A new thriller monster movie based on the mythological sea creature - the Kraken has been announced at the European Film Market! Directed by Pal Oie (The Tunnel) and produced by TrustNordisk, the Kraken movie is currently in pre-production.
According to THR, the film is eyeing a late 2025 release date and will be about a terrifying undersea Monster which wrecks havoc:

The thriller will follow Johanne, a marine biologist who encounters several strange occurrences while researching a fjord, including the brutal deaths of two local teenagers. “At the bottom of Norway’s deepest fjord rests a mythical monster as large as a mountain, with a myriad of arms ready to crush and devour anything they can grab,” the film’s synopsis reads.
An official release date and cast have yet to be announced, but as new details surface we'll be sure to keep you updated!
The film will shoot off the coast or Norway later this year.
