MemberNeomorphJun-03-2017 4:32 AMjust a quick query, did david blow at the neomorph or did I imagine that? if so what was the purpose?

cabin flutist yacob wagner
MemberOvomorphJun-03-2017 4:41 AMYes indeed he was blowing the neomorph like a good old flute he had trained with a long time!

Lone
MemberPraetorianJun-03-2017 4:41 AMYes he did ali.
He explained to Oram the principal that "if you blow on the nostrils of a horse it will be yours forever/for life."

MemberNeomorphJun-03-2017 5:12 AMah I missed that quote from him. so simply by doing that he wouldv had control over it? or did it simply not attack him as he wasn't organic?

Lone
MemberPraetorianJun-03-2017 5:27 AMIt appeared to trust him, that was his reasoning for it doing so. It did not attempt to attack Oram whilst David was there, even though Oram had his laser sight trained on it and intended to shoot it!

MemberNeomorphJun-03-2017 5:31 AMyea I got that bit, I just assumed it was too focused on david. wouldv been interesting to have seen that bit go on for a little longer and saw what david wouldv done with the neomorph

MemberDeaconJun-03-2017 7:15 AMYep this was a pretty dumb scene.....
I can only think that David is mistaken... and the Xeno strain DNA has on objective and that is to Procreate and all Xeno-strain Organisms have a method of detecting Organic Potential Hosts and this is why they would simply have no interest in attacking David.

MemberFacehuggerJun-03-2017 7:38 AMThe Xeno's senses are different the human ones.
While their visual ability is very limited compared to humans they have great sonar abilities like bats and can track body temperature. The perfect senses for dark places.
Since David is an android he will likely radiate other heat patterns them humans, and probably dont make any noises when he stands still since he dont have a heart or dont needs to breath.
Practically this would mean the Xeno's dont see David as a lifeform and thus they dont have the urge to attack.
The blowing part could be done to mask the human's heat radiation.
I mean it's far fetched, because if that would be the case why hundreds of people died to the Xenos in the other films and they not just made a blow-face-job to calm them down.
Idk seems like another plot hole after a Bourbon drink season.

Seriously though, I think David looks upon these living creations as his and E. Shaw's children!

MemberFacehuggerJun-03-2017 10:39 AMBig Dave I'm with you! The whole scene is silly and I don't care how it was written, it made zero sense to me for Oram to not go batshit crazy and shoot both of them especially after seeing one of his dear "flock" head floating in the water. But " I saw the devil as a child" so that explains it. Gtfo with this nonsense. I'm so glad folks here have enjoyed it, 'mostly' ; however the poor box office reception has proven the series needs a new bus driver and done on a cheaper budget. Maybe R. Scott's son might be up to the task, idk.

MemberDeaconJun-03-2017 2:45 PMIndeed Lone.... if Shaw was ill or had died or been injured in the Crash... David experimenting on here may be like him offering her a parting gift to bare Children.
Before AC came out when i saw the Human Baby Skulls in Davids Workshop
I was wondering after killing off the Engineers or if they was already dead... maybe David then informed Shaw her answers as far as the Engineers... but then he proposed that he could give her the one thing she never had... CHILDREN
And he managed to allow her to Birth Human Babies somehow... but then he saw one get infected and continued to experiment on others or he chose to experiment on them..
This was just one way and theory to explain those Skulls and also how he then had Hosts for his experiments

MemberPraetorianJun-07-2017 1:10 AMYeah Dave, it's just a pity that none of that was explained or elaborated upon, but as we know, that goes for so many other factors too!
Some mystery is all very well. We don't need to be spoon fed, but we still have few answers from Prometheus plus the addition of new, unanswered questions from Covenant!

MemberFacehuggerJun-07-2017 6:10 AMIt seems to me that it was inferring that David had become a Alien-whisperer. Kind of like the bond between man and his dog. Yeah, that kind of awkward....
This scene was one of the many baffling ones in the whole movie. It didn't make any sense and to me, if I have to read the novel to get an understanding, I probably should have just read the novel and not seen the movie.
Can we please get producers/directors to run a script past even one casual fan so they can point out stupid stuff...? It would make films so much more enjoyable if we didn't get all these implausible moments in cinema...
