MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 4:03 PMDid you see that king "Engineer" dressed in white?
What about all the peasant looking Engineers?
Why do the people look like ancient commoners?
Aren't these supposed to be great scientists who have mastered space travel, science, and mathematics?
No. Their buildings look worse than those in Ancient Rome.
How come they have no ships other than the scorpion?
How come there is absolutely NO technology in the citadel?
After answering all of these questions, it is logically IMPOSSIBLE that these are Engineers. I don't care if they use the Engineers' language because apparently, we did, too (Proto-Indo-European).
Can't wait for the Bluray to come out to zoom in on these brutes.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Androids blow and finger each other's flutes.

MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 6:55 PMYes he has surely lost it indeed @Phallic Jaw. He's cuckoo for cocaine sniffs (puffs didn't really fit).

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:04 PMWell they are an alien species. Just saying. Hopefully we will find out. I think a big problem people have is why don't they have this why don't they do that. Perhaps they advance in certain technologies and not others. Maybe they are space hippies. They are aliens. We don't know anything about them really. Perhaps their planet was ravaged by war or they fought a Great War with other aliens. Stop thinking of it from our perspective.
We are just along for the ride as humans in this great big universe...

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:17 PMI just really love continuity, Spatterpunk. Sorry if this makes me a bad person. Lol

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 8:17 PMDitto, they are not engineers. I believe they were another race created by the engineers in the same way humans were created. Earth may have had a docking system before humans on Earth fell into disfavor. I agree it looks like all the people came out to greet the Engineers who had come to visit and maybe provide their gifts.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 8:21 PMWe will find out. None of us know. Hasn't anything over the last what five years taught you guys anything. We don't know until we see the next one or the final one whatever. I'm sticking with space hippies;)
Seriously some of you guys build such ideas in your head then you get dissapointed when it's not what you thought. Relax, enjoy. Most of the time everyone is wrong. In the chance someone gets lucky they spaz out, I called it.
Then when something is leaked or released everyone changes everything and starts all over. It's a vicious cycle. No wonder some of you guys are so miserable...

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 10:03 PMI believe they are what the Engineers wanted us humans and Earth to be. They were in Awe when they saw the ship, almost as if they were meeting their creators again. I also found it odd that the planet did not contain any ships for David to escape in. The planet and Engineers in that planet were most likely in the initial development or it was a prison of bad citizens

MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 10:14 PMspitter splatter I am miserable cause I had to watch Alien: Covenant okay, give me a break, haha.

MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 10:19 PMHey Phallic I find your comments very funny, I wish you felt the same way about mine, haha. For real though I do

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 10:29 PMSucks man you hated it that much. I'm still a buzz with just seeing it. I have to watch it again and let time sink in. Sometimes over time I change my opinion on movies I've liked or disliked. Right now I'ml like yay. The real question is how will I feel a few months from now.

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 10:34 PM@spitter splatter Well I hope you continue to like it. I am just having fun ripping it cause after I saw it and most of today, well now yesterday where I am, I was pissed. Now I'm in the phase where I've gotten past the anger now I'm just gonna rip it apart.

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2017 6:41 PMThe movie looked so sloppy. Maybe because I saw it in ULTRAVX ... But still, the scenes were obviously cut very short and I could see the whole thing was a rushed shitfest. The POTENTIAL that this film had and the fact that Scott gave in to Fox's demands cheeses me. Most of these complaining bitches like Cameron's Aliens more than the holy grail of all science fiction, Alien, anyway.

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2017 7:31 PMI was purely disappointed. Nothing of the prologue previews played out. We went straight into havoc and never got to "know" the crew. It lost all emotion for me. And the neomorphs were the best thing on the movie. I can understand the black goo creating them so quickly and their births and growth so abrupt. But the facehugger and xenomorph? A facehugger that can impregnate a crew member in seconds on contact? No gestation time? To give birth to a chestburster that grows rapidly? No skin shedding, it just grows and waves "Hi there" to daddy David? No imagination to this movie that even gave an inkling of clue to the space jockey or the creature, the perfect organism, found by the Nostromo... I'm just in utter disgust...

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2017 9:35 PMAgreed!! There's no way in hell those were the same type of engineers we saw in Prometheus. I believe they were some type of subspecies.

Xenocentric
MemberOvomorphMay-20-2017 9:40 PMIs it not possible they are just another seeded colony like Earth? Perhaps with closer DNA to engineers than us?

Cry Havoc
MemberOvomorphMay-21-2017 5:43 PMI have a feeling they stole the biomechanical tech. From something bigger. Which would explain why the Engineer in Prometheus looked too small for the Space Jockey chair on the Juggernaut.

MemberFacehuggerMay-21-2017 5:58 PMWell, I guess David wanted to use the ship to navigate and return to the Engineer home world. I guess David intends to kill every species that is not an Android.
I think this is the person you need to seek and ask.

The two Neomorphs attack the remaining crew members and kill Ankor. The crew manages to kill one of the aliens before David, the sole survivor of the Prometheus mission, rescues the crew and leads them to a city full of Engineer corpses. David informs the crew that upon his and Dr. Elizabeth Shaw's arrival at the planet, their Engineer ship accidentally released a black liquid bioweapon which killed the native population, and that the ship crashed in the ensuing chaos, killing Shaw. As the crew members attempt to radio the Covenant for help, the surviving Neomorph infiltrates the city and decapitates Rosenthal, who was separated from the others. David attempts to communicate with the creature and is horrified when Oram kills it. At Oram's demand, David reveals that the aliens are a result of his experimenting with the black liquid to create a new species. He leads Oram to an incubation chamber and tricks Oram into being embraced by a facehugger, which implants Oram with an embryo. A Protomorph soon erupts from Oram's chest, killing him.
As the others search for Oram and Rosenthal, Walter confronts David after realizing that David had deliberately unleashed the black liquid upon the Engineers.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2017 4:00 AMCovenant 2 needs to be David and Xenomorphs vs Engineers multiple worlds war ... big epic scifi battle on a large scale. Kingdom of Heaven meets Dune meets Rogue Squadron meets Ender's Game please!

Sounds good to me Agronut.
Those on Paradise seem to be related to the Engineers but I agree they could be "progeny" of the Engineers seeding that world Xenocentric.
I believe that Paradise was what we saw in the beginning of Prometheus.
In the Alien: Covenant novelization, Captain Oram and David 8 walk past a control panel (described similar to the control panel in the juggernaut) in the temple as they are entering the lab with all the creatures and the plasticized Engineer. David 8 does also describe them as Engineers in his notes but he could be generalizing those on Paradise.
I agree K-Theory that those on Paradise look like ancient commoners and they might be part of a knowledge caste system...that might explain the robes.

MemberNeomorphSep-18-2017 12:49 PMMy guess is that the Engineers are like the Mayans, or Aztecs, a kind of culture. One possibility is that there were other cities on that planet that were more advanced.
I didn't have a problem with how their buildings looked although they could have been better. Eventually people have a tendency to make up things in their minds and they get disappointed when the result doesn't live up to what they have imagined.
Agronut: I think that they over-did the David thing in Alien Covenant. The next movie needs better human characters because there were no one to root for in AC. They should have had The last supper and Phobos in the movie because it explained the characters better. It was a mistake that they didn't have those. No thanks to another David movie, I didn't like that in Covenant that much even though the movie was alright (2 out of 5 is what I give it).
