Alien Covenant: Post Hadley's Hope

Could the events of AC explain what could have happened at Hadley’s Hope?

In Aliens we know that the Derelict was discovered by Newts parents, and that what happened later, was that there was a last stand. Aliens does not go into the details as to what did happen as much is left to our imagination. From the moment the Derelict was found, we do know that attempts were made to remove facehuggers from their victims, and not always successfully.

If there is one thing that appears to stand out, it is the lack of any reference to an android being at Hadley’s Hope until Bishop turns up. If there had been an android at Hadley’s hope could it have been a Walter or an Ash model? And would they have been responsible for facehugger removal?  Does anyone think that AC could have any great impact into how we view Aliens and what happened at Hadley’s Hope?

We don't know how widespread synthetics are at that point in history (ie. would a small colony have a requirement for one).  None are mentioned in the River of Pain novel.

If there was one it would be more likely to be a Bishop model.

@ S.M. Regardless of what is mentioned in River of Pain novel, and there is also something I am driving at with this thread. AC is going to have an impact on the Alien universe as we know it. What effect it will have on stuff like Rivers of Pain, Who knows? I do not have the answer to that. I do believe however that AC has the potential to change the context of a lot of things. We will have to wait and see. I have deliberately scaled back what I think could be potentially affected in what I have posted in this thread, to see what other opinions are. I am not convinced there would be a Bishop model originally on Hadley’s hope. More like something in between Ash and Bishop. I think Ash because the first attempt at removing a facehugger resulted in someone having their head torn off. Would Bishop with his programming of not harming human life have really taken that risk. I don’t think so. Also, How the hell did the acoustical beacon get missed? Was there someone or something that made sure it was ignored?

I believe Hadley’s hope was a set up. The real question is who by? I do think that whatever happens in AC is connected to the overall context of Alien, but the potential implications also fall onto Aliens. There is certainly the potential for what we know from other sources to be re-written.

" I think Ash because the first attempt at removing a facehugger resulted in someone having their head torn off. Would Bishop with his programming of not harming human life have really taken that risk. I don’t think so. "

With no mention of any synthetic staff at Hadley - especially not synthetic medical staff - then the easiest answer here is that a human doctor tried to remove the facehugger.

" Also, How the hell did the acoustical beacon get missed? Was there someone or something that made sure it was ignored?"

Either a) Dallas turned it off per the original script, b) the volcanic activity that damaged the Derelict turned it off per James Cameron's background info supplied to Starlog or c) Captain Marlow of the Anesidora turned it off per Alien Isolation.

"I believe Hadley’s hope was a set up. The real question is who by?"

The real question is 'Why set up a colony then wait decades to exploit the Alien?'

All of which are bullshit explanations. They wouldn't have required the beacon to locate the derelict. ASH, during the events of ALIEN was collating with MUTHER which would have been transmitting information back to WY HQ. So, Surely he would have supplied them with the co-ordinates to the derelict during said collations?

The poster was good though!
