He is well known for contributing his masterful scores to several Godzilla films, including the iconic Godzilla / military march theme, which has been associated to the monster ever since the release of the first film in 1954. We’ll never forget you Ifukube!
P.S. I am aware that there is a time difference between America and Japan. So for all those who commemorated his death yesterday, I apologize for not being able to get this out then.
"What’s so great about discovery? It’s a violent, penetrative act that scars what it explores. What you call discovery, I call the rape of the natural world."
— Dr. Ian Malcolm, Jurassic Park (1993)
