So yesterday we received a new teaser trailer for Stranger Things Season 4, and as lots of fans have spotted a connection between that teaser and the teaser trailer released last year. It's that the YouTube description for both videos has a numbering. The "From Russia With Love" teaser has the numbering 001/004 and "Eleven, Are You Listening?" has 002/004. I've got a pretty good idea of what that means. I also have some ideas for the other two teasers. So, let's do this!
Part 001/003 - Who else will get a teaser?
Before we get to the more prominent theory, I'd like to point out that the first two teasers have focused on one character. Teaser 001 focused on Jim Hopper (David Harbour), who was believed to be dead following the climax of Season 3 but was revealed to be alive in the trailer. Teaser 002 revealed that we would be going deeper into the backstory of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). So who's next? I think Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) should have his own teaser and I think the other teaser spot should go to Hawkins as a whole and be a trailer teaser. But I may be wrong, but anyways let's get into the other theory now.
Part 002/003 - A possible pattern?
So, onto the more prominent theory. I already pointed out the 001/004 and 002/004 thing. But there's something else too. While the 1st teaser ignores this "something else," the numbers 3 and 6 were shown possibly hinting at the release of the 3rd teaser (AKA June 3rd, 2021). It's entirely possible that Netflix may release these little teasers the first Thursday of the next two months. It also goes in line with a possible release date for a trailer. If they were to go on the said path, it could pave the way for an official trailer to be released on the 2-year anniversary of the release of Stranger Things 3. This would mean the 3rd teaser would hit 6/3/21 and then the 4th and final teaser would hit 7/1/21. This would give 3 days of breathing room to release the first full trailer of S4 and confirm it's release date as well as show a first poster. But there is another theory (this time my own) that could be correct...
Part 003/003 - In conclusion...
If you all remember, before the Coronavirus pandemic shut down several film and tv project productions Stranger Things 4 was originally targeting a late 2020 or an early 2021 release date. It was hinted that the show was supposed to come out December 12th, 2020 with a clock striking midnight (or noon) in the announcement teaser. Obviously THAT didn't come to pass. But in the latest teaser the clock now is 3:00. So could the release date now be December 3rd, 2021? It's likely. There was speculation that the show would release in December of 2021 and now it's seemingly more likely. So what do you guys think of my theories? Sound off in the comments below and that's all for now!
And take this with a grain of salt, it's only theoretical.
Stranger Things 4's release date is currently unknown.
