With Star Trek: Beyond almost out in theatres, and the new TV series beginning filming next year, the question that remains for Star Trek fans is what will become of the series in the meantime?

IDW publishing, who have held the Star Trek license since 2011, will release a new comic series called To Boldy Go in October to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the franchise. Star Trek regulars Mike Johnson and Tony Shasteen will return to handle writing and illustration duties respectively.
To Boldly Go will follow the events of Beyond, bridging the gap between the already announced fourth film.
