MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 9:56 AMHey Guys, just thought i would post this just to hype you up...if your not amazingly hyped already, but this definitely sent a shiver down my spine!
Basically, it is the official Prometheus 2 IMDb page...and that is it...but it made me remember how i felt when Prometheus was like this and it was great, plus it made me feel as though it wasn't too far away!
Here it is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2316204/

AdminEngineerAug-07-2012 11:52 AMThanks for the post, very interesting indeed. However when things really start rolling I won't be going to IMDB for the official news, remember when they had Patrick Wilson set to play Weyland? What confusion that was.
I think Prometheus 2 will bring in even more hype to be honest Xeno-Jockey, it's been exposed to a new generation and revived an older generation of great sci fi Alien films. Yes it's received such polarized feedback, but that will all turn to praise in a few years.
I'm very excited Fox announced Prometheus 2 coming in the next 2-3 years, cause it was at the 2 year mark 2 years ago that things started to heat up news-wise, which led to crazy speculation. I look forward to all the speculation - it's a blast to read.

Major Noob
MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 12:30 PMChris: Too true, I only had a couple months here before Prometheus hit the US and it was a major roller coaster ride. But then, when it comes to these things I am a Major Noob.

MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 1:03 PM2014 is ALIEN's 35th Anniversary. If Fox decides to release it on May 2014, this will be a sweet celebration for Alien fans worldwide.
On another note, APES 2 sequel is opening on Memorial Weekend 2014. So not likely Fox will open next to another potential money making machine. Unless..

MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 1:21 PM@Solaris Nice observation :)
Have you heard of phoenix asteroids?
They glow in every color of the rainbow...they travel endlessly through space...

Alien DNA
MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 1:53 PMI remember that Chris, that also reminds me, wasn't he also listed to play the "cocooned man" after that on IMDB. I could see them getting their facts mixed up on who's playing who, but I don't recall anybody being in a cocoon in the movie.

MemberFacehuggerAug-07-2012 2:19 PMI will try (feebly) to refrain from reading any spoiler alerts, as I failed to resist reading one about Prometheus prior to seeing it..so...I read it...It was completely wrong & in effect it screwed up my initial viewing of Prometheus. i.e. Vickers was supposed to turn into the 'Star Creature' & various other mis-information. In regard to repeating the same mistake in the future, I have a flat learning curve, so I will try to wait until after the marriage of the entire cast & crew before reading any of P2's plot summary spoilers. I will also wait until someone on this site tells me where to find valid info!

MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 2:46 PMIf they do the same campaign like they did for prometheus. There's not going to be need for the spoilers. LOL. I mean it because there was hardly anything that we knew came up in the movie. As movie was filled in between the trailer IMO. That said, Hope they don't get some TV series writer this time.

Sorry... had to throw that one in here. That, and 'Prometheus has landed' plus 'Are you seeing this?' are imprinted into my consciousness forever! LOL
@Sky: HOW on earth are we going to manage to stay away from all this massive spoileration for 'Paradise'?? As much as I'd like to stick around for all of the excitement in the build-up, I don't want this to happen to me EVER AGAIN!
God have mercy with me, throw me a bone! :D

MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 3:22 PMDavid Giler not listed as a producer?
Yep. This camper is psyched!!!
Know I've been around the boards bitching about that cat, but if you roll around either "Quad" or "Anthology" commentary with this individual, pretty sure yer gonna come to the conclusion that Giler is the reason most of the follow-up flicks were rife with conflict.
Nothing like a financial figurehead with artistic inclinations that fall incredibly short.
Taking all with a grain of salt - but if you haven't had a chance to watch the commentary on the box sets, take time out to see what Kid Hollywood (Giler) does with his smug rapport.
Renny Harlin? Vince G? William Gibson? David Fincher?
All screwed by this Cap'n D-Bag Ass Hat. Glad he's not listed so far.
**disclaimer: sorry, I've watched this dude roll his face in the documentaries, and my ire rises each time.**

MemberOvomorphAug-07-2012 3:59 PMDon't know about all of you, but I give IMDB a VERY wide berth now.
It's a place filled with idiots and abusive stupid thicko morons.

AdminEngineerAug-10-2012 12:26 PMYes @Alien DNA, they're a site like us - not linked to any studio, so their info may not always be that accurate. That's why I'm cautious to post news we get from over there. But still, any bit of speculation is worth a look over.
And good point @Solaris, May 2014 would be quite the tribute launch date for Prometheus 2. But I have a feeling they'll be planning on a summer blockbuster - as they tend to make more money. But they'll be competing with the likes of Jurassic Park 4 and a couple other big ticket sci fi movies that year.
Who knows, but what is for certain is that these next 2 years are going to be great for sci fi movie fans.
