A film adaptation of the brutal sci-fi shooter series has been in development hell for quite some time, but it now seems like it's finally happening over at Universal, as confirmed by Variety.
Publisher Microsoft and developer The Coalition will work closely with the studio to ensure that the film stays true to the games. Hopefully this also means that it will be rated R and display the unflinching graphic violence that the series has become known for.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more. In the meantime, Gears of War 4 will be released on Xbox One and PC on October 11, and the early reviews have been nothing short of spectacular.
