Why it would be a good thing if starwars 7 was rated PG

You have to consider though that the rating system was much different back then.  For example, Airplane (which was made around the same time) was PG even though it showed nudity.  Airplane would instantly be given an R-rating nowadays.

They probably will be, as Gavin already stated, every Star Wars film was rated PG so far, I don't see that trend changing for Episode VII.

Less is more. Violence and gore does not make for an intelligent story, and pg rated films can make a point and still be entertaining ;) By all means 7 should be as easy, and challenging as possible!

True, considering every Star Wars film (exept Revenge of the Sith) were PG. However, I heard from somewhere that Episode VII was going to be PG-13. I don't know of it's true or not.
