MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 3:27 PMAs the end of Prometheus is rumoured to link in with the events in Alien, does anyone have any idea what happened to the chestburster that burst from the dead Jockey in the chair that we saw in Alien?? Any ideas as to where that particular Xeno went??
Thoughts??

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 3:32 PMI think it may have ran loose on the planet (LV-426).
Does the Alien even have a home planet? Maybe LV-426 was where it originated?

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 3:33 PMThe only assumption I thought of, is that the chestburster from the dead Jockey is probably the Queen xenomorph that we see in Aliens. . .

Though I'm not much into the canon-ish thing, I would say that Sir Ridley does take Aliens in mind with that one.
My bet is that we've already been given the answer via Aliens reproductive cycle. With that in mind [and if I were Sir Ridley] I would let it hang as a guess, not answering it directly.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 3:45 PM@david1 - So you think that chestburster was a Queen xenomorph??

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 3:50 PMOh right! :) Yeah I can't think of it being anything but that really. . .

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 4:01 PMLet me state that the Queen deal will only stand if Sir Ridley takes it as granted, if not... there goes the theory

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 4:13 PMIndeed! I think IF the xeno appears in some form, I think Scott will allow it to follow the Queen etc route.

First and foremost i would like to say that i am a complete fan of Aliens and i actually think Alien 3 was a decent movie for what it was...go figure. The only question i would have if the queen from aliens originated from the space jockey in alien would be how was the queen not discovered when the humans came and terrafarmed the planet? From the time of Alien to Aliens was some 56 odd years if we follow the movies timeline. Now the conspiracy theory obviously tells us (and i believe this film with give supporting evidence of this) that the company was aware of a lifeform on that particular planet all along. I know that we are unsure about the complete lifecycle of the xenos..not sure if inactivity puts them in a suspended state like hibernation or what but we do know that the eggs can lay dorment for quite sometime if sir ridley meant it when he said millions of years. To be honest there is still so much unknown about the actual nature of the organism. I think that is where most of our intrigue and questions originate from. Like man this thing is krazy!!!!! For instance what the hell was it doing to Dallas and Brett in the delete scences of Alien? because for some reason it killed parker and lambert but dragged dallas and brett to its nest...why.....was the one we saw in alien also a queen. It had just developed from its ingestation period so it is likely that it was a queen right???/

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 4:47 PM@fanboy79 - Interesting! But I'd have thought the Queen could hibernate/hide somewhere as it knew there werent any creatures on the planet for sometime until Aliens took place. BUT if not, what do you think burst out of the Jockey in the Chair, and what happened to it?

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 5:24 PMThe only link between the two films is the Space Jockeys. This is not like that horrible Thing prequel. You will not see the end of this film leading up to the beginning of Alien. The derelict has been on LV-426 for a long time before the events of Prometheus happen, so there is no connection whatsoever.
That's pretty much the only aspect of the story that Lindelof has been open and unequivocal about.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 6:44 PMFirst of all everyone is entitled to their opinion and i'll give that to people BUT guys you got to stop linking ALIEN with James Cameron's ALIENS. That was James Cameron's vision NOT Ridley Scotts. The only thing that will be related to ALIEN is PROMETHEUS. This is Ridley's vision connecting it in whatever way to ALIEN. Until we see Prometheus and if there will be a second one we won't know the exact connection. It might not link to that Space Jockey on the derelict we see in Alien but something around that element of the film. I think i actually read that Ridley Scott didn't like the Queen part of Aliens. And as we can see from the trailers so far there is no way that Ridley Scott is going that road.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 6:51 PMRS actually liked the idea of a queen, though it wouldnt be his first choice had he done a sequel to alien. Giger loved the design of the queen even though he didn't design it.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 7:04 PMEither way there will be no connection between Prometheus/Alien with Aliens. Too totally different directors.
