It has recently been confirmed that Kong: Skull Island contains a post-credit scene, and those who have seen the film already indicate that it is pretty exciting. Numerous eyewitnesses have given various accounts of what the scene entails, with no way to verify the truth behind any of them.
SciFi Japan has recently added the final credit list for the film to their site, and one small line points to one specific account of the scene being correct.
Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS. Please do not continue reading if you want to remain unspoiled.
The line in question is "Characters of “Godzilla,” “King Ghidorah,” “Mothra” and “Rodan” created and owned by Toho Co., Ltd."
This certainly points to all four of these Toho kaiju, all of whom are expected to appear in future MonsterVerse films, making some sort of appearance in the film. Allegedly, according to one eyewitness, the post-credit scene includes two characters being initiated into Monarch, and being shown files regarding Godzilla, as well as pictures of cave paintings of him and the other three monsters, after which Godzilla's roar is heard as the screen fades to black.
If this is true, or even if the four monsters are incorporated in some other way, it makes it abundantly clear that Legendary definitely has plans to use Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah in upcoming films.
