MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 4:46 PMIf the movie is successful, we should we get an animated TV show based off the film? Kind of like how the 1998 movie I starred in did. Would you want to see a cool Godzilla 2014 animated series.
I would want it to be full of action like this movie will be, but I would make it so that it's light-hearted enough so it can be accessible to kids. Because, kids love Godzilla, too, and it would be wrong to leave them out. It should continue where the film leaves off.
Overall, would you want a Godzilla 2014 animated series?

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 5:02 PMNo, no no no NO. i'm sure the reason the 98 film got a series is because it was a way for sony to redem themselves, if there was a animated series it should either be 1. a serious series like Batman the animated series or 2. be an anime (also serious)

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 5:19 PMOh, Hell no! Godzilla 2014 isn't going this route and I hope it never does, if this movie is successful then it better get more live action big budget sequels and become a (hopefully long) series of films rather than a tv series of... how much? 30 episodes broadcasted through a single year?
Emmerich's Godzilla only got a tv animated series because live action sequels were canceled due to the widespread negative response among fans, professional critics and the guys at Toho. No one wanted to see a sequel to that film so of course the only relatively cheap tactic they could use to continue exploiting their product while they could was to produce a tv series aimed at kids so that they could sell the toys that were left in stock.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 5:20 PMi think there should do it like the two recent transformers series. one like transformers gobots ( i think thats what its called) that is light hearted and geared more towards a younger audience and one close to transformers prime which is geared more towards a more mature audience. that way we get the best of both worlds and nobody goes unhappy

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 5:39 PMThe only way I would be willing to accept a tv series is if:
1.-It was an Anime: And also japanese one, or at least a co-production with an american studio.
2.-It parallels with the production of the live action films while not interfering or affecting the production of these (assuming we get more films).
3.-It isn't related in any way to the 2014 film: If it was related it would interfere with the plot of the 2014 film and its potential sequels, because according to Gareth Edwards the film tries to have a very grounded and realistic atmosphere and if they suddenly, out of nowhere, introduced an anime that expands the story and also adds 20 new monsters would make the story look very far fetched and over the top, so better not interfere with the live action films and let comics do the job instead.
4.-It is serious and dark: Kids already have 28 Godzilla films and 2 tv series to enjoy, and some of those films were produced almost exclusively for them. Let the mature audiences have some Godzilla series created for them!
It would be great if the anime was inspired on comics such as "Godzilla: Rulers of Earth" or "Godzilla Legends" and also very serious, sort of like Ultraman Nexus and Ultraseven X which were Ultraman series aimed at an adult audiences for their mature themes and disturbing content. Just my personal opinion.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 5:54 PMAn animated series? No.
But the new Godzilla movie isnt necessarily un-animationable(Yeah, i just invented that word). Why not do straight to dvd animated movies, like the Hellboy Animated movies? Those were dark, and while they were obviously geared towards mature viewers, kids could still watch them.
And if we can get a graphic novel, straight to dvd animated films are NOT out of the question.
True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 6:15 PMI'd love an animated series of the 2014 American Godzilla. I've seen the 1998 Zilla series and enjoyed them. I've been pondering on how an American Godzilla series would be, but before I can begin to ponder on story style/telling vs the 1998 Zilla series I'd need to see the movie first to get a feel for the universe it will take place it.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 6:29 PM@LYUZTAVEN Dang. That's some strong analysis you have there. But, I can understand your point. From your saying, It would be likely that there would be no need for sequels because the TV show would've used up all avaliable storylines for sequels.
THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS
MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 6:57 PMI would prefer movie sequels rather than a tv show I loved the american godzilla animated series but i just want this Godzilla to stick to movies and a comic here and there
GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-13-2014 7:53 PMmovie first, then series, or if it is planned well enough, i would want a series that connects the various sequels
