The other islands appear on the map in The Lost World and they mention Las Cinco Meurtes by name.
I thought the other ones other than Sorna weren’t canon
THEY LIVE lol
But if you could give me more Information i may be able to HELP!
1) What Decade did the TV Show/Movie seem SET IN? 50's, 60's, 80's, 90's etc
2) What do the ALIENS look like, give a Example of something Similar you are Familiar with.
3) Do you know any of the Cast by Name?
Looking more into it......
It seems that the TV Series is AIMING to NOT go and Conflict the Franchise or Prequels. And to become CANON.
I just STRUGGLE to see HOW....
I think maybe like AVP if the Action took Place on a Isolated Location/Outpost that gets NUKED and then a Massive Cover-Up then MAYBE it would NOT go and Conflict the ALIEN Franchise much.
But i FAIL to see HOW it would NOT go and Conflict the Prequels.
The Promotional Work for the TV Series shows us a Face Hugger, and a Xenomorph Embryo that has Arms/Legs and Tail (like from Alien Covenant).
what we KNOW for Sure is...
*They will introduce the Xenomorph
*It will be SET on Earth for the Majority.
*They will be Tinkering with the Xenomorph but NOT too much.
*It will Focus on Inequality in Relation to Mainly the DIVIDE between the Rich and Poor and how the Rich always USE the Poorer to their own GAINS.
*It will be SET in the Near Future which to me Sounds like UP-TO or around 50 Years from NOW, than the Distant Future of ALIEN in 100 Years from NOW.
*There seems to be some Submerged/Flooded Chamber that has the Aesthetic of Prometheus Engineers (this is likely where the Xenomorph is Encountered).
*We will see it deal with a Human Consciousness thats STUCK inside another Body (but we cant be sure WHAT this BODY will be... as far as SEX, RACE, or if its a Synthetic).
It seems the Comments about a Future Threat and Ancient Threat are about the Franchise and Prequels..... but this does-not mean we WONT be seeing A/I or Synthetics.
I am going to Assume they Discover something and then we GET the Answer that the Pathogen comes from Xenomorphs and that Eventually the Pathogen will REVERT/MUTATE/EVOLVE all Life back to a Xenomorph.
For me i think the PLOT would be a MISTAKE...
I also think having the Xenomorphs on Earth could be a RISK.... are we having a MASS/EPIC like War of the Worlds/Independence Day?
Hundreds or Thousands of Xenomorphs roaming the Streets of a Busy City? This would be a MISTAKE and Especially IF we are in a Time-Line that is PRIOR to ALIEN.
I would like to HOPE for the Best but i Dread something like AVPR without Predators and the Pred-Alien.
Could be! There are lots of titles there I haven’t explored..
Okay now I can see why there is an 8th Island
Jurassic Park III is canonical set on a different part of Isla Sorna, (originally it was supposed to be set on Isla Nublar hence the tropical rainforest set dressing instead of the temperate rainforest of the previous movie)
The island for most of Camp Cretaceous is Isla Nublar
Also the Five Deaths are canon to the movies because they appear on the map in The Lost World and Sorna is briefly mentioned in Fallen Kingdom
So out six (hypothetically seven) islands that appear in-canon, they're going to make an 8th island? Why? Outside of Isla Sorna, we barely know about the other four islands that make up Las Cinco Muertes
Cool. Ebirah, Horror of the Deep is currently the only one on this list that I haven't fully seen.
Looks like the ones in Ice Age
the smilodon model looks a bit to cartooney for my taste.
but i cant wait for a mattel fig!
wait the island in camp cretaceos ISNT sorna?
that sure throws a wrench in things
Imma be that guy who says, “the five deaths aren’t canon to the movies”
but other than that, it’s an interesting idea
I think it was a smart move. He’s not super super important after all. And Wingard was right in trimming back on humans and putting in more monster action as the focus.
I am so unbelievably happy at this. Now I can be super close to finishing the Showa era.
This is what I’ve been waiting for!
Could be a sci-fi channel original movie
They were never planning to explain even ren serizawa at all.
Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody = Wasted
Millie Bobby Brown as Madison Russell = Wasted
Whatshisface as Ren Seriwaza = Wasted
John Goodman as IDK in Kong = Wasted
I can see why Ford be crying. There's a trend here...
So far most critic reviews have been pretty positive and the user reviews on Steam are mixed, though they lean more towards positive.
No clue. It was a pretty low budget show, from what I remember, but there did seem to be lots of extras involved. I'm almost certain it was a series, although I could be wrong. It had a similar plot/feel to Earth: Final Conflict.
He’s emotional around his family and screams when he sees his daddie
He spends time masking emotions around people he doesn’t trust like the monarch agents for instance.
can you remember the actors that played in this movie?
masking your emotions, makes the enemy believe you are an emotionless killing machine. Showing your emotions (including anger) in combat would make you look weak to the enemy and thus can be exploited.
That's what we usually get in movies and shows, and it's a lot more realistic since we've seen real-life soldiers get emotional.
Yeah as someone who is from a military family, Ford behaves very military. You wouldn't want an emotional soldier/marine would you?
Madison's character arc is stellar but completely undermined by the writers failing to properly write an arc for Emma, a character that Madison was so heavily connected to.
As for KOTM if I were to describe it, overdone is not one of the ways I would. I think it’s very well paced, and the action sequences are great. But attempted character arcs aren’t done well enough, it’s mostly issues with exposition and dialogue. The Opening scene with Madison and Emma talking before seeing Mothra is stellar, and to me motivations were real and done well. But how they continued forward in the movie isn’t great. The underwater scene could have gotten rid of the dialogue about why Godzilla is flashing his lights display, because the audience should already be intimidated and you don’t have to tell them again. There’s a lot of useless dialogue I feel could be cut, but over the movie is still very enjoyable to watch.
as an actor (not professional but working to it), I will say. Acting comes with understanding the character which I talked about with for Ford, again his character choices make sense given the character.
Both 1954 and Shin were tragic. And Shin was about politics between two countries by placing them in that situation it wasn’t about Godzilla.
I honestly don't get the hate people sling at Godzilla 2014, its my favorite monsterverse film
I'd say KOTM had better acting (for two characters) than Ford, but most of the writing makes it feel overdone and wacky.
Godzilla'54 and Shin were exceptions because they were more original. Godzilla did a good job showing what could happen with nukes and atomics and Shin had a tragic Godzilla who tried to become a human but got killed.
Those stand out. But everything else is a more or less creature feature through and through.
And WB never tried to paint KOTM as a masterpiece nor GvK. Just as movies.
which for the last time, G14’ is a good movie. I don’t get the acting criticism. Ford is a soldier who has been conditioned to mask emotions. It’s not poor acting it’s intentional. It’s not a perfect movie. But it’s one of the things that solidified my love for the franchise
And The Gamera Hesei Trilgoy was a masterpiece.
I need to talk about Dume, maybe I’ll make a topic
“when monster movies have never been that ever.”
You realize that Godzilla 1954 was nominated for best picture in Japan
and Shin Godzilla Won best picture.
