But either im not old enough yet or i was too old when i saw it, for it to have nogstalgic value. (Id vie for the former.)
I hate to say it but Godzilla 1998 (which was also the first giant monster movie I ever saw).
As far as the Toho films my first were the 1956 English dub of Godzilla (1954), Mothra vs Godzilla, and Godzilla: Final Wars (which is kind of ironic). I had also watched clips from Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster and Invasion of Astro Monster on TV when I was younger, however, I didn't see the full movies until much later.
Totally would, and the way I'd make it is that since the two don't meet in my or the OG version of GVK...there would be a more subtle lining to that.
Thats a cool concept. It would also make ren a more interesting character as well.
I feel like this movie could very well be leagues ahead of the first movie in terms of story and characters. And even though I liked the first movie, this needs to be better than it in almost every possible way.
Because I think that would finally prove whether or not we need more movies.
It is an interesting idea, and one of the main reasons I made Madison's story with Emma more prominent was to create a parallel between Madison and Ren Seriwaza in my rewrite of GVK, as Madison would be trying to learn from the mistakes of Emma and build a better future. Meanwhile, Ren is intent on undoing Ishiro's work due to his anger and resentment of his father's fascination of the Titans, as it made Ren feel lesser to him.
You just gave me an idea.
And I completely agree with you. The titans wreaking havoc could have been a direct allusion to how theyre choices really affect each other. And because she has this power to control titans she is abusing it. Not consiously, but its a reflection, of how she is pushing Madison away.
An Idea i have been thinking about recently is how Dougherty described how she was in tug of war in supporting her parents. Even thought she is with Emma she still wants to love her Dad and Mom, and both of them are trying to use her against each other.
I dont know, I thought it was an interesting Idea.

Yeah, and the middle dragged. But the middle part would heavily focus on the larger family drama and how most of it stemmed from Emma's obsessions with the Titans and how it affected everyone, especially Madison.

Imo i think the family drama could have worked. But the story forgot that in order to be a story, you need a good middle as well.
As you guys may now know the main human story wouldn't really be the Russell family drama in my version, it would instead be a more contained and grounded story about Emma and Madison.
Also, the Titans would be more accurate to their previous iterations. And I got the lightning shield for Ghidorah idea from a certain King Kong Vs. Godzilla...
It's cool! Really enjoy it...just waiting for the next one. That's all.
Goji, I would say that Emma and Madison should've been the key focus from the very beginning. That way Emma's sacrifice could actually mean something, and Madison would be the one to learn from Emma's mistakes and to find her own way to build a better future with humans and Titans.
1. Vivian was kinda unjustified in KOTM, I would relegate her to a small (un-killable) role.
2. Keep Mothra's OG powers
3. Rodan switches sides midway, or make him fight for himself
4. Ghidorah needs no help, Rodan just is kinda there challenging Mothra for the skies
5. No Oxygen Destroyer, save that for Destroyah.
There is a lot to King of the Monsters I would change.
1. Hold off from introducing the new kaiju and instead build on Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah to make them more impactful for the western audience. Because a lot of godzilla newbies who only saw Godzilla 1998 or Godzilla 2014 didn't understand the hype of Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. Sure Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah were heavy hitters but they kind of were overshadowed by the introduction of the OC kaiju.
2. Place more build up on the Oxygen Destroyer
3. Not kill Serizawa and Vivian
4. I would also play up the benevolent monster aspect of Mothra, making her closer to her Toho incarnation as well as giving her antennae beam and wind gust
5. Make Rodan a wild card, but in the end switch allegiances from being a lone angry destructive kaiju to aiding Godzilla during the final fight.
6. Elevate King Ghidorah's abilities of xenoforming without the need of the other kaiju.
