MemberPraetorianJan-06-2017 9:10 PMIt seems like almost everything that can be said about the trailer has been said(though some one will find something new to say, someone always does)so instead i ask something more casual(or should i say shallow)What are your favorite Alien games and why(the why part's not necessary). Also feel free to point out the worst alien games, and if you got a good idea for a new one go ahead.I'll get it started with my favorites(once again sorry for the cheap/cheesy topic its just for fun) 1.Alien Isolation 2.Alien Trilogy(Ps1) 3.Alien Resurrection (Ps1) 4.Alien vs predator(capcom arcade brawler) 5.Aliens vs Pinball 6.Aliens vs Predator (Ps3)

MemberTrilobiteJan-06-2017 9:15 PMIsolation. AVP included Predator so I don't call it an Alien game. Never tried the others since I got into the Half Life series way back.

MemberOvomorphJan-06-2017 9:19 PM1) Alien vs Predator: Extinction.
Because I can spend hours spreading my Alien hive and utterly conquer the enemies.
2) Alien Trilogy.
My first Alien game as a child, which I could actually never play for more than a few minutes because I used to be terrified of Aliens. Suddenly became in love with Xenos and the game was a whole lot more fun.
3) Alien vs Predator (2010) on the PC which I still play. Too fun.

MemberChestbursterJan-06-2017 10:02 PMGreat topic and spot on I agree with the ranking.
Alien Isolation is the ideal Alien game, and it really manages to showcase the terrifying nature of the xenomorph like no other Alien game.
It also brought the xeno back to its former glory from the first Alien as this "unstoppable force" that can't be killed unlike the cannon fodder from Aliens (don't get me wrong that's another masterpiece and the best sci-fi horror action film ever made imo)
The sense of being hunted by the Alien was always present and you never really felt safe, not even when attempting to save! This is masterful survival horror design at its finest.
The fact that the slightest mistake could be fatal gave a nice nerve to the gameplay without feeling unfair.
Even the crude worker type androids were scary, as they slowly lumbered towards you like wax terminators.
It's clear that the game was made by fans who obviously loved the film, it shows. From the slightest detail to the trademark sound effects, this was intended as the ultimate Alien game.
I also have fond memories of Alien Trilogy as it was among the earliest games I played on the PS1, and to this date, despite inferior graphics, it remains a scary classic with fantastic atmosphere.
Aliens vs Predator (3) was great despite moderate reviews, while the main characters weren't interesting they nailed the relevant things; the Aliens and the Predators.
I sort of wished that the Aliens where slightly more deadly, or alternatively the Predators slightly less deadly as the Predators felt like bosses while the Aliens were again, cannon fodder. Well it makes sense as the weapons from Aliens packed a punch to say the least but the Predators were portrayed like almighty gods and bullet sponges.
I never played Alien Resurrection but I intend to find one on ebay in the near future.
An Alien game that I would highly recommend is Aliens Infestation for the Nintendo DS, it's a super charming fan treat that also has loads of references to Aliens, with jump scares (in 2D! Hey it works!) and cool dialogue.
I haven't really played a bad Alien game but I skipped Colonial Marines given how it turned out according to critics; dramatically downgraded graphics, AI issues and glitches.
Maybe I'll look into it in the future.
I don't really have a good idea for an Alien game except maybe a great Colonial Marines game complete with motion trackers and the standard set of Aliens, Facehuggers and the Queen, no variations please.
Or maybe Prometheus the game, where you attempt to answer riddles! Each riddle successfully answered will result in a loud orchestrated music clip from the film!
No thanks.
That being said I'm looking forward to more Alien games for sure!

MemberPraetorianJan-06-2017 10:41 PMyeah ive been fucked over a great many times while saving in Isolation.Your right it is the perfect Alien experience.I agree with everything you said about avp the main reason i like it is because of marine campaign.I found the other two to be a little underwhelming(shame because its called alien vs Predator, marines aren't in the title). The alien Resurrection is pretty underrated and probably has more in common with half life than doom.Played colonial marines and yeah your not missing anything(the story is the worst part)glad i didnt pay much for it.

MemberFacehuggerJan-07-2017 5:41 AMIf we're counting AVP games in this category Aliens vs Predator(2010)
The multiplayer was just too fun. Granted Predators were broken to no end and people just spammed them, but the infestation mode kept me coming back to it even when most of the community for it died.
To my understanding the computer version got some patches that helped balance the game, but I've never checked to see if that was actually true.

MemberOvomorphJan-08-2017 1:00 PMIsolation is near perfect. Its literally a joy to play (though also terrifying.) I prefer to refer to it as an Alien Simulator rather than an Alien Game : P
I liked Alien Vs. Predator 2, as well, and AVP 2010 was pretty good. The original AVP was fun for its time, but it had virtually no story. The only part I really enjoyed was toward the end, in the Alien catacombs.
Colonial marines was ok for what I paid - $5.00 or less on sale. The story is pretty terrible, but the game play was ok.

MemberChestbursterJan-08-2017 6:19 PMAlien Isolation being a simulator is a damn good way to put it, especially if you're using a pair of really sharp headphones or surround sound set. It really feels like you're there, being chased by the relentless Alien.

MemberPraetorianJan-08-2017 11:19 PMFunny Colonial Marines is mentioned again. As i've stated above i didn't pay much for it either,i got it in a 3 games for 10 deal at gamestop about 2 years ago.The other games weren't much better.Ironically Colonial Marines is probably the one I've played the most of the 3 games i purchased then(somehow i've played through it 3 times though it makes me want to bang my head against a wall at times).
