Shin Gojira vs Ghidorah(Showa), Biollante, Monster X and Female Muto

Rules: Kaiju sizes are scaled. However, Showa Ghidorah's size is about the same as Heisei Gojira's, that remains the same. Biollante's size remains the same. Shin Gojira's size is the same. No, Monster X can not transform. The soundtrack for Terror of MechaGodzilla is playing during the battle cause I said so.

Verdict: Okay, not sure if anyone read my last post "Shin Gojira vs. Showa Kaiju part 1". Yea, I couldn't think of any set of Showa kaiju that can be great discussion points. I could have easily put SpaceGodzilla, Destoryah and Gmk Godzilla.

Why am I doing this? You might ask. Because no one has really came up with any interesting matches. Someone has to do it, no matter how one sided it maybe. Plus, every time a new Godzilla incarnation comes out, people tend to assume that it is the top notch end all be all of Godzilla incarnations. I remember a time when people thought Godzilla 2000 was the strongest... we've come along way.

In my mind's eye, I can see this being a mid length battle, not too long and too short either. Even after watching Shin Gojira we still don't know that much of what he can do.

This battle raises some questions...

Can Monster X run up to him like he did with Final Goji?

Can Biollante's tendrils penetrate Shin Gojira's skin?

There is a lot we can talk about in this one. That's what debates are for.

I can see Biollante and Muto charging at him. If their smart enough, they should charge at him when he needs to cool down. Not to sure about Ghidorah, yea he has a great resume of fighting more than one monster. But he has died before.

Now about Monster X... hmm... Not sure. He's not fighting a flexible enemy like with Final wars Godzilla.

But Shin Gojira has some nasty beams that I have trouble fanboying over. Let's be honest, there's a difference between building and Kaiju durability. But he did caused a sea of fire....

Well... those are my thoughts.

I don't see shin Gojira being able to take on that stacked of a roster. Biollante and Monster X alone would be good competition much less together with 2 other monsters.

^They would give Shin-Gojira a good fight

This is a classic case of the glass cannon in fiction. He's most certainly got the flashy firepower, but get in close, and he's kinda screwed, especially since he's so flimsy on paper. Toho Kaiju are relatively tough, and could likely weather his beams long enough to either close the gap or catch him when he's powering down.

Considering Shin Gojira was blown to the ground by things that wouldn't have an effect on most Toho Kaiju, I really do not think he can defeat any of them. His beams were really meant to be a devastation to man, not to monster.

He really is not that powerful--but he has potential to be! If he is as evolving as is stated in the film, theoretically he could evolve into a beast built to defeat his threats--those being the monsters you stated. He only evolved the beam because it was all that was deemed necessary to defeat his then rival, man.

If he was facing durable and powerful kaiju, he would have to evolve or die--cause the Godzilla we saw, would blast one of them with his beams and then run out of gas, and then be killed.

Good grief.

So G14 has a chance against Shin Godzilla?

^Yeah, but that's like saying, "So this goldfish has a chance against this other goldfish?" Neither are top tier power-houses, though I would place Shin Godzilla a little higher than some of the comments above.

When it comes to VS debates, demonstrated feats are king. At least with Legendary Godzilla, he has demonstrated durability feats that far exceed many previous film iterations that are corroborated by statements.

Shin Godzilla? We have a MOAB actually drawing blood and train bombs rustling him up.

A building fell on Legendary and he collapsed.

Shin and legendary are only in the debate for "strongest" because of their sheer size, they both fall short in areas to the other monsters or versions of Godzilla that match them in that area.

I would argue showa is above both if not for the fact he's half their size.

Beaten and exhausted by the M.U.T.O.s, managed to catch himself from being completely crushed, and the building was over twice his size.

Sure, Shin Godzilla had more buildings fall on top of him, but he was budged by train bombs likely not even breaking kiloton at the highest end calculations, and he's not exactly the most graceful of iterations.

^100% with TheGman.

Good grief.

You guys color this with context. Legendary can collapse after 1 building because he was already losing the fight to the mutos-OK, still great

Shin gets multiple buildings after fighting the military and train bombs- Weak glass cannon.

I hope you see where this is going. Neither are top tier, but at least Shin has that beam making him a wildcard in a 1v1, they both would still likely fall to a decent amount other toho monsters if you take their size away though.

Do not underestimate the sheer strength and durability of Godzilla 2014; he may have been "losing" the fight, but he still did win. Remember, this guy had just arisen from his slumber--we can give him a benefit of the doubt for being rusty. Whereas, Shin was in his perfect form, and after the military prepared for him he stood no chance.

He literally was obliterated--I mean he was on the ground with his mouth agape. Godzilla 2014 dealt with beings meant to kill him, two of them! And still won after days of battling. Do not forget the building did not take him out--he just fell over for a moment, before getting back up to kill the female Muto.

Good grief.

There's that perspective context again.

You can say he was rusty, while I can look at it as being well rested and energized.

Shin Gojira was also still relatively new to his surroundings evolving as he went so you could say he was essentially a new born.

Legendary was losing; likely would have died, then eggs got blown up distracting the mutos, there's 1 save. Then after taking out the male the building fell on him making him collapse. Why did the female not take advantage? Once again busy with the military, and how did he take her out? Coming up behind her while she was preoccupied. The military also never really cared about Godzilla in 2014 most of their plans were directed at the mutos.

It's not an underestimation, it's what we saw in the movie. You can color it different ways but the picture still comes out.

If it makes you feel better I don't think Shin smashes legendary, but I think there are monsters in the Godzilla universe that could take either one pretty easily, 2 being on this roster that shin has to fight solo, hence why I said he would lose.

At the end of the day, both have their strengths and weaknesses over previous Toho kaiju, albeit due to Shin Godzilla's glass cannon status compared to even Showa iterations, many of us rank him lower even when compared to the true American version's less ridiculous presentation.

I'm waiting for the next Legendary Godzilla to be honest, but in regards of the Showa Era Godzilla.... Oh my god that moment when Godzilla grabbed his own tail and just atom breath his way in the air to fly was just ridiculous!

"he may have been "losing" the fight, but he still did win."

Thanks to Ford.

"Whereas, Shin was in his perfect form"

Who ever said that was Godzilla's perfect form? It was explained he could continue to evolve in to whatever it's body deemed was the next best evolutionary form on the planet--Hence why it was evolving in to humanoids at the end.

Either way, neither are top tier Godzillas. Arguing in circles about 2014's chances against 2016 admittedly makes more sense then stacking them against powerhouses in the Heisei and select Millennium movies. Neither would make it.
