Legendary Entertainment are parting ways with Warner Brothers and are starting a new relationship with Sony Pictures! With this new deal, Sony will work with Legendary to market and distribute upcoming movies across global markets (excluding China) with opportunities to co-finance films as an option down the road.
While Legendary are saying goodbye to Warner Brothers, the Dune and Monsterverse franchises and the distribution of their respective upcoming titles will remain at Warner Bros.

In an official statement, Legendary CEO Joshua Grode expressed the following:
Sony’s commitment to theatrical distribution aligns with our vision of how to best derive the most value for Legendary’s movies. The incredible slate of movies that Mary Parent has amassed are built for the theatrical experience and we are excited about our partnership with Sony for this next phase of Legendary’s growth … We are also grateful to Warner Bros. Pictures who has been a valuable partner to Legendary over many years, and we look forward to continuing our work with the talented executives at Warner/Discovery.
Sony will also handle home entertainment and TV distribution for Legendary projects but Legendary are still free to partner with other companies to distribute content via different streaming platforms.
