MemberMothra LarvaeMay-25-2013 3:36 PMOK, so over the past few years, I've begun fashioning a modest collection of Godzilla movies. Now, every so often, if I get some overtime, I say to myself, "OK, suck it up, do this, and you can get a new Godzilla movie or two." So here I am, having just completed a 12 hour overtime shift, looking for a new Godzilla movie, and the next one in line is: Destroy All Monsters. I pop onto Amazon, and my jaw almost hit the floor...$100? For a Godzilla movie? Now, economic sense tells me that it's a supply and demand game...but how much demand can there really be for a 40+ year old movie? I assume there must be something else, driving the demand and the price up for THIS particular Godzilla movie, as opposed to other movies, which typically go for around 10-12 bucks. But I haven't the foggiest idea WHAT.
So does anyone know why people are gaga over this movie? I don't get it. Not a huge deal...I have plenty of other holes in my collection to look at, but a hundred bucks for ANY movie would make me think something was up...

AdminSpaceGodzillaMay-26-2013 2:16 AMWow, yeah $100 is very steep for any movie. Especially just for one. If it was a box set, then okay, but for one movie? Don't waste your money. Keep looking around and see who's offering them and maybe try to talk the supplier down? Ultimately they want to make some money, so I'm sure they would be open to negotiations. Otherwise, just keep searching until you find a reasonable deal. I would imagine that with [b]Godzilla 2014[/b] coming up, TOHO will re-release a ton of the classics on Blu-Ray, to bank the most off of the new film's hype.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-28-2013 9:46 AMi wouldnt pay $100 for any movie no matter how much i like it. there's a whole box set of godzilla movies that come with a bunch of stuff for $500 on ebay. the movie probobly gets alot of hype because it had all the godzilla monsters at the time on it.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-28-2013 7:33 PMI went through a California company off of Amazon that was selling movies for about $7.00 each . The copy of DAM was in perfect condition and it was also contained the original Japanese version as well. I belive it was "Rare Movie or Hard to get Movies" from Northern California! Delivery was great too!
