According to CBR American actor and filmmaker Scott Haze has joined the cast of Sony Pictures Entertainments forthcoming Venom movie, while Variety has reported that Reid Scott has also joined the cast. Scott Haze can be seen in theaters now in Joseph Kosinski's (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) Only the Brave alongside Josh Brolin and Miles Teller, whereas Reid Scott is best known for his comedy performances in My Boys and Veep, leading us to believe the American actor will be cast in a comedic relief role similar to that of Jenny Slate's rumored role as a scientist. While Scott Haze's role in the movie has not yet been disclosed YouTuber Mr. H Reviews speculates that Haze may be up for the much-coveted role of Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage.
Initially, reports of Michelle Williams joining the cast as Eddie Brock's love interest suggested that the forthcoming movie may be an adaptation of the Sin-Eater story arc from the comic's in which Brocks ex-wife Ann Weying featured. Yet, according to Omega Underground, the Venom movie will actually be an adaptation of the Lethal Protector story arc, in which Eddie Brock move to San Francisco after striking a deal with Spider-Man, only to be pursued by a group of mercenaries called The Jury.
Omega Underground also claim that according to a casting call claiming the movies working title to be Antidote, the movie will start filming next Monday, October 23rd, with San Francisco, Atlanta, and New York reported to be the movies chief filming locations, and that the producers are looking for actors to play a group of mercenaries. Unfortunately, with no citable sources or more reputable news outlets following this news, we strongly suggest that, until confirmed any news pertaining to the movie adapting the Lethal Protector story arc be taken with a large dose of salt.
