It can be anything - it doesn't necessarily have to be Godzilla. Just something Kaiju related.

For me, it would have to be either Godzilla VS Gamera or another option I will mention later. With the previously mentioned movie, I wouldn't mind if it was done by Legendary or TOHO, with Gamera going up against Shin Godzilla or Legendary. If it was done by Legendary, I see their fight as inconclusive, as they are both heroes and when heroes fight it never seems to end with a certain winner. However, if TOHO did it with Shin Godzilla, I see Gamera winning for plot's sake. Shin Godzilla depicts Godzilla as a godly evil that destroys everything for no real reason. And if the two fought, I could see the fight set-up being Shin Godzilla destroying Japan and Gamera coming to stop him. And because good almost always wins over evil (even in monster movies, such as Godzilla VS Mothra), I could see Gamera ultimately somehow winning.

My other idea is a Cloverfield movie, with the Cloverfield monster. However, it is black and white and Clover is made with stop motion like the first King Kong. It is done like this intentionally so it looks like the classic movie monster films, like Godzilla, King Kong and The Giant Claw.

So, what are your ideas? Let me know in the comments!

I want a movie that shows how a kaiju attack can be traumatizing and terrifying.

Imagine people being crushed to death. Buildings collapsing with children inside.

The creature could also grab people with it's tentacles and eat them on the spot.

I want a kaiju horror movie!

And yes, I know I'm insane :p

My ideal kaiju movie can pretty much already be found in Gamera 3: The Revenge of Iris--In that it includes what is most important to me about the genre:

- Traditional tokusatsu special effects, using CG as a tool and not the main event. I want suits, miniatures and a blend with CG to merely add to the toolbox.
- Extremely strong, interesting characters bringing about ideas and issues that continue to be poked and prodded.
- Characters with a strong parallel and connection to the kaiju, assuring both humans and monsters are treated with a fair share of development.
- High stakes and personal stakes with characters center to the kaiju action and not merely observing from afar.

I rarely get all of this in one bundle, but Gamera 3 delivers it in spades. It commits to the genre in a way I've not seen any movie do since it was released. I'm still waiting for a kaiju film to hit the bar this film set in 1999.

I'm honestly not expecting to ever get a kaiju movie like this one again--Either from Hollywood or Japan...

Wow. Good one. I too will stick with existing movies. I have several that might fall into that category for me.

Giant monsters laying waste to your ‘hood should be scary. In that respect, The Host and Cloverfield really fit the bill.

The Host is just a terrifying movie all around, and I’ve amazingly only seen it once and don’t currently own it. I need to rectify that! A must see for all monster/kaiju fans. Incredibly well done.

As for Cloverfield, although I’m not a huge fan of “found footage, hand-held” movies, it works here, and the movie does a fantastic job of showing the panic, terror and real-world feel that a giant monster laying waste to a city would have, first hand. I love this movie, and the parasites that fall off the main creature are terrifying in their own right for different reasons.

The original King Kong is one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s the first big spectacle fantasy adventure story, and laid the groundwork for everything to follow. It probably inspired more people to spread their creative wings in a variety of fields than just about any other film. When a little movie called Jurassic Park came along in ’93, some 60 years later, my first thought after seeing the T Rex was, “I want to see King Kong fight that!” Twelve years later I got my wish and I’ve been in love with the ’05 Kong ever since.

Pacific Rim is one of my favorite giant monster movies, period. It would probably be in my top 5, and most certainly top 10. I love the story, I love the characters. I sympathize with and like all of them. Each has his/her own emotional angle that they are bringing to the story, but obviously with one common goal – to cancel the apocalypse. It’s one of the more complete and entertaining monster movies I’ve ever seen. It has plenty of cool and creative monster/Jaeger action, characters that I like, and some humor peppered in at the right times; just a hell of a fun movie.

As for Godzilla movies, the last great one for this fan is Mothra Vs Godzilla (64). For me it’s the most complete (and nearly perfect) Godzilla movie. It’s the last time, certainly during Showa, that Godzilla was a relentless radioactive, city destroying harbinger. There are no talking monsters, no dancing and no boulder tossing volley ball going on here. You have the dichotomy of this unstoppable force that military might and ingenuity have no effect against contrasted with what appears to be a delicate benign insect deity and her equally benign looking offspring stopping said force with a “soft hand”! There’s something so Bruce Lee about that! There are so many iconic Godzilla moments/scenes in this movie. When I think of Godzilla, the picture I see is of him plodding through that oil refinery/complex. The ’54 original for me will never be touched, but this is right there. This is a Godzilla movie I could watch regularly and never tire of. I would love to get a Blu-Ray version, but with the American frontier missile scene inserted.

Got to agree with Mr.Edgy Name here. I want a kaiju movie with a psychological elements. We can see the realistic impacts of a kaiju attack, such as social and cultural shock. And it happens in a universe where kaiju movies and franchises exist.Imagine what will happen to society when things that seem to be just nonsense suddenly materialize unsuspectingly in the "real" world, causing deaths and ruinations, crashing your dream, your homes, your future, your families, etc.

To explain my Cloverfield idea a bit more - I don't know what it would be called, but it would be styled after the original Godzilla/King Kong movies to capture that essence of being a classic giant monster horror movie. This means the film would be black and white, and instead of CGI, Clover would be a stop motion-based puppet (like the original King Kong). In fact, Clover would look quite like that Hasbro toy of it, just more articulated and detailed. Oh yeah, and in this, it would an adult Clover so it would be MASSIVE!

^Yeah. So it would seem like other classic monster movies. Then, Clover would be right up there with King Kong, Godzilla, Gamera, The Giant Claw and others.

This sounds weird, but when portraying Clover, something like this is what I'm taking about (Warning: Semi-NSFW content)
