Ladies and Gentleman, and Nerds i give you the Derelict/Juggernaut.
In 2122 (Alien) Captain Dallas, Navigator Lambert and Executive Officer entered this vessel through one of the "vagina" shaped orifices on its outer hull. Ultimately this led them to the Pilots room, and underneath via a hole in the Pilots platform to the ships egg chamber (don't even think about it, use one of the dozens of threads for that one).
Then in 2179 (Aliens) The Jorden's investigated the same vessel, but entered via a hole in the, then collapsed, "Hammerhead" arm. Ultimately, as was evidenced later on, this hole must also have led them to the egg chamber.
So we know their is access from the the three ports to the Pilots room, which sits atop the egg chamber, of which can be accessed through the "Hammerhead" arm of the ship. So what of the "Fin" arm of the ship - does that lead yet again to the egg chamber, or is there something else in there.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 5:47 AMWhat I always thought is that the huge egg chamber is basically the whole inside of the ship, except for the pilot room which is on top, right beneath the central dome, but we don't know anything else about it and its systems.
I think that the juggernaut could be basically the same model of the derelict (not necessarily the same ship) with some minor differences in setup (and possibly purpose) as we see several chambers in it rather than a single big storage area.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 5:55 AMWasn't Giger once quoted saying that the Egg Siloh is separate to the ship? And that the ship lands on top of it to dock?
*EDIT*
Just out interest, do you guys think that the derelict/juggernaught in ALIEN is the same as the one in Prometheus?

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 6:02 AMI think Snorkelbottom was referring to this when he said
"don't even think about it, use one of the dozens of threads for that one"
:P

MemberTrilobiteMay-03-2012 6:05 AM@ Mentos - Giger said thatm but Ridley said it was carrying a cargo of eggs, so go figure, but as Noxword said this thread isn't about that, this is about the fin shaped arm of the craft.
Ridley has stated that the ship in Alien isn't the ship thats in Prometheus, so the question has been answered - check the news section.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 6:40 AMI know the answer to this......The fin arm contains>
A cinema complex
Nightclub
Resturaunts
Officers club
Golf courses
In fact the fin arm is the leisure complex........you didnt think they just created new races did you? All work and no play? How boring

MemberDeaconMay-03-2012 10:24 AMYou have to remember the Orginal plans in Alien was to have a temple with eggs and the ship.
But they had to due to restrictions in time and budget make do with the eggs being on the ship.
At that point when they made the movie Ridley and the production team never really had a definate theory for the Eggs Chamber. And indeed it was hinted the Ship laid ontop of such.
But then the Egg Chamber looked a lot like the inside of the ship and some parts of the temple, so logic would say that if its not part of the ship then it must had been a docking station purposely built to hold the eggs that the ship then lands on to load up on cargo. Bit like when you charge your Ipod on a docking station to transfer MP3's and Charge.
But then Ridley hinted at the idea of it being a Bomber or indeed it was carrying a Cargo through Space of Bio Weapons. This would imply that Ridley liked the idea that the Eggs was a Cargo on the ship in a large Cargo bay.
@Mentos
As far as the Derelict/Juggernaut in both movies... i think yes they are the same kind of ship they may have slight differences. I dont think the Prometheus ship is the one that lands on LV426 in Alien but they are same kind of craft.

This 757 is used for Radar duties, but then you have comercial ones that dont have those changes to it. A Commercial 757 crashed into one of the twin towers on 9/11.
The image of that one above is a bit different and did not crash on 9/11
Thats the point with the Derelict in Prometheus and Alien, some slight differences to the same kind of ship, one crashes on LV223 and another lands on LV426 (only thousands years prior).

MemberTrilobiteMay-03-2012 11:03 AMOriginal intentions are mute thanks to Ridleys recent statement, furthermore that is not what this thread is about. I'm asking for views/opinions/theories of what is within the Derelicts unexplored "Fin" shaped arm, not about whether or not the egg chamber is part of the ship, there are many other threads for that discussion
Anyways, Ridleys recent statement clearly states that the Derelict on LV-426 was a bomber carrying a cargo of eggs, thus that argument and debate is now mute
