MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 5:06 PMWhat if the Space Jockeys were androids? I just thought of it. I am defiantly have no idea and am probably way off but what if? Maybe they were made by an ancient race to carry on there mission. What if they take David in as one of there own or want to study him. To my knowledge, there might be 2 androids, who's to say it couldn't be a SJ? The huge head in the ample room could be a sculpting of the original alien life form.
What if the Space Jockey could be the host for the "worm", it might explained the scene in the trailer when the worm goes in the arm of the space suit. It might also explain, why the suit of the space jockey in the seat looks smaller than the one in Alien. The Space Jockey in Alien could be the original race of Jockeys, and if enough time passed by, it would look like it was fossilized like Dallas said.
I know this could be out on a limb so don't beat me up to bad. Your thought?

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 5:11 PMWho's to say David is the only synthetic on board Prometheus? (What about Vickers?) And what if the thing that caused the hole in the SJ suit in Alien was the SJ itself breaking out (in worm form)?

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 5:17 PMHey Jimmy, not at all:-) I think your idea is an interesting one that I hadn't thought of; albeit, augmented by silica's reply. I thought that it's interesting that there seems to be a tenticle theme. Maybe, it's not a tenticle but a worm, e.g., Stargate. Interesting twist that the worm inhabits an android body.
I think that we have still got 20th century ideas of what androids and AI is and that they are outdated. Maybe, the film will address the blurring of the line between the intellgence we are born with and the intelligence we create???

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 5:18 PMThat is quite possible. I/we can't rule anything out. It could be a way for them to reproduce. Maybe, the "worm" is a way of reproducing for them, and one accidently or on purposely went into Saw for argueing sake.

We always assume biology is in control of "technology." One could easily reverse the rolls, saying that some sort of technological life manipulates biological material as a tool to push its self further (like we use computers, etc to augment our own abilities).
This begs the question: what's the difference? If you investigate cellulary life you find nothing but complex chemical. No thoughts. No "life" that we're used to thinking about. The fact that air and "nutrients" interact in a cell is because of certain chemicals therein, housed my chemicals that have linked to form proteins etc. None of which is inherently living/thinking. So what's an android? Who's an android?
