Does anyone know what this sci fi show is?

Hi, I'm trying to remember a sci fi show I watched that aired around ten years ago. I only watched the first episode and I only remember a few seconds of the very beginning. I think it should be enough though for someone who knows the series to be able to recognize what I'm describing.

It begins with a man getting ready for work and everything looks completely normal but when he leaves his house you see that everything is actually not normal at all with the world. I can't actually remember any details of what was seen, maybe some alien or advanced totalitarian stuff, I really can't remember at all. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
