I watched it for the 2nd time yesterday evening with my brother and nephew.
I love the prologue and then the classic title sequence. The hair stood up at the back of my neck watching it and listening to the dark and ominous updated music score.
However, my favourite scenes apart from the above was the attack on the engineers and David reciting the poem. I really felt sorry for the engineers. You saw they were expecting something great and nice but instead got a brutal deathblow strike from above. Watching this version of the goo working it's magic, tearing, burning, slashing and quickly utterly destroying the poor engineers was just pure OMG moment.
Contrary to many I loved the way David and the little chestburster (Orams son) "greeted eachother". It was a mix of cuteness and that of crazy evil twistedness that was refreshing.

The prologue was epic. After exchanging a few words to each other Weyland noticed and probably realised deep down in his heart that no good will come out of David.

MemberFacehuggerMay-21-2017 3:25 AM1. Opening and title sequence
2. All scenes inside David's cave
3. The "Country Road Take Me Home" transmission, this is genius.

Dark Nebula
StaffNeomorphMay-21-2017 4:15 AM1. Opening scene with Weyland and David.
2. Neomorph attack in the field. When the Neomorph ripped Walter's arm off and whipped him like 10ft in the distance with its tail I was like this.
3. Flashback involving the Engineers.
4. Chestbursting scene. Love the music playing during it and David's happy reaction and interaction with the newborn, after so many years he finally created life.
5. David communicating with the Neomorph.

MemberFacehuggerMay-21-2017 6:59 AMUnfortunately, no great scenes in this movie. I guess when the facehugger jumped on Lope and the Alien jumped from above. But when Brett got killed; had more impact on that scene.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Androids blow and finger each other's flutes.

The shock wave hitting the Covenant. So cool. Would love to see how David sent it. Going to watch this scene a thousand times when I get the 4K bluray.
Cryo fire scene...uugh! would not want that to happen to me.
Walter being a part of the funeral.
Neomorph in the field..tail whipping....far more vicious than the Big Chap....great scene.
The engineer flashback scene! One of the spookiest craziest scenes in the history of cinema....When they zoom in on David using some odd distorted wide angle lens and it sounds like 70's rock opera music!!? Utterly alien scene. 100 years from now they will study this scene.
Mechanical claw against the big chap.
David getting so angry when the captain shoots the Neomorph.
David's Frankenstein like lab....And his damp dark cellar filled with pods. Spooky.
So many amazing scenes.

MemberFacehuggerMay-21-2017 9:09 AMI agree with other commentators that the opening scene is terrific. Visually, just stunning. And to learn that David named himself after a priceless statue is magnificent.
If I had to pick one other favourite it would be the birth of the Xenomorph. I almost sympathised with David, as it was a thing of great beauty.
Another thing I must pass comment on is David facing the neomorph. The creature's laboured breathing made it sound like a tortured beast. Not yet quite the 'perfect organism' David is looking for. In some ways it reminded me of Christopher Lee's Dracula who has great pain in his eyes. Yes, there is a monster, but it is driven by an evil not of its own doing. It's intriguing to imagine what it was making of David. What secret knowledge does David have that he knows he would not be attacked?
Marvellous stuff.
