The bad guys rule, there are no more saviors(jedi) and the rebels are even smaller than they were in the original trilogy, with the empire coming out with the most powerful weapon yet.
On top of all that this is a war movie, and it's very likely most of these characters won't survive. I don't have a problem with the piano in this respect especially since it comes on after the scene of the chracters running while clearly outmatched and getting shot at by a towering AT-AT.

I agree, most of the cast probably die and Disney thought it needed a little happier ending, hence the re-shoots.
I hope the new trailer gives me a sense of wonder.....Cause right now it feels like a made-for-TV movie of the week I'd have watched in the 70's...not a bad thing...just a observation.

but how do you explain "Empire strikes back", it had no sad pianos and it was a very dark (war-like movie).....also Ghostbusters 2016 and Jurassic World weren't war movies...:/
but I understand and you are probably right about the tone of it since people will die.... just tired of hollywierd's same antidote for every reboot. Might aswell play some sad piano for my attempt to point it out lol
besides the piano thing, it looks ok i guess....
Gavin's post got my upvote tho ;)!
mmm "thanks hollywood for ur constant regurgitated feedings..."

Supposedly the re-shoots aren't to take away the darkness. At least that was said at celebration last month. Of course that was by Gareth, and supposedly he's lost at least some of his pull so one will have to wait and see.
@Hawley Griffin
I think you are right in terms of the piano playing is definitely a new shtick hollywood does hence why ESB didn't have it, just explaining why it fit in this particular movie and it's trailer, moreso than most of the others.

Even tho I'm not a Star Wars freak like i used to be and the magic i once had for it is gone, the new trailer looks good...but im still saving my theater money for Alien Covenant lol
