I love that G 2014 has more of a T-REX Jaw, while G2000 has more of a lizard kind of jaw.
and they both kinda have the same sort of skin texture and both of em have bomps on there back part of there skins.
and G 2014 on ome parts of his body he seems to have some fish like skin textures as well. while godzilla 2000 his skin is completely reptilian.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 7:14 PMI agree with you 100% on what you said with G2000 and G2014. To be honest, I like how G2014 is CGI instead of a rubber suit, because we'll be able to get better shots and realistic movements (Andy Serkis please do the suits a justice). I never really liked the suits much.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 7:36 PMGodzilla(2014) is putting every other Godzilla movie ever made to shame. Especially my favorite, Godzilla vs Destoroyah.
AND I LOVE IT!!!
I just noticed that my comments fluctuate between very well worded and thoughtful and outright kid-ish and partially obnoxious. That's kinda neat.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 10:07 PMMy favorite suits have always been G2000(Due to the agressive and unique design) and G1954(Due to it being a classic yet scary design). I feel that this Godzilla is a cross between those two. Astonishing while also being terrifying.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 11:15 PMI like the jagged/angular (rather than 'puffy') spines of the Millenium series. I'm glad to see that Godzilla 2014 seems to be going for that look as well.
I do really the 'GMK'ish jaw in that it's squared off in the G2014 design, not rounded or dopey like a lizard's or something. It gives it the sense of having a more powerful biteforce, as well as making it look more intimidating.
The plated 'crocodilian' like skin texture is a cool new feature, and gives an awesome look of natural armor, rather than just skin.
I am concerned about the 'bulk' of him though. I do want a Godzilla that can brawl well, as well as be flexible, sneaky, or nimble in a way. His frame seems very similar to the Heisei Godzilla, and that I don't like.
But with the CGI work, maybe Godzilla 2014 will retain a decent amount of mobility. Hard to say without seeing the movie.
Overall, I'm very happy with the new design. I'll need to be able to see how it moves though before I can finalize my opinion of it.

MemberBaragonApr-02-2014 8:36 AMMy favorite Godzilla is Biogoji aka the 1 from Godzilla vs Biollante. I prefer the legendary Godzilla's body structure, no doubt due to the fact it wasn't constructed with an actors mobility in mind, but so far I really prefer the Biogoji's face. I'm not too big a fan of the new face. It's not horrible, but definitely not my favorite.

This is a good question because I honestly don't know which past Godzilla is my favorite among them. I have qualities in all of them that I like and don't like. For example, GMK. I LOVE the bejeezus out of the eyes, but I hate the hunchback look. G2000, I love the body proportions, but I don't like the purple coloration of the spikes or the fact that he's actually green (I love the shape of the spines though). Godzilla vs. Mothra (original), I loved the evil look, but I didn't like the bell shape of his body. It was a bit too human.
Things like that keep me from having a true favorite, but if I had to pick a single suit that I liked the best out of all of them, it has to be Desu-Goji. That glowing suit with the lava-like rashes or whatever they were just made my jaw drop when I saw it for the first time when I was a kid. Also, the tone of that film was perfect. Well balanced with suspense, impending dread, and ultimately the sense that no matter what happens, humanity is going to lose. All of that culminates in my love for that suit.
When it comes to Godzilla 2014, I have my likes and dislikes about the design, but the likes FAR outweigh the dislikes.
I love the face, but I think the neck (specifically the throat) could be just a little bit thinner. Just a little. Right now he looks like he's got a pin head, though that does harken back to the Heisei series given the head/body ratio. I don't like the look of the torso, as it appears a tiny bit boxy in the toys and a little bit chunky in the belly.
However, I pretty much love everything else about it.
