I've decided to do a trailer breakdown/analysis to see if there is any elements we may have overlooked and to help generate some new topics for discussion... Big Storm - As the "Ship" approaches the planet at the beginning of the trailer a big, hurricane style storm can be seen, with a flash on the far right of the shot before the fade into the next shot. This flash, IMO, is nothing more that a flash of lightning generated by the storm, and can be seen again (bottom of frame) the next time the "Ship" is shown approaching the planet (after the smoking helmet scene). Furthermore, could it be that this storm is what hits later on when ash/rain can be seen and when Noomi Rapace is swept off her feet. The Garage - The first time we see the garage in the trailer there is rain/ash falling in front of the camera. The footage of the garage that follows is clean as a whistle, thus the first glimpse of the garage must take place later in the film. The Temple - There is no doubt IMO that when the garage doors open a giger inspired temple can be seen surrounded by high, thick walls. The Big Head - In the shot where Noomi Rapace is looking up at the Big Head, what appears to be Michael Fassbender can be seen a little behind her shining his torch on the ground at something next to one of the urns/ampules. IMO the shot the immediately follows is taken from behind the Big Head, Michael Fassbender holding a loaded bag (Space Jockey "Head") seems to be shining his torch on something broken next to one of the urns/ampules. Smoking Helmet - This man is definitely not wearing a hood, which means this not Marshall Logan Green's Holloway. Its difficult to tell exactly what is going on, but their is a stream of liquid running down this mans suit, from the helmet, on the left hand side (your left, not his left). Space Jockey "Head" - In this scene we have Charlize Theron with her back to us, Michael Fassbender sat in front of her, Noomi Rapace on the right and Kate Dickie on the left. Both Rapace and Dickie look as though they are collecting samples via swabs and petri dish. Red Lasers - These lasers are a puzzle. We can all safely presume they are not Space Jockey tech (blue laser-mist a la Alien), but I am unsure if they are human tech. Although the three characters in the background seem oblivious to these "orbs", the glasses wearing actor in the foreground (Rafe Spall maybe?) seems bewildered/amazed. Note the guy examining something on the floor, the guy with a mohawk. Bedroom - After extensive comparisons I can IMO confirm this man is Marshall Logan Green, thus because we know his character Holloway is in a relationship with Noomi Rapaces character Shaw, we can deduct that the woman in the bed is Rapace. Davids Urn - First off, there is no spiny tail. Looking at the "vials" in this contraption you can see that each "vial" is held by a semi-transparent wishbone shaped sheath that appears half way down each vial. It is this sheath that has misled people to see a tail. Although this contraption seems mostly inorganic, the interesting elements are the dark green growth that appears at the top of each vial and the four organic looking spikes atop each vial. Bang Bang - Here we have two men shooting guns, behind them with have the old bald man being assisted by Kate Dickie with Noomi Rapace behind them. What is of interest is the man closest to the camera, IMO this is the third man in the Wheelchair man scene (see below). Holloway - In this scene where Marshall Logan Green is clearly in pain a lot of people have been misled that there is something viscous on his neck, after extensive comparisons I have confirmed my suspicions, this is just the light in the suit that can be seen on many, many characters. However, his left cheek does seem to be "bubbling". I'm beginning to suspect that Holloway doesn't get infected, but instead has opened his helmet (reasons unknown) and is reacting to the atmosphere (a la Total Recall). Star Map - Originally I presumed that we could see the tall guy in this scene. However, I can now say with certainty that it is in fact Michael Fassbender. At first I thought the display was of our solar system, but I am in doubt - the "sphere" in between the H and E of Prometheus looks like a representation of a galaxy. What is of interest is two things. This scene suggest it is on board a/the Derelict and the panels of the platform are illuminated (yet they are not in later scenes). Also there seem to be two archways in this room (left and right sides of frame), and the circular ceiling suggests the possibility that the platform can be raised. Wheelchair Man - This scene has quite a lot of information. From the hair of the woman falling down I am 85% sure it is Noomi Rapace, but what might be of interest is that as she falls down it appears as though some of the blood on her back fades away. This might be because of the angle of her back as she falls, but it may be something else, I'll let you decide. As for the three men in this scene we definitely have Michael Fassbender knelt down and the old/bald man in the wheelchair, but as for the third man I am 75% sure this is not Guy Pearce. we have a man with a short, military style haircut and possibly stubble on his face. Also, of note, this scene is in the same room as the earlier scene where the Space Jockey's "Head" is scanned (the scanning equipment can be seen on the right of the shot). Derelict Explosion - Taking a much closer look at the shot of the Derelict falling from the sky amidst an explosion I have found that there are flames and smoke billowing not just from below the cockpit, but also part way along the arm that ends with the Hammerhead. There also seems to be some internal damage just below the cockpit, seen as a red glow underneath the ships hull. Mutant - What has become of this guy is anyones guess but from the hair do I'm 95% sure this is the mohawk guy seen in the Red Laser scene. The Chair - One of the doors from the Star Map Room scene can be seen behind the Chair. The Chair has some form of open head rest and a "trough" just before the telescope-esque feature. The tall guy definitely has some bio-mechanical elements to his attire and his head bears an uncanny resemblance to the Big Head. Of interest is the four "pods" on the platform (one can barely be seen behind the chair). The one in the foreground on the right side of frame does have hieroglyphs similar to those on the Big Head. 3 of these "pods" are closed, but the "pod" in the foreground on the left hand side of frame is mostly missing.

Snorkel, you are over-analysing each shot so much that I bet you will be disappointed to find these TINY little details mean nothing in the movie. I guarantee that the final film will be MUCH simpler than all this speculation would imply. Why would anyone assume that little flashes of lightning in the background have meaning? What if it's just some random lightning? Also, I don't think the red lasers are a puzzle, clearly they are from those scanning orbs that are floating around the ceiling, obviously released by one of the men below. I have been anticipating many huge movies like this before and I can tell you that where you find meaning in a trailer... it may mean nothing in the movie. Consider for a moment that the scene where Noomi is getting blasted back by the storm is just an insignificant 30 second scene, rather than a full blown action set-piece.

I am not over analysing anything. Many of the members of this forums have posted topics about various elements from the trailer and dsicussed them in much, much greater depth than I have here. You seem to be a relatively new member so I will not take offence, but I will point out that most of the time on these forums most members over analyse everything (no offence guys). For example, the lightning flashes are just that. I included this as clarification for those that commented on Biomechanics thread in which he actually pondered what they were. In regards to the red lasers, there is no "clearly" about it, as we don't know 100% that this is human tech (for we don't actually see them being released).

i agree with almost all points ...my only reserve is about the natural origins of the dust storm that hit rapace ...to me is not ..is an explosion of some kind BUT we will see of course . we have to wait a month and half for a superbowl trailer i think .. ( and i think is the trailer that was leaked )

I just posted the dust storm idea as an extra possibility, but as you say we will see. As for the leaked trailer being the Superbowl trailer, I don't know. There is barely any difference between the leaked and released trailers. IMO trailers usually have a different edge to them, a different nuance/atmosphere, but again we will see.
