This is something I would love to see in another Monsterverse movie, but I don't think Mechagodzilla in general will work within GvK.
I do like your idea, but in a movie titled "Godzilla vs Kong," I would like the movie to live up to that title, with the entire plot revolving around Godzilla and Kong's feud. A subplot concerning a machanical kaiju who becomes the main antoganist towards the end would take away from the concept of cinema's most iconic monsters battling each other (and I just overall don't fancy the idea of a team up).
Ultimately, I would never ever put Mechagodzilla in my film if I were making GvK, but perhaps the makers have found a way to fit him in without creating a messy, bumpy subplot (fingers crossed).
Don't get me wrong, this is a great idea, but I would like to see it in another film, not GvK.

MemberTitanosaurusMar-05-2020 4:36 PMWell, this is the movie we're getting, and this is just me trying to brainstorm how to plausibly fit it into the movie's narrative, and the greater MonsterVerse story arc as a whole.
I actually kind of have the opposite opinion. I'm not too terribly keen on the idea of Godzilla fighting Kong. I don't hate the idea, but up until now, I just didn't think it was necessary. I'm not really interested in it as just a straight-up brawl. I'm more interested in how it fits into the MonsterVerse's overall story, and how it carries the universe forward. I maintain that this film's conflicts will be partially a result of what has gone down in KOTM, and the aftershock of all of that.
But who knows, maybe the movie will surprise me and I'll actually be on the edge of my seat more than I expect to be during their fights (fingers crossed).

I 1000% agree. Godzilla vs Kong has no place in the Monsterverse if it doesn't develope / carry the story (but I do love the idea of Godzilla and Kong fighting).
