The Confusing Reports Regarding The Next MonsterVerse Movie

MemberGiganMay-12-2022 5:03 PMThis is just a discussion thread, but recent reports regarding the MonsterVerse's next movie (set to film this summer) say that the movie is explicitly a follow-up to Godzilla Vs. Kong and that both Titans will feature in the film. Now, this is coming from official sources like Deadline and Comicbook, so this is the part where it gets confusing. The other reason is that production notes point to Godzilla being entirely absent from the movie (as in the working title being "Son of Kong"). So what's the deal? So, is Legendary just not dishing out info to external sources or are production notes hiding larger plot points that these sources may have spoiled?

The upcoming sequel to Godzilla Vs. Kong stars Dan Stevens in an unknown role, and a release date has yet to be announced.

MemberGiganMay-13-2022 12:11 PMI honestly think its just set after GvK and is a Kong film. I mean ive never heard anything saying godzilla is for sure in it.
Also dont worry about the cast, this is completely normal for upcoming movies. We dont learn the whole cast as one.

MemberGiganMay-13-2022 12:18 PMI know...but Team Kong just needs to stay put. Also if it turns out to be a team-up, Wingard being included does not have me hopeful about GVK's success being repeated.

MemberAnguirusMay-13-2022 12:48 PMThe movie might primarily focus on Kong, however Godzilla could make a small appearance for potential world building. If it's focused on Kong and takes place after GvK, then I assume that Kong's battle with Godzilla would be brought up in some way.
