This is a micro story for dinosaur day. As the name implies, it is about a Balaur that lives on Isla Sorna. This is a one part story, so I hope you like it. "Bond, James Bond" said an employee from Site B. A little Balaur is looking at two employee. He is an adult, and as a kid, was given the name James Bond, but they normally call him Bond. "He isn't aggressive like the Velociraptors" noted the other employee. "No, it seems Balaurs are quite friendly." said the first employee. The Balaur walks closer to the second employee and studies him very hard. The second employee starts to walk away, and the Balaur follows him. The first employee says "Hey, Bond is following you. I guess he likes you." The second employee turns around and pets the Balaur on the head while saying, "Good Bond, now run along now." As the second employee walks away, Bond stays around. The first employee goes away, and Bond follows him. The first employee goes to his house and opens the door. He closes it just in time to keep Bond out. The Dromeaosaur remembers how the employee opened the door, and, being an especially smart Balaur, who normally are smarter than Velociraptors, figures out a way to get to the door handle and open it. Bond knows that the handle it too high for him to reach, so he goes to get a rock, and stands on it to reach the door. He then turns the handle and opens the door. The first employee turns around and is shocked to find Bond standing in his doorway. "Did you just open that door?" asked the first employee. Bond is a favorite around employees, and has been around them countless times, and understands some English and Spanish as well as body language like nodding and clapping. Bond nods his head to reply, and the employee is amazed. He goes over to the Balaur and pets him, and then Bond jumps up onto his shoulder like a bird. The Dromeaosaur was too heavy and the employee falls with Bond on his back. Bond didn't mean to hurt the employee and gets off quickly. He then checks to see if the employee is okay. The employee gets up, unharmed, and looks at Bond. Then, Bond walks away through the open door. The next day, Bond passes by a few employee, who stop and looks at him. They know Bond when they see him, and they have hears about the door incident. One of them jokes "What's next, he picks locks" and the employees burst into laughter and walk away. Bond doesn't know what a lock is, but it brings back a memory of something he did fairly recently. Like yesterday, he had followed an employee, and it led him to the hatchery. He remembers seeing the employee punch in the numbers to a code on the door, and then it opened. Bond remembered the numbers, "34 blank 15 blank 58 enter" and so he got a rock to stand on and pushed the same things. Then turned the handle and got in. He snuck in, and the door closed behind him, startling the Balaur. The Bond walks through the hatchery, seeing egg after egg. He goes to the corner and sees a sign that said "unlikely hatch" and though Bond doesn't know what the words mean, his instincts tell him that the eggs off to the side are the ones that normally go to predators and are eaten, giving the healthier eggs a chance to live. He jumps up and bites one of the eggs. Then, he starts to go to the door when he hears footsteps and thinks that if he is caught, the "parent" will punish him, and seeing that humans are the only thing around, he thinks that they laid the eggs, so he hides under a table. His brown feathers contrast the stainless steel ground, but he isn't seen. One of the employee who entered the room notices that one of the "unlikely hatch" eggs is missing, but just thinks that someone took it away for testing. In fact, Bond still has it in his mouth, not daring to break its shell for fear of its shark cracking sound and making his presence known. Finally, the employee leaves and Bond is able to get to the door. This is just a simple door nob, and by jumping, he finds that he can open the door easily and he escapes to eat the egg. Bond remembered how the memory sparks in him when he hears the word "lock" and thinks that the thing he had to enter the code in is a lock. For the next week, rumors spread around about Bond, and his talent at opening doors becomes apparent. He has even been observed to swipe a key card and traditional keys and locks. It is said that he has his own stash of door opening tools hidden somewhere in the complex. Bond is getting used to people and being inside buildings when he comes to a vending machine. He sees someone out in money, punch in a code, and watches as a bag of Doritos falls and the person grabs in from inside the machine. Bond wants to try this, so so goes around, looking for a dollar. After a few hours, he finds one, and brings it back to the vending machine. He goes off and grabs a plant to stand on so he can reach the slot. He puts the dollar on the top of his hand so that there is about a quarter of it hanging off, and then he moves his hand towards the slot. An employee comes around the corner to see Bond put a dollar into the vending machine and then look over the possible codes. After Bond finds a good one, he types it in and a bag of beef jerky falls. Then, Bond jumps down from his plant and sticks his snout in the slot to grab his jerky. He pulls it out of the machine to the full view of a shocked employee, who has brought out his phone and video taped what he saw. Then Bond rips the top off of the bag of Jerky and starts to eat, oblivious to the employee standing barely twenty feet away. After Bond finishes his Jerky, which he thinks tastes wonderful, he walks away. The amazed employee runs to the security center and talks to the shocked people who work there. They then make a phone call, and the next day, a helicopter flies to Isla Sorna. An old man in a crisp white suit gets out of the helicopter, and asks to see Bond. The employee soon find Bond and he, followed by a few people, soon come walking up to the man. The man says that everyone can go, and they do, and then he squats down. The man says, "My name is John Hammond. Its a pleasure to meet you Bond, Ive heard a lot about you. How would you like to come with me back to Isla Nublar?" Bond didn't understand much of this, but he knows that John wants him to go somewhere new, see new things, learn more, meet new people (and he finds humans very interesting) and try new things. Bond looks over to where the man came from. The helicopter isn't too far away, and he starts to run towards it. He finds that the door has a different handle then what he is used to, but he is smart and realizes what you have to do to open it. So, demonstrating is intelligence, he grabs some rocks starts to pile them up. Finally, he reaches the handle and pulls back, opening the door. Ten he jumps into the seat next to the pilot, who get a bit nervous having a dinosaur around him. John Hammond laughs with joy and amusement at seeing Bond do that, and he climbs into the back seat to the helicopter. It soon takes off, heading for the Nublar Park, two years from opening. Well, that was A Balaur on Isla Sorna. I'm going to ask, should I make a sequel. Depending on what you say, I'll make it. The title, A Balaur With Hammond. Well, tell me what you think of it. This is Deltadromeus, signing out.

Haha, what a beautiful story. Nice you have chosen a Balaur as main character and is even nicer that he's a good guy.

I still think Tarascosaurus deserves more press too. I mean, it's name means Spanish Dragon! That's awesome! Cool Delta. Looking forward! I'm still amazed how smart your Balaur is. Man, he knows a little english and spanish, more than what know many of my friends. (Only romanian).

Well, he has the Velociraptors brain, but is smarter, and has a better brain mutation. Also, he is smaller, so the mutatin is more drastic.

You're talking about brain-body weight difference, right?
