Predator Badlands that is, not AVP 04
New spot leads with "from the Studio that brought you Alien: Romulus"...
$105 million to make. you left out the advertainment cost and memorabilia which thats about another $80 million, so the film it self needs to make around 220 million " give or take " to be considered profitable. to make it successful, it needs to make about 300 million. if your a predator fan like myself your not really happy with this film. even the comics did it better. this film i wouldnt recommend to anyone. even someone i dislike. hopefully this new experiment dies with this film
You're absolutely right, mentioning how much it cost to make was purely film production budget – I've update the post to reflect the additional costs unaccounted for previously. The film needs to double or more its production budget to be considered a success, you are right.
As for the film itself, I would have judged it far more harshly had Dan not created a more on-brand Predator flick with Prey 3 years ago. Prey satisfied the familiar cravings I had for a Predator film, while Badlands does open the door to more exploration. I got Predator 2 vibes more than anything with Badlands, which is fine by me. As a lifelong Yautja nerd I feel Trachtenberg balanced the scale by making Prey first and now the more lighthearted Badlands. It treads a fine line, but did so in a respectful way, imo.
Updated OP with latest figures ‐ Badlands has officially beaten AvP's opening weekend box office haul.

I just got back from the theater. It was ok. Not the best, not the worst. One thing that threw me off a little was the heavier comedic element. The tone shifted a lot too, as they bounced around from action, to horror, to comedy, to an environmental theme, then overlay that with the bad corporation thing, the AI is dangerous thing, & the buddy team up part that looked & felt a little like Star Wars & Guardians of the Galaxy by the end...wow, just all over the map.
I anticipate an AvP coming sooner than later now after the hype around Badlands. I wonder if this is the reason for Romulus 2 production getting delayed, though...

Loved the prequel! A sequel would be fun!
It’s sooo good, I love how they both blended elements of the original Predator score into their various tracks. Sounded great and felt very on brand!

can I ask you a question please?
Dammit Nebula now I can't unsee it 🤣
Oh my gosh, I was just listening to the soundtrack on Spotify, it's so good!!! 'Meet Thia' and 'The Alpha' are my favorite tracks so far.
Am I the only one seeing dildos?

Really enjoyed this one!!
This one is my favorite, by far. I would pay good money to see this Yautja made for a movie!
Crafting the Predator TV spot:
I love Elle so much, she is wonderful in the tv series 'The Great'. Looking forward to seeing her in this.
Update: My early screening had no swag 😔 not keychains even, and it was an IMAX theater 😒

Norway? Troll crossover incoming
Quite a bit more footage shown in this TV spot. I particularly like how this one was cut together:
And another TV spot featuring Tessa giving some taunting words to Dek:
Another movie clip was released:

Чому всі вважають "Чужий 3" поганим фільмом? Це надзвичайно емоційна частина франшизи.

First, one, and then the other!
Damn, I really like this design.
I want to know why they decided to give the practical Xeno suit a much longer face and a shorter dome; it reminds me of Hellboy in a way.

I've got a really bad feeling about this. Considering how they've destroyed PREY and Predator: Hunting Grounds by including young versions of Dutch and Mike Harrigan alongside Naru. And... they didn't even check their own source material... Do they not know that "Xenomorph Prime" and "Yautja Prime" were made up by fans on some fanon wiki? Are they just using AI to write new material by scraping wikias for info instead of reading the last 40+ years of lore?

So, where is the double feature with Prey actually being shown? I can't find it in any AMC theater in North Texas.
Yeah maybe they're saving Abe for something special in the film, curious there's an absence of his acknowledgement in the credits. There was a lot of confusion with names and roles throughout this production as outlets reported on their set visits. Its been a nightmare to keep track of 😂
Got mine yesterday, though I don't think I'll ever use the Alien Earth Turdomorph since I have the superior OG Xenomorph
Definitely pales in comparison to the original but you did your part!

I saw that list on a Reddit post in both the Alien and Predator forums, and wondered if it was true, as they didn't link to the Disney site/page they said they took it from. Also Cameron hasn't confirmed anything himself either, but it does say he worked on the film in his stunt guild of New Zealand profile. I hope it's true and that he has a starring role, because it would be so cool for him, he seems like a really nice person and he's a great stuntman, i'm really happy for him and i'm sure the action scenes will be awesome. The drone synths look incredible and i've been looking forward to seeing them since I saw the first trailers. The only thing that bums me out from that list is there's no mention of the Synth named 'Abe' that the director talked about in a couple of interviews, perhaps that was cut or just a red herring, who knows.

It's not the first time the King of the Monsters died. Gojira 1954 Godzilla vs Destoroyah Godzilla 1998
Correct yes, more so the statement above was for licensing of the Godzilla character, where in the past has been under strict rules stating Godzilla can not die. Toho have killed Godzilla themselves but when it comes to Western representation, they’ve opted to keep Godzilla unkillable, for the most part.
