Danny McBride who played the role of Tennessee in Alien Covenant is the new face a re-booted Crocodile Dundee comedy feature film due for release in June....

Dundee: The Son of a legend returns home.

(Above) McBrides character Tennessee from Alien Covenant. Must have been the hat that got him the role XD

Synopsis:

Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he's missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no-one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under. It's time to live up to the family name.

As an Australian Im not sure if I should laugh, cry or apologise for this...

However this now marks the second Covenant star to 'go down under' with Tess Haubrich (an Australian herself I should add) now starring in season two of the Australian cult classic Wolf Creek TV series.

That looks pretty funny. He should be good in that role.

Oh Dear lol

Oh well he was not to bad in Alien Covenant so i guess i will give him a break and Mr Hogan was not exactly going to win any Oscars lol   I also think has movies have evolved from the 80's to the Now's or what ever its called...  Post 2010..  the Comedy Aspects are different and many 80's remakes or flicks that are similar to 80's movies have a different kind of Comedy theme to them.  So i guess while its hard to imagine McBride in a 80's Dundee, maybe he would be fine for the Modern Style of Comedy Version.

Dundee looks pretty good. I forgot how good the original was way back- that was a classic.

BTW- hasn't there been a documentary made or in the making about kangaroos going on over there? I have actually watched a series about those koalas.

BigDave A lot of those 80s movies were/are great although they look a bit innocent compared our more jadedness now. It was just a different era and I think Dundee will probably translate well to 2018.

Kangaroo's are fine. Its the bloody drop bears you have to watch out for.

Looking back at the Crocodile Dundee movie I guess that I would have appreciated it when I was a kid but now I am probably like “nah”. This is something that I will not care about. Can’t they do something new? Unfortunately this just seems lazy to me but if people want to watch it then it is up to them.

To paraphrase Newt: You don’t have to apologize, it is not your fault

Well there is always a Market for these kinds of movies...  I mean the TMNT movies (recent ones) would be like way cool when we was kids, so 8-14 years old, but when we get past the age of 25+  its like Meh! lol

Once in a while a feel good movie does the trick. It helps knowing someone in a sci fi/horror movie will be in it possibly seeing some range in acting skills, and it would be interesting to see Paul Hogan.

Maybe McBride will do a Bishop knife game with a machete!

He is good at goofy. I thought McBride was great in Alien: Covenant. If he tries a Bishop knife game dk, then my bet is that he finishes the movie with less fingers than he began with.
