Ok, so now we at least have something to go by when talking about this movie. Here are some of the more obvious questions that I really like to know more about:
*What is the dead thing? Now I really want to know.
*Why is it still smoldering? Was it smoked by Godzilla or the army? Is it me, or does it seem to have a shell like a turtle? Does this creature look familiar to anyone who has seen all G-flicks?
*Where do all these creatures come from? ( Godzilla / the centipede/ the mantis?). I seriously hope it’s not some time portal or that they were dropped off by aliens…I hope they came from 20.000 fathoms beneath the sea, that and a healthy dose of radiation. Will it criticize the recent accident at Fukushima and how it is partially covered up by the Japanese government ?
* The shot at 0.33 definitely reminds me of zilla 98. That’s probably the last movie I wanted to be reminded of….
*I think it’s awesome that they used the score from 2001: A space Odyssey .
I would love to see some feedback from you g-fans. Thanks in advance!

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 8:36 AMWow, so much enthusiasm... Okay, this film is doomed: where's the hype? I get nothing frolm this (so-calles) premium-website about Godzilla. Way to go dudes...
Like Prometheus showing too much, this is showing too little of the WHOLE DANG thing we've been waiting for so long...

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 9:06 AMThe "dead thing" is more than likely one of Godzilla's foes.
It's still smoldering from when it got its ass handed to it. It shouldn't look familiar at all. All new monsters.
New monsters are more than likely accidental mutations that occurred while trying to play around with nuclear energy.
Fukushima? Maybe.
Godzilla '98? How so? I'm not saying that it can't provoke thoughts about it, but I'm curious to know why you thought about that specific movie/monster.
The music that was in the teaser wasn't part of the "original" soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey. They used it most famously though. The name of the song, if memory serves me well, is "Atmospheres", composed by Gyorgy Ligeti.
Just because you're not getting attention, doesn't mean that the hype is lacking, or the movie is doomed. We're too busy watching the trailer we all, should've, downloaded yesterday and trying to determine when we'll wake up.
This isn't even a full trailer, and it sure as hell wasn't meant to be released yet (which explains why the trailer is not available online anymore). It was the teaser that was edited for the 2013 SDCC, but as I wasn't at the 2013 or 2012, I'm not exactly sure which one it is.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 9:08 AMOK, let me start off by acknowledging the fact that the dead thing in the trailer was NOT a centipede. Those rumors need to be put to rest. It is more of a multi-legged lizard creature than anything else.
But it may or may not be in the film. We don't know yet. That teaser was more of concept footage than an actual trailer. But you never know.

MemberBaragonOct-05-2013 9:09 AMWell this trailer came from the 2012 comic con and to my understanding the movie wasn't even finished being written at that point. As for the monster in it, doesn't look like any monster so far. When I heard i described as a centipede a year ago the first thing I thought was great a mothra larvae. Thankfully it looks nothing like her, or any other monsters.
As for where they came from I'm guessing something got radiated, normally godzilla movies dont get too complicated it terms of origin.
When I saw that shot I got reminded of 1998 godzilla too, but the building behind it is also basically torn in half and it would make sense that if a monster went through a city he would go through buildings so that really doesn't bother me.
Personally loved the music and monologue in the background, it really set the tone and was a great edition to an otherwise mediocre trailer.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 10:33 AMMaybe Godzilla used his atomic breath to make a hole through that building (and maybe others and the multi-legged monster too?)

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 4:31 PMI've been up all night because of this trailer and I was dead tired when I posted this thread.
I just hope this movie is going to rock.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 5:15 PMWhat looks to be part of the creatures tail reminds me of Baragon a little bit but I doubt that any other Toho monsters will be in it. I don't think aliens will be involved since Edwards wants to ground the movie in reality as much as possible and having aliens will remind a lot of people of the original series of movies.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-05-2013 5:37 PMI heard a rumor (though weve all heard the multi armed bugger was just part of that test footage) that the multi armed thing in the film is presumed to be godzilla and while wrecking the city THE REAL GODZILLA SHOWS UP TOWERING OVER IT BY ATLEAST 200 FT AND DESTROYS IT AND WHATS LEFT OF THE CITY. to me that idea is SICK if it is in the film but honestly its been so long and never have i seen the GMAN that big that at this point i dont think i can find anything to complain about CHEERS BROTHER

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2013 1:31 AMI multi armed creature does have baragon like appendages, it looks odd. and what's up with all these foe's being much smaller than godzilla, is he just gonna blast through all of these guys easily. Btw the smoldering on the multi legged creature is probably from godzilla's atomic breath. Which brings me to another point, Godzilla himself. I think his roar is much to high pitched, and should be deeper and shouldn't end with random whale calls ..... I don't know. He himself though looks really bad ass, I love how damn menacing he looks

Excuse me? Bollocks! There is nothing mediocre about this trailer. If anything fans description of it post comic-con 2012 up until this leak have came off as "mediocre", the trailer itself surpassed all expectations and it didn't need a discarded musical score from some old Kubrick flick to show that.
Anyways, can't say anything more about the awesomeness of this trailer that hasn't already been said other then I disagree with the feeling that this trailer has anything resembling the 98 film. In fact this trailer for me has already begun the memory erazing process that Bryan Crannston talked about.
