MemberFacehuggerMay-20-2017 12:37 PM... at the end. It's "game over, man". Divhead could just stop wannabe "you son of a b**ch" Ripley's and Prince Thadeous' life support at any time. He doesn't need them for anything. Then he is literally "God". He has 2000 or so hosts and a coupla facehugger embryos, and a shit ton of Wagner mp3s. He can go throw himself a big Alien partay! I don't see a way out, so maybe they should just end the franchise there. How many times do we have to see a tired plot involving a crew that somehow finds their way to Planet X only to be destroyed. The only way I want to see another movie now is if when Divhead arrives at the next stop on the Muddled Mystery Tour, there are a bunch of Engineers (REAL Engineers, and I don't mean ones wearing oily (unless it's Black Goo ;-) ) work clothes and brandishing wrenches) there to greet him. Otherwise why bother? Divhead is clearly in charge now, and nobody appears capable of stopping him/trying to stop him. (Unless maybe Divhead goes to the bathroom to "play" with his flute, and while there there is another convenient Neutrino MacGuffin that causes RIPley and Honey Mustard to wake up from cryo and they wake others up and/or set about trying to kill Divhead). And that's that.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Androids blow and finger each other's flutes.

MemberPraetorianMay-20-2017 2:03 PMI just dunno anymore. I am not intentionally being a troll, but I will speak my thoughts.
I have yet to see A:C, owing to the fact we live a minimum of an hour's travel from the nearest theatre, but from the synopsis and other things I've read, it doesn't sound like the movie I was anticipating.
Yeah, it sounds like a good movie, but in the end, it's a rogue AI movie.
The storyline of 'Rogue AI passing judgement on Mankind' is pretty cliche`, really.
Yeah it sells tickets, but it's a timeworn plot and shows it, no matter how you dress it up with genetically-engineered critters.
I was hoping for something Bigger, in terms of mysteries, questions and such.
Ah well, I'm a writer, so I'll address such in my works and write the ALIENverse as I percieve it, keeping the essence of both ALIEN and PROMETHEUS alive, melded into an alloy that is being forged to become a blade that will slice the veil and show us grander things.
And YES, you can have Big Philosophy like PROMETHEUS along with satisfying, visceral violence, horror and terror like ALIEN. It's just a matter of having the right characters developed....and a LOT of careful editing and shaping of the story. :)

MemberFacehuggerMay-20-2017 2:48 PM@Black you should really see a movie before passing judgement. It's honestly impossible to say if something is good or bad before viewing it or whatever. Pretty much goes for anything in life. I never tried French onion soup. I though no way. Then I tried it and loved it.
Pink Floyd has a good lyric from Eclipse. Pretty much saying all your life experiences by doing, seeing, feeling, trusting, etc.. Is all your life will ever be. Granted movies aren't high on life changing events or are they?
John Carpenters the thing had a great influence on my writing:)
In the end it's not really about oh this was done before or whatever it's about how it's put together. I wrote a zombie novelette. Zombies have been portrayed a million times. It's about how you portray them and the content.
Also in the end these are works of fiction. You aren't going to find the meaning of life out of a work of fiction unless you are a poser or something.
