineers would NEED to have other Forms of Attack and Defense you would THINK?

If NOT then this Lack of Military Might would become their Undoing...but then to Attempt to Create Horrors on LV-223 seemed to become their Undoing in PART.

Looking at the SCOPE of the Plot that Expands Beyond our Galaxy then i think its UNLIKELY the Engineers have gone around for Millions and Millions of Years without any Conflict with each other...... or maybe we CANT go and Assume there are NO OTHER (Races) or that other Races are ALL at Technological Levels that are NO-WHERE as Advanced as even Earth at Present (2021).

Certainly i think each Movie will Resonate differently Fan to Fan i dont think that Replacing a Movie is the Answer.... dont like AR, lets Remake a Alien 3 Sequel that Ignores  say Alien  Resurrection, there is No Need as you can  make a Sequel to Alien 3 that does-not Conflict with AR.  Some never liked Alien 3 as it KILLED OFF our Ripley but for me her Sacrifice was a Fitting End.

Thats the Golden Question.....  Blomkamps Alien V and Brandywines both Revolve around Bringing our Heroine Ripley back and removing some Movies from Canon.  That just shows they either Ran out of Ideas or they FELT you cant have a Successful ALIEN Story without Ripley.

The Prequels had OPENED the Door to Expand the Franchise even as FAR as the Xenomorph and Related Horrors.  But its PLOT also meant you could introduce any Number of NEW things.
