Why do you like Shin Godzilla?

I'm asking this because I don't see a lot of people talking about Godzilla in general and I love just talking away. I only have one friend who likes the Godzilla Franchise and it gets pretty "annoying" I guess I'd say because I would love to discuss this with other people.

As for Shin Godzilla the monster, I think it is a nice design. The story of its creation and mutation is interesting.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-04-2019 12:46 PMWhen I watched the movie the second time and truly was able to watch his progression it was honestly depressing. There he is a creature created from our own failure to disperse radioactive material responsibily, a one of kind a new beginning to his species. A being whom is truly miss understood and is beginning to evolve and gain consciousness with every evolution. Everybody looks at him and sees fear incarnate but there is truly so much more there, because that is what we created fear, misunderstanding, and a true monster itself.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2019 10:00 AMShin Godzilla is my favorite Godzilla because of what he means and represents. I was living in Japan on 3/11 during the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster. Shin Godzilla was an intentional metaphor for the terrible events of that day and the failures in response. So watching Shin Godzilla is a cathartic experience for me taking me back to those days.

MemberBaragonJan-05-2019 12:11 PMThanks for adding this. I have been wondering what people who were there during this event would think of Shin Godzilla.
