The Brothers Strause return with Beyond Skyline!

The Brothers Strause return with Beyond Skyline!
By GavinScified EditorialsLeave a CommentPublished: August 18, 2017

After writing and directing one of the worst movies ever committed to film with 2007's Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, Colin and Greg Strause, AKA the Brothers Strause returned to direct and produce 2010's critically panned Skyline, considered by many as the poor man's Battle: Los Angeles. Few would have believed then that after seven years of absence after having made two critically panned movies in a row that the Brothers and their visual effects company Hydraulx had even survived, never mind was still in business in Hollywood. Yet the Brothers Strause (and their company Hydraulx) do indeed return, though thankfully only in the role of producers for a follow-up to Skyline.

The events depicted in Beyond Skyline, Starring Captain America: Winter Soldier's Frank Grillo, run parallel to those depicted in its predecessor.

I thought AVP Requiem was a lot better than the other AVP movie, for starters AVP Requiem was faithful to the source material rather than the unfaithful Paul W S Anderson's movie.

AVP Requiem had some interesting ideas on how a young queen would start up a hive over AVP(2004) fanfiction story.

I'm glad AVP Requiem killed off the AVP movies, now we can once again have standalone Alien and Predator movies.

There is not enough time to properly mesh the two creature's arcs together unless they have time to properly explain why they are here and not some trashy ridiculous fanfiction story like what was shoved down our throats like from AVP (2004). I mean proper introduction like the Aliens versus Predator: Prey or Aliens versus Predator 2/Primal Hunt. Something like that who have to be explained out in a TV series, since I lack confidence in an AVP movie able to reasonably explain why the Yaut'ja and Xenomorphs are at each other and not what AVP (2004)'s there in the middle of a war bullcrap. How can you be at war with something your entire culture hunts for a Rite of Passage? It would be like Hunters at in the middle of a war with freaking wild boars!
