Probably you know concept designer Neville Page and some of his monsters created for the movie Prometheus but I thought it would be a good idea to see your opinions about the possibility of their future appearance in Alien: Covenant and its sequels.

I like his Trilobite very much, so it is not surprising at all that I would like to meet it again in a creative action scene in May. And you?

The images are from his official site:

I'm a big fan of Prometheus's creatures and love some of the things I've seen so far from Covenant.I believe I've heard the trilobite will be seen in Covenant.I even did a thread on how it might be in there.

I haven't heard anything. What do you know about it?

Those images would be great for transitional creatures, but I am a fan of not seeing the eyes.

No eyes is cooler.Funny thing i was watching a thing on the design of the Newborn the other day and they were saying eyes always make things more fearful.I disagreed and it made me think of that thread you ran.

This is still some amazing art though.

I would say that the eyes do add a different sense of fear. As humans, our reading and interpretation of what eye gestures someone or something makes has a profound effect on our system. you could argue the lack of eyes makes us immediately uneasy because we're unable to tell if what we're looking at is a threat or not and we can't gauge its intentions, but deceitful or angry eyes can have the same effect.

ninXeno426, yes, I agree with them, for me a creature with eyes is much more fearful, no doubt.

nin- I make an exception with the newborn. It really worked for that movie imo.

Otherwise, I like no eyes because the creatures are less like us and thus more fearful and menacing.

I basically restated Chris' opinion.

For me this is pure horror:

Looks like someone needed a Squatty Potty.

I make an exception for the newborn too.I said this else where but i just spent the past few hours watching Alien behind the scenes features and Giger him self said it was his decision to have no eyes because it made the Alien more frightening.

Those concepts are fantastic, and would have been outstanding in an unrelated creature-feature. But juxtaposed to the xenomorph, they do not compare, and nothing ever will which is why I personally think it is folly to introduce all these new creatures because all they do is soil the sacrosanctity of Alien.

Some good concepts that was never used, it would seem that instead of using any One such concept they have instead combined elements of a few unused concepts into the creation of the Neomorph.

As far as the Eyes or No-Eyes debate... i think a mixture is whats most effective, were we see no real eyes but we can make out where they should have been.

Or like this concept here.

These monsters that are pictured here look a lot better compared to those that we saw in Prometheus and still they look different from the traditional Xenos so it is cool. The last picture looks like some sort of face-hugger.

MemberPraetorianFeb-11-2017 1:11 PM

The last looks like a trilobite concept.

ninXeno426, yes, that is a trilobite, they can move on their tentacles, it would have been fantastic to see more of them in Prometheus in my op...

Here's to hoping there are more in Covenant :)

So many trilobites by Page! I like number 17 very much:

MemberChestbursterFeb-12-2017 1:32 PM

Sorry, but I just don't "get" the trilobite. I just don't like it. The design is lazy to me, and something a 5 year old might draw. Why is it shaped that way? What is the concept? It really has no form, unless the black goo infested an octopus somewhere, and I haven't seen any seafaring Alien crews...yet.

@starlogger it came from male sperm , remember Shaw had no way having children. So that's what we got a sperm that turned into a squidxeno

@MLG-ified Doge Tyrant we're going to see that for sure in A: C

Starlogger: I think that the squid was alright, but it could have been better. It looked kind of fat so I wonder how it will be able to move at least somewhat fast.

the "xenomorph" lineage HAS to be all Giger. The newer stuff is looking "too" organic, and "slick"...overproduced. The style is fine for transitional, or "non traditional 'xeno'" lineage, but when it comes to the "Big Chap", it had better be all Giger. Even the "newer" Xeno art is too slick, and too rounded. The head is too curved. I'm not a fan of that, frankly, but that's just my 2 cents. I'm gonna love anything in the Alien universe one way or the other, lol.
