Forever War
MemberOvomorphJun-12-2012 9:26 AMIt's truly unreal to us here, our Kings really won the Cup, they really did it. Can't really put it into words well but I can easily say thanks for this post, theres our team and the Cup and everyone here is going to see it up close on Thursday at the Kings parade. I understand how people who dont follow sports can view those who do, how intensely we follow a team, I can see how we can look. But when you cheer your team on for years and years through the winning and the losing and you see them keeping at it year after year and then they win the most difficult award in sports to win for so many reasons that it's impossible to say all the factors....well, you cant believe how it feels .
These players live right here, they are in town and about, not hiding like big stars...we love em and theyve known that throughout the years..Los Angeles is NOT a hockey town at all, a small fan base but we never fail to let our Kings know we are here. My God they are the Kings.
Thanks ncc...my face hurts from smiling

MemberOvomorphJun-12-2012 9:30 AMWell, they will have to wait another 40 years for the cup, just like the NY Rangers..because now they will trade all their good players...

MemberOvomorphJun-12-2012 9:43 AMA once in a lifetime experience for both players and fans if you're lucky and it is incomparable to any other award in sports. It may never come our way again..thats the nature of the Cup....thats why it is so special.
Nobody is thinking trades right now I can assure you..LOL...we havent even begun to celebrate..what a summer we got coming hahaha
Its all about this moment, right now, at this point in time..for all the years waiting, hoping, never giving up on our team...one of the greatest highs

MemberOvomorphJun-12-2012 9:46 AMyeah, I remember when I was living in NY and the Rangers were playing the last game against the Canucks...when Messier held up that cup, it was amazing....congrads Kings, I am glad to see them get the cup...they played a great series and Quick was amazing.
To note Quick looked up to Mike Richter, the best goaltender we had in NY but Henrik is doing a great job so far as well...

MemberOvomorphJun-12-2012 10:02 AMOh man we didn't want to face Brodeur and all those vets, I gotta admit we just kinda sunk down but we got back up....we wanted to play New York, I swear.... and we were pulling for anyone going against Phoenix in the Final if we didnt make it there....40 years if we are lucky lol....

MemberOvomorphJun-16-2012 9:32 PMI was happiest this year because of this....
...At the start of each regular season going back 45 some odd years, each year I always try to think of who THAT ONE GUY will be that Gets to lift the MUG at the end of it and at the start of THIS one the LAST guy I would have thought of was the one who did !!!
